Hostels in Chiang Mai City

Such a beautiful place with a lovely garden. The owners and staff are really friendly (the owners also speak English very well) and helped whenever we needed something. The location is great with plenty of things (bar/restaurant) on a 5 min walking distance. The rooms and other facilities were clean and the beds comfortable.

A group of old houses set in a well-kept garden full of flowers. Staff great and very flexible when we asked to change rooms due to a mistake we made when reserving. Great value for money, room and bed huge.

Location is great, everything is clean, the room (both private as dorms) were good and clean. The only downside is dealing with the other people :P The cats are super sweet as well. And the shower is amazing, 10/10

Such a great guesthouse! Was super cheap, great location, the staff were amazing and they have a snack bar out all day (with coffee, crackers, fruit) which was a winner for us! The family that run it our the sweetest. Loved our stay here.

The BB house is a nice enough place to stay. The staff are friendly and the rooms are very cheap. With that being said they are incredibly basic. Bunk beds and that's about it. My particular room didn't even have a window. If you were on a budget and needed somewhere to stay it works out alright. The food is ok and they were out of beer when we visited. The location is decent with plenty of shops...

This is a great hostel/BnB on a budget! The rooms and facilities are clean and spacious and the staff are wonderful. The bathrooms and showers are shared facilities but they are immaculate and compared to some of the private bathrooms I've experienced are a dream. It's close to the night markets and all the bars are within walking distance. They provide free toast, coffee and tea as well as cold drinking...

This is by far the best budget accommodation we haven been to. Super clean. Sheets and towels provided, they even fave us clean towels after the second night. Breakfast is great and they have a "help yourself" snack bar 24/7 for all guests. The family that runs it is just the loveliest. The room is well decorated, clean and has a small des and storage and a big mirror. And AC!!!! First budget room...

The whole place was very clean, considering the price of the room. Definitely recommending the rooms with balcony! The location is very accessible, just next to the east gate. Zoe in Yellow is less than 500m away. The staff were very nice— although none were present at night.

Stayed here for three weeks and it was perfect. Everything was super clean and comfortable. The staff were absolutely amazing and sweet!!

I loved this place and all the people who work there so, so much! They were kind and welcoming as soon as I got there. They were also super helpful with recommendations as well as helping me book things like cooking classes and bus rides. I was really sad when it was time to go. It’s also in a great location. A 20 minute walk to the weekend night market, 15 minutes to the night bazaar, several restaurants...

Our stay at Thai Thai hostel was great. Max at reception was very friendly, helpful and a funny guy to chat with. Our room was nice with a comfortable bed and plenty of storage space for our luggage, the breakfast was a simple but good way to start the day, and the atmosphere was usually pretty chill. It is the off-season so there weren't too many guests but it's a good thing if you like to hang...

Fantastic place to stay, the hostel offers so much in the way of added extras. Free tea, coffee, biscuit and water refill. Even the breakfast is included. The staff are brilliant and friendly always give a warm welcome every time you return and are interested in what you've done or doing next. They help with anything you need. Very clean. The cleaning lady does not stop all day.

Nice staff with a comfortable common area. I stayed in a ten-bunk room. Each bed had a big locker, which was nice, but many of the lockers were situated next to other beds. That and the fact that there were no bed curtains meant this place had even less privacy than most hostels. Many guests were coming and going all night. If you want a lovely place to meet other travelers, you'll enjoy Thai Thai...

Absolutely gorgeous property and extremely well set up. Social, interesting folks to meet. Had a particularly helpful receptionist at night. Lockers with locks setup in a quiet common space so you're not trying to pack your bags quietly in the hostel room. Extremely thoughtful bed design (lamp, mirror, small item storage, towel rack). Card access to hostel. Would definitely stay again.

I was impressed. Bed is large and soft. Every areas are clean, And I slept well. The staff are lovely and friendly.

Really nice place to stay! I highly recommend it. The staff are super lovely and helpful. Very modern fit out and clean. I really liked how each bed had its own curtain for privacy and it also meant you didn’t disturb other people in the dorms coming and going. Great location in the old city too.

Wow. This place has something very special about it. I can’t really fault it at all! I stayed here for 3 nights and fell in love with the quiet space around me. The decor, furniture, beds and bathrooms were all high quality and beautiful. All the members of staff are lovely and willing to help when possible. The downstairs common area is nice and relaxed, with the freedom to bring in food & drinks...

Very fancy place, very clean and organised. The dorm rooms are like bed capsules with plug sockets and curtains, clean comfortable beds, it's true. You're gonna love it. Unique, strangely comfortable toilets ! Hugh shower head with warm water! Swimming Pool was clean. Staff very helpful etc.

It is such a nice hotel! The staff is super nice and the dorm rooms have a quiet and private atmosphere since they all have curtains and are rather designed like boxes. It is very cozy and the pool is nice, as well. Though the breakfast is not very filling it is tasty and fresh. THIS IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE HOSTEL IN CHIANG MAI!!!

Amazing hostel, the best of four I've stayed in during my stay in Chiang Mai. The people working here are really nice, one by one. The beds are up to western-standards: soft and comfortable. It's all brand new and the architecture is great.

I didn’t stay here but stopped in for a cold iced drink during my walk around town to get out of the heat. The Thai iced green milk tea was very good and the woman tending the cafe (owner?) trained a fan on me and was super friendly. I had the place to myself and it was nice and quiet. A perfectly acceptable stop and I have no complaints.

This is a great hotel conveniently located in Old Town Chiang Mai. Easy walking distance wherever we wanted to go, but plenty of tuk tuks and Grab cars around in the afternoon if it was too hot to walk. Whenever we entered the lobby, we were greeted with a welcoming "hello." The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. This was our second stay in this hotel, and we would stay again...

We had an amazing stay at the Sila. We just happened upon it when we stopped into the cafe for an iced coffee after visiting some temples. We had not picked a place to stay for the night and asked about a room. The location is a bit far from the main road, it might be a bit inconvenience if you want to walk to the hotel. However, the parking is free, so, no complain about this. Since the hotel is brand new, it means that everything is in pretty good condition. Also, staff is awesome and doing a great service and so friendly. Finally, the hotel offer free loop van to a walking street nearby if you're staying...

This was absolutely the best hotel experience I have ever had. The staff is above and beyond! Words can’t describe how hospitable, caring and helpful they were. Room was sparkling clean. Aircon was perfect. Bed was good. Location is close enough to old city and they will drop you and pick you up into old city for free. Very easy. Will stay here again and again!

The rooms are large and clean and everything works well. The bad side is the bed and pillows are as hard as a board.

A good place to go if you have a limited budget.(500thb/n.) One can rent per month too. Basic rooms look spartiate but have all one need. Excellent ratio rate to room

A good place for the reasonable price. Close to Chiang Mai gate and Saturday market. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, there's an air conditioner and a fridge in every room. Have stayed there 3 times already. Coming back this month too.

August Hostel is so nice ! the location is perfect, right in the center, you have everything you need there. the dorms are really clean and the bed is comfy, with curtains and space to put your stuffs. The good thing is that you have a lot of showers and toilets, so you don’t have to wait, and it’s clean. the staff is super friendly and will help you book tours and finds cute cafes !!

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and we wish we could've been here longer! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful!!! They not only helped with the typical touristy activity things, but also offered to mail my postcards for me. The stay here was very comfortable as well. The AC worked well, the rooms and bathrooms were cleaned daily, toilet paper always stocked, water was warm, and the free breakfast was substantial! Would return here again.

Great staff, great atmosphere, clean and relaxed. Perfect location. Only issue was street noise in the rooms and that the rooms can get a little hot.

Nice hostel in the center. It could have been a bit better tho. The common areas were pretty empty all the time, the lockers were not big enough to put the backpacks so it was difficult to walk in the room which was tiny. Still, they have a entertaintment room with a TV and A/C. Everything is very clean too. I would not go there again because I found better in Chai Mai but this hostel is good overall...

Absolutely blown away by this hostel, its host and the other employees there! By far the best budget hostel I've been to in Thailand. You can tell the host takes great pride in what she does! We had a lovely time at Nuy's place. She was a great host, looking after the guests as her own family. Also, the free community dinner is a great opportunity to meet other travelers (plus eating amazing food). Highly recommended it!!

Nuy , the hostel owner is definitely the best hostess in town . She takes care of you, she prepare local breakfast and dinner all included in the room price, and she finds you authentic activities for the best prices. The room is great and clean. Wonderful experience.
