Cheap and clean room. And this hotel has morning bufe that a lot of Asian foods! We can choose no spicy someones or spicy other ones. But it's better you can speak Thai little.

Serviceminded staff. Location are perfect. It is clean. Rooms are not top modern but works. Breakfast are good. So over all i recomend the hotel.

Fine hotel but mostly for people who are willing to pay the price. We had 4 nights and nothing to complain about really (besides sand/ in the water the first night). Got upgraded to a suite and the staff was kind, helpful and always smiling. We however find the price too high so we will not necessarily return

Great location in the heart of the Night Bazaar, with easy access to everything in Chiang Mai. This is a rather tired hotel but still of a good standard. Very clean hotel and nice central location. However very loud if your room is near the road. Staff are great. Rooms fairly decent but bathroom is a bit dated. If using as a base to go exploring like we did then it's great as night market is right out side.

Lower your expectations from Western standards. Is is an economy hotel with minimal amenities. The good news it is ideally located in the downtown, tourist area of Chiang Mai. It is walking distance to many restaurants and coffee houses. Expect clean beds and warm water but nothing in the way of hair dryers or mints on your pillow. We recently stayed here for a month. The staff are brilliant, so so helpful and kind. Accommodation is very good value. The only 2 downsides were we found the WiFi to not be that great, fine if you've got a hotspot to use. And the beds are very firm, so we bought a mattress topper for ours. If you're looking for quiet accommodation just outside of the old town, this could be a great option for you

Old but gold. Could be improved a bit...unless that it's a good hotel, clean, good attention and roomservice. If you want more tranquility make sure to take a room to the other side of the main road, from there you have a nice view.

Beautiful spaces. I appreciated their attempts to be environmental (no plastic bottles). They don't have laundry by the kilo, only individual shirts being pressed. So that was really annoying for us, our dirty laundry piled up and we had to go through a lot of inconvenience to get cleaned.

Room is small but environment is good covering by the beautiful garden. Food option at breakfast line is not much but sufficient for a meal. Parking lot is a plus for those who drive, it is quite big.

Great place to stay but found the room door doesn't lock when going out if you hold the handle in the open position for more that 5 seconds. I feel this is a serious security issue and there needs to be a notice in the room to check the room is locked when leaving it. . Other gripe is its impossible to get warm or hot fried eggs at breakfast time.

1st time to Somwang but a favourite of my relatives. Situated at a quiet lane but it is only 5mins walk to Tha Pae gate! Rooms are very clean. There is a pool but it was super cold when I swam in it in Dec. Haha! Bfast is a good spread. A few convenience stores, pharmacies, massage parlors, eateries, all within short walking distance. This place is excellent value and the staff are very good. Sure the rooms are dated but that didn't bother me and they're certainly large. They don't have the system that turns off the power when you leave the room so you can leave things charging when you go out.
