An old hotel with good facilities. The room are spacious with large free corner. The bed are quite large that you can roll around. Also they maintain the cleanlines in a good level. Another thing is they clean the stairs regularly since I like using the stairs to excersice because most of the hotel closed the stairs area (not for public exept disaster).
One thing they need to improve is breakfast variation, especially when you stay here for 1 month, perhaps they can have east or western or japanese or korean menu differently several times in a week (to increase the variation.
Overall my stays here is so good with all of the facilities. Thank you Merlin.

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. First, we were given a completely different room from the one we originally booked—one that didn’t match the paid category and was in poor condition. On top of that, the room smelled strongly of mold, and there was visible mold in the bathroom. The air conditioners were old and very noisy, which only made the mold smell worse. Additionally, the internet connection was terrible, making it hard to work or stay connected. If anyone is interested, we have both photo and video evidence to back up these claims. Considering all these issues, I cannot recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay.

Pros: The staff was friendly upon arrival. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and the hotel is 10 minutes away from the city center of Old Phuket.
Cons: The room doesn't look like in the photos. As you enter the hotel, a strong smell hits you. And the rooms will get smelly if you don't open your window daily (a mix of old, naphthalene, sewer smell). The bathroom has mold on the ceiling and walls, between the tiles (it is pretty visible). And the AC is integrated into the walls, it is not an independent piece for each room, so I asked myself when was the last time it got cleaned, as I was sneezing a lot in the room, thoug I am not a person prone to allergies, maybe just mold if there is a lot of it.

Rooms are a bit dated but still clean and suitable, lots of amenities that hotels stopped offering 10-20yrs ago, slight mildew smell due to humidity but goes away when AC is at full blast

The hotel is conveniently located, not too far from the city center, making it easy to get to the old quarter and the night market.
However, the hotel was built and has been in operation for 30 years, so the facilities are quite old and somewhat outdated. The room occasionally has a musty smell, but it’s clear that the staff has made great efforts to maintain cleanliness.
The breakfast buffet is modest but reasonable for the room price.

This hotel says it's been serving since 1980. Unfortunately, it looks like that. It's such a shame, with money spent on it, it could be wonderful.
The hotel decor had a feel of a down at heel America motel. It looked exactly like one I'd stayed in Florida over 10 years ago.
The staff were absolutely lovely. I stayed at Patong Beach Merlin a while ago, and it was nice to see the same staff member, who went out of her way to make us welcome. She was the best thing about the hotel. Chatting to us every time she saw us. We only stayed for one night, I'm glad because I was so disappointed in the quality. Breakfast was spread out over the dining room, and I didn't manage to find the fruit till later. All in all, the staff made this stay pleasurable, not the building.

We went here purely because it was easy to be picked up and dropped off after a snorkeling tour.
Everything was clean and well managed.
It's just not very special.
The food and spa were a bit disappointing.
And if you want to walk downtown, it's a bit of a hassle.

I don’t recommend.
The room is too old, everything is out of date, the plug is too far from the bed and there is something wrong with the plug, I can’t get my device charged. Also, Wi-Fi works poorly.
The breakfast was nice, the staff were friendly, the massage were a little bit pricey compared to the service we received.
Above all, I don’t recommend Phuket town. Such a over rated place, too crowded and too commercial, why not shopping on online if you want get those commodity of no use or value.
You can hardly appreciate the Phuket town buildings due to the crowds, so I’m disappointed and my time there were wasted.

Room is bit outdated and needs to be repaired. Shower is old.
Service I would give it 2/10. The staff needs some customer service training, specially if you call the reception. He answered me like “what you want”, instead asking the right questions to see why I’m calling?! .. honestly, couldn’t believe my ears!! Staff needs to have proper training to communicate with customers.
