This is the worst hotel you could chose.
For this price you could get a nicer hotel.
Hotel Zem around the corner is cleaner than this.
City Art Hotel Staff is incompetent, rude and disgusting.
The pictures on their website are fake. In reality the rooms are dirty, the water won’t turn hot and it smells really bad.
When we confronted them about this stuff their response is “you paid a cheap price and that’s what you get for the price”.
There were hairs and stains on the sheets.
One bed didn’t have a blanket so my sister froze the whole night. Their windows are broken and it’s freezing cold.
Also you can hear everything from outside or from other rooms and the floor since the walls are so thin.
We changed our hotel straight away as they would NOT offer us a clean room or a Refund!!!!!

Please just stay away from this hotel.

So let me start of with the location being on top because when i go on holidays i try to stay out as much as possible and i dont mind the hotel as long as is not infected with smth which in this case no.The Room we choose with city view and it had an big balcony and you could enjoy the view of the mosque and it you are higher you could see the sea.The room was okay it was cleaned when we got it but then they didnt clean it for the mext days maybe because we would think that they touched our stuff but they left it that way but the towels where changed everyday and the where clean also the bathroom was clean.I would come again and maybe ask them for a 2 floor so the view is better.I would come again 👍

Nice hotel, very friendly staff and clean rooms. Rooftop with amazing views!! For the price it is absolutely the best option if you stay in Sultanahmet and want to be a few walking minutes away from all the tourist spots. Thanks to Emre and Rashad from the reception also for recommending us affordable food options in the area without us even asking…we truly felt welcome!

This isn't the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but it's pretty bad. Their website is completely fraudulent: the real rooms don't look anything like the photos. I'm pretty sure they just found nice hotel photos on Google Images and just copied and pasted. The place is cramped, the rooms are very poorly furnished and a little dirty (though the linens are clean), the elevator doesn't seem to work, and there are no amenities at all. Also, the price is a little high for what you get; there are tons of hotels in the same area that cost about the same and are way nicer. On the plus side, most of the staff are reasonably helpful, the location is excellent (less than 1km from the Blue Mosque), it's on a pleasant little Byzantine-era street, and the view from the rooftop terrace is very nice. If you're just looking for a place to crash, want the sights to be within an easily walkable distance, and aren't at all picky, this might work for you. Personally, I stayed for two nights and it wasn't totally horrible, but then switched to a different hotel in the same part of Istanbul.

I booked this hotel knowing that it was a budget hotel so I didn’t have any expectations. I chose it solely for the location. My husband and I literally needed a place to sleep for a few hours during our 15 hours layover and we wanted to check out Istanbul. The property was old and cramped with too many furniture. None of the pictures on any of the booking websites matched the reality, especially the terrace on the rooftop. The views were fine, but the terrace looked like a dump. We didn’t feel like hanging up there for longer than to snap a picture or two of sea. Our room was tight and it was in the basement. The bathroom looked disgusting. However, I wasn’t surprised because the website told me exactly the room I was getting for the price that I paid. One thing that bothered me was that our room key could open the room next door. Our room was 104, but the room wasn’t labeled so I accidentally opened the room next to us which was 103. I walked in a middle of a mother and daughter having a conversation. The strange part was that they didn’t seem surprised or bothered at all over a fact that a stranger could open their room. I felt uncomfortable all night leaving our luggage and belongings inside the room while we were out and about checking out the city. I couldn’t help but thinking anyone could come into our room at any time too? The check-in staff was pleasant enough. He informed us the basic info and was helping us with our luggage. The morning staff who checked us out couldn’t careless to carry on a conversation. He seemed annoyed that we intruded on his smoke break with a pal outside. Overall, I was not impressed with the hotel. I will definitely not come back or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Were at the end of June 2022, with my wife and son, on vacation. In general, we are satisfied with the hotel. The staff is polite and responsive. I will give two examples: my son has diabetes, having learned about it, they settled us in a room overlooking the Sea of Marmara. When it was time to fly away, we had some problems with tickets. The manager helped a lot by buying online three tickets to Trabzon. Wi-Fi, living room, toilet, bathroom clean. Basically worth the money. The hotel is located in the historical center of Istanbul - Sultanahmet area. Close to the Blue Mosque and Ayasofya.

The worst hotel I‘ve ever been to. All the bad comments here absolutely tell the truth. The pictures do not resemble the hotel at all. The hotel itself looked horrible and not really clean. The rooms weren‘t clean either. The bathroom was the worst. The hygiene there was also terrible and the shower was full of mold. Thank God we were there for only 2 days to have a place to sleep. It would have been impossible to stay any longer there. The bed wasn‘t even staying straight and was leaning to the right whenever I tried to sleep on it. Definitely don‘t go there, not even for a night. The towels and all were dirty and even were from another hotel. One star is way too much for this dirty building.

Great hotel with great multilingual staff.
The hotel itself is located in the heart of the old city, which helps to better enjoy the whole atmosphere of old Istanbul.
There are restaurants and souvenir shops within walking distance.
The staff helped organize an unforgettable Bosphorus tour for a very nice price.
The rooms are cleaned daily and with high quality.
Overall highly recommend you such a good hotel at such a nice price

The hotel staff are amazing. Very attentive and catered amazingly especially with us being from the UK. Good location and a lovely terrace area with a beautiful view of the city. This is the first time visiting Istanbul and would definitely stay here again if we returned for how well we have been treated. Thank you❤️

overbooked my room and sent me to a "sister hotel" which was a motel. the place was disgusting. both places were run by mafia thugs. they pulled all kinds of shady scams while i was there. when i confronted them and demanded a refund they tried to intimidate me and taunted me saying i got a good deal so i shouldn't complain. they've been reported to the police so they should be getting a knock soon. this is just the tip of the iceberg. save yourself the trouble and stay away from Turkey
