Dosso Dossi Hotels Old City

We had an amazing stay at Dosso Dossi Hotel! The staff were absolutely wonderful—kind, helpful, and always ready with a smile. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and they were especially great with kids. My youngest son was lovingly referred to as “Boss” throughout our stay, which completely made his day—every day!

The location is unbeatable, just steps away from many of Istanbul’s top attractions. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well maintained, which we really appreciated.

The one thing that stood out was the room size. As others have noted, the rooms are on the smaller side, and with a family of four, it was a bit of a challenge to manage our luggage and unpack. However, the warmth and professionalism of the staff and management more than made up for that.

Thank you, Dosso Dossi, for helping create such wonderful memories for our family. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Very clean and spacious rooms, 507 was very good but view on side building. Breakfast normal Istanbul standards 😊. Staff are lovely. Location great but for week legs not recommended 😉 it is on steep street. Close to Tram station

My memorable trip to Istanbul with family. Stayed for 11 nights at this wonderful hotel. Great location, great service, great breakfast. Daily cleaning. My kids are 6 & 9 years old. They gave us a standard room & provided an extra bed. When my initial 5 nights booking was about to finish, i contacted the reservation desk. I informed the guy that there was a deal at Agoda & he happily obliged to that rate & extended me another 6 nights. Overall very satisfied with the hotel & cannot forget the beautiful Istanbul.

There is however just one issue with the mattress. It was super soft. Which was not ideal for me as i have backpain issues so I used the extra bed which was good enough for me.

Cons:
Booked a room with a window, city view. Got a room with a window into the wall. Not even light got in! You can't open the window and there is no wind because of the wall.

The air conditioner doesn't cool, we slept 2 nights all wet. The refrigerator doesn't work either.

Pros:
Very polite staff, great guys.

I stayed at Dosso Dossi recently and was overall very pleased with the experience. The staff were consistently courteous, professional, and eager to assist throughout our stay. While we did encounter a few service-related issues, they were addressed promptly and efficiently. What truly stood out was the team’s willingness to listen and accommodate our concerns at every stage, ensuring that we felt valued and well looked after.

Our room, though modest, was comfortable and met our needs for a short stay. The breakfast was a highlight—hearty, satisfying, and offering a wide variety of choices to suit all preferences. It was the perfect start to each day.

Overall, our stay was very enjoyable, and we greatly appreciated the attentive service and warm hospitality. Thank you, Dosso Dossi, for a pleasant and welcoming experience.

At first, there was an unpleasant surprise upon arrival: the room I booked with two beds was not available and we were moved to a room with one bed, saying that in the morning after breakfast we would be moved before 12:00. In the morning after breakfast, as agreed, we went to change the room, they told us that we had to wait until twelve o'clock and only then would they give us a new room. But if we wanted, we could move to a room with a view of the wall, which we did, not wanting to wait another 2 hours. Also, since the room overlooked the Hagia Sophia, every morning at 5:00 in the morning we heard the call to prayer so loud that with the window closed I could hear it every time I woke up. Perhaps this only happens in March, since they had Ramadan. Otherwise, the hotel is good, everything is clean, the staff is smiling, and gives advice if necessary. The hotel also has a hamam and a sauna, which are included in the price of the room. The room is small for two, quite cramped, one chair for two people, there is no normal closet in the hallway, but there is an open hanger and lockers for clothes near the bed, which was very inconvenient. Towels were changed every day. By the end of the 4th day, we ran out of shampoo and soap and they did not give it to us, it's good that we left on the fifth day. Breakfast is delicious and varied. The hotel is located next to the landmark within walking distance of the Hagia Sophia, Topkany Palace and the Blue Mosque.

Very small rooms. We had a family of 4, 2 rooms. They gave us a family block. As a result, in one room the windows were on the wall, and there was no room for 2 suitcases. In the second room it was a little bigger and you could see the city at an angle, well, and the wall too. Then you can reach it with your hand at a height of 175 cm. The bathroom and toilet are shabby. The bed was stained, and the pillow had a hole. They changed everything. We wanted to change rooms right away, they showed us: in one there were no windows at all, in the second you can touch the wall of the neighboring house with your hand from the window. Breakfasts for two days are acceptable, coffee from the Maxwell House 3-in-1 machine. Lots of fruits, vegetables, hot dishes, all kinds of eggs, vegetables, pancakes, and delicious rolls with cottage cheese. Many types of bread and cheese and Turkish sausages.

The hotel is well located in the Sultanahmet region with attractions like Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace at walkable distance. It is located close to 2 tram stations so commuting to Dolmabahce Palace, Galata Tower and Taksim Square is very easy.

Breakfast is amazing with 10 cheese variants and continental style. The front desk is very helpful.
