JW Marriott Istanbul Bosphorus

I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Istanbul, and my experience was far from satisfactory. The hotel's website is misleading, showcasing rooms that appear much larger than they are in reality. Upon arrival, my room was tiny and lacked many advertised amenities such as chairs and a couch. The panoramic city view I was promised turned out to be a view of a building's roof.

Despite being a Titanium Elite member, I was offered a paid upgrade despite my elite status which came 200% more than the original base rate to fix the shortcoming of their deciding marketing. which was both surprising and disappointing. The need for additional payment for an upgrade at this level of loyalty is unacceptable and contrary to the expected benefits of the Titanium status.

Additionally, the JW Marriott Istanbul charges significantly more than nearby hotels like The Bank, which offers a much better experience and accurate room descriptions. The absence of a lounge at the JW Marriott is unacceptable for an international hotel at this price point.

Overall, despite the good location and courteous staff, the JW Marriott Istanbul fails to deliver on its promises, making it difficult to recommend. Consider alternative accommodations like The Bank Hotel for a more reliable and pleasant stay in Istanbul.

As loyal Silver members of your hotel franchise, we recently stayed at the J.W. Marriott branch in Istanbul and unfortunately encountered a disheartening experience.

We discovered that a significant amount of cash was missing from my wallet, which had been left securely in a bag in our room. To be precise, half of the amount was inexplicably absent. This incident has added to our overall dissatisfaction with the stay.

Furthermore, despite our Silver member status, none of the expected features and privileges were applied during our stay. This departure from the usual high standards we've come to appreciate was quite disappointing.

We believe in the commitment to excellence that your hotel chain is known for and hope that this matter can be thoroughly investigated and addressed promptly. Your attention to these concerns will greatly contribute to restoring our faith in the quality of service we have come to expect from J.W. Marriott.

Contacted the hotel Guest Experience Manager as a friend of mine was staying in this hotel on honey moon and I wanted to make a nice surprise and send them a cake or other room amenity to their room .
I must express my disappointment with how my inquiry has been managed. Despite clearly stating that the arrangement was meant to be a surprise, I discovered that the email conversation between the hotel staff and myself was shared with the guest (my friend) for him to approve receiving the amenities. Due to the language barier friend of mine never approved that because he simply did not understand what was going on.
This experience has been done without my knowledge and left me feeling quite disheartened, as such handling of inquiries is unprofessional and disappointing.

While I understand that there are protocols to follow, it would have been helpful if these procedures were communicated to me upfront. Had I been aware of the necessity to consult with the guest beforehand to accept a food related amenity I would not have proceeded in this manner, as it was intended to be a surprise. Unfortunately, this mishandling by the staff has compromised the element of surprise that was initially planned.

Since the initial contact with the hotel, it has been made clear that the guest in question is staying with them, and they have engaged with him regarding the surprise amenities on multiple occasions. However, I was told in via emails that they were unable to locate the guest in the hotel.
General experience of guest relations was very poor. I have not been expected this result from a manager who I was dealing with.
The whole back and forth conversation with hotel staff took several days to proceed which finally resulting guests leaving the premises without my request being proceeded .
