Nagehan Hotel Old City

The room was very small, even though the price was similar to many nearby hotels with better service. The pillows were extremely bad, and the mattress was in terrible condition. The bathroom was very tiny, and there was a clear smell of dampness in the room. The furniture was very poor and worn out, and the sheets were bad and even torn. I had planned to stay for a week but couldn’t stay more than one night. There are no elevators, and this hotel does not deserve to be rated as a 3-star hotel at all.

Absolutely rubbish , couldn’t even stay a night there it was awful , that managers a rude person too, we didn’t even stay a night due to a medical issue and they didn’t give us any of our money back they completely robbed us , they acted apologetic in person but after we left they denied everything to the companies that tried taking action.

This hotel was very inconsiderate as when me and my family came to stay the air conditioning was not working. This caused an issue as people in my family have asthma and the humidity could trigger an attack. We had asked them to fix it and they would not so we left due to medical reasons and now they are refusing to refund what we paid even though we hadn’t even stayed one night.

I stayed at this hotel during a recent trip, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The air conditioning in the room was broken, and despite staff coming to check it three times, it remained full of dust. The room itself was extremely humid, with water literally running down the walls, as seen in the pictures I took. Mold was visible around the windows, and the smell inside the room was overwhelming and unpleasant.

When I requested a room change, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and no alternative was available. Additionally, the sheets provided were dirty and had visible rips. When I brought this up to the staff, I was told that their materials hadn’t arrived yet, which I found unacceptable. It is the hotel’s responsibility to ensure rooms are clean and in proper condition before guests arrive.

On the positive side, the staff were kind and made efforts to assist us with our requests. The hotel is located in a nostalgic neighborhood in Istanbul, which added charm to the location. However, given the poor maintenance and lack of preparedness, I would not choose to stay here again.

While the staff’s efforts to help were appreciated, these issues should have been addressed before guests checked in. The overall experience fell well below expectations.

Let's start with the few good things!

Good location, nice staff, a not bad breakfast.
BUT :
Room very small i could hardly find an area to put the praying carpet.

The bed is not confortable at all..

The pillow is as old as the city..
The room service???? Very very baaad..IN our 10 days staying the sheets were only changed ONCE...... They don't clean the rooms or even do the bed.. They just change the towels and that's it...
We asked TWICE for an extra blanket because the only one provided was small and the only answer was:" I'll tell the room service to provide one in the morning.
"
On booking it was mentioned that there is laundry service with extra fees but when asked they said there is not !

Hopefully you'll take this review into consideration.

The hotel is quite old, and rust was visible on the walls, which they attempted to conceal with wallpaper. Renovation is necessary. The absence of an elevator poses a problem for guests with large suitcases. Ultimately, we had to find another hotel to stay at, and the host refused to refund us for the nights we did not stay. The hotel's customer service was unsatisfactory.
