Not sure how this is only 3 star. It was a fantastic family run inn. Did a longer review on social media because it was so good and the service was fantastic.

Google reviews say breakfast isn’t enough but believe me it is fine you’ll love the food.

The staff give directions very well and help with everything we needed. The hotel is very clean and taken care of well.

Location is beside Beyazit tram station which is a great place because it’s not in the city which is too noisy but just outside which is great.

I stayed at this hotel with my family during peak summertime - first week of July 2025, having booked around six weeks in advance—and I’m so glad we did. The ambience was absolutely gorgeous, with beautifully styled interiors that gave the place a warm yet modern feel.

The rooms were appropriately spacious, very clean, and well-kept. I really appreciated the hotel’s environmental initiatives, like the option to only replace towels if left on the floor, and the water dispensers available on each floor, which saved us from using single-use plastic bottles. It’s little touches like that that make a difference.

The housekeeping staff were lovely—so friendly and respectful. I asked if they could come by a little later since we were catching up on sleep, and they were really understanding. I also liked the door hangers to let them know whether or not you wanted to be disturbed.

The front desk team were fantastic too. Super welcoming, fluent in English, and made check-in a breeze. The manager was equally lovely—really attentive and helpful throughout our stay.

The only downside was the bathroom design—there was no lock on the door and ventilation could definitely be improved. I’ve already passed this feedback on directly to the hotel, but it’s worth noting for future guests. Another small improvement I’d love to see is the placement of the air conditioning unit. It’s positioned directly above the pillows, a bit too close to where your head would normally rest, so we didn’t feel much airflow while sleeping. We actually ended up sleeping the opposite way round just to get a bit more breeze!

Food-wise, we were happy. There was a basic variety—nothing overly fancy, but it covered all the basics well. The location is a real win too—just a five-minute walk to the tram and four minutes to the train station, which made getting around Istanbul super easy.

We booked three rooms for our family of six, and the setup worked perfectly. The AC itself worked well (and was very much needed with the heat!), and all the facilities—from the lifts to the lobby—were in great working order. I also appreciated the complimentary sewing kit in the room—a thoughtful and practical little touch you don’t see often!

One thing to flag: some of the additional services can be a bit pricey. For example, mobile SIM card is $60, which you could get elsewhere for less. I had an e-sim anyways but was shocked by the price. I hope no one pays that much! I also wish they included a few more complimentary extras like iced drinks or even omelettes at breakfast, which came at an extra cost.

Overall though, I’d absolutely recommend this hotel—especially for families. I’d 100% stay again on my next trip to Istanbul. It was a beautiful stay in every way that mattered.

This small hotel offers fantastic value for money. The friendly staff, clean rooms, and perfect location make it an ideal choice. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was delightful, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the Grand Bazaar.

We stayed at this hotel in April for 5 days. It’s a really nice hotel. Went for a slightly bigger room which was a duplex - this was really comfortable for 2 adults and child. Felt less claustrophobic- this can sometimes be the case in smaller city hotels. There was ample space and I would definitely recommend paying a bit extra and getting this room if you like your space or you have a child with you. Welcome was really nice - even though it is a small hotel - the staff are really kind and hard working . On arrival we were greeted with some Turkish apple tea and a Turkish delight piece . Breakfast on the roof terrace was fine. You can’t compare it to a fancy buffet at a 5 star hotel- but it had oats, scrambled eggs, salad , cheese, yoghurt, Simit (Turkish bread ), cereals, jam and honey — coffee and teas. I brought my own tea bags and used these but overall there was a good selection that was quite healthy . Freshly squeezed orange juice was available for extra costs and I think a different type of egg was available at extra costs- but to be honest unless you are really particular then it is more than enough. It really set me up for the day and I didn’t need to eat until 2-3pm. The breakfast was from 8am to 10.30am.
The area is ok- not the nicest area but so close to the blue mosque and grand bazaar. Really nice in the evenings as you can walk to the shops which are open late. I wouldn’t advise buying the Turkish delight and things near the hotel as they are way more expensive than other places (if you can take a ferry to the Asian side then things seem considerably cheaper - dried fruit and Turkish delight etc) hafeez mustafa was tihin walking distance and nice after dinner for coffee and desserts if you like that kind of thing. There is a simple local restaurant which serves nice food and it’s cheap and they are honest . We went there around 3 times as it was so close and tasty . Nusrt salt bae restaurant is also in walking distance - it isn’t too expensive compared to in London (where we are from ) and they do nice burgers which I thought were reasonable - (£50 gbp for 2 adults and a child )
All in all if you are staying in Istanbul and don’t want to spend loads on a hotel but want a decent standard nice boutique style hotel that is near sultanahmet , blue mosque , grand bazaar, Hagia Sophia etc - then look no further . I would definitely recommend it . If I come back then I would stay again.

Run by family members. All of the staff were nice and polite.
We were greeted with the apple tea. That was lovely.
Situated in a great location. Our room is tiny but quite noisy from the street unfortunately. But the room is very clean.
The breakfast was ok. All vegetarian food. I don’t eat much of vegetables( I know but that’s my problem thing)
I was getting a surprise on my birthday with a cake was a lovely gesture.
Overall was a good place. Tram also just a short walk.

Booked two room with the hotel and they were met with expectations. Tho rooms are on the smaller side, we wanted a very central location with close proximity to public transportations, Hotel Niles is perfect. The rooms were very clean and with mini fridge and the ability to open the window. The staff are friendly and helpful so I highly recommend this hotel to travellers.

Great hotel

The front desk staff was very helpful.
The room was traditional and had a great atmosphere.
The breakfast was also very delicious.
It was in a great location within walking distance of the Grand Bazaar and the Blue Mosque.
The only part that was difficult with a suitcase was the steep hill you had to go down from the main street...

I would say Niles is a great hotel to stay in Istanbul. The breakfast is delicious and be enjoyed on the roof where you can see the stunning view simultaneously.
My friend and I highly recommend this hotel. The famous tourists spots are all in walking distance. If I have time to travel Istanbul again or my friend ask me for advice of hotel in Istanbul, I would say Niles!
