Nordstern Hotel Galata

What a find !. You step out literally right on to the Galata bridge, pier, and the tram station.. Probably the best location ever. The room is kept clean, the staff are super-attentive and friendly. Nice view of the Galata tower and the galata bridge overlooing the golden horn from the breakfast area.. Nothing else to ask for than a tiny bit improvement in the breakfast food. But , a total gem in general... Definitely will be staying only here in my future Istanbul visits.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The location (and views!!) is perfect, walking distance to all the main attractions (Sultanahmet area, Galata area and Taksim area.) The staff provided us with a map and helped us plan our trip. All the staff members were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great and fresh daily. The rooms were spacious and clean. We would gladly return to this hotel.

This hotel is absolutely wonderful! With beautifully appointed rooms and a great location close to the all the local attractions in Istanbul.
The staff are so friendly and accommodating and provide you with many tips for activities to do during your stay. They also offer private transportation services to and from the airport which is very convenient and customised.
I would absolutely recommend staying here as you will have an amazing experience. 100%

The rooms were extremely comfortable, it has very high ceiling we felt like in Sultan’s room :) everything was clean, breakfast was super in terms of both taste and atmosphere because the breakfast area was on rooftop amazing view. All of staff were kind and helpful.

Fantastic location  close to everything.  The staff are wonderful.  Very kind and helpful. The breakfast terrace is an excellent spot to spend your time having a relaxed breakfast.

Breakfast on the whole is good but I wouldn't say exceptional.  There is however something to eat for everyone and the salads and cheeses are very good. The rooms are very clean and well stocked with toiletries,  and fresh towels are provided everyday

The only thing I would improve at breakfast is the introduction of fried eggs as the little pieces of omelette get rather samey after a couple of days.

The rooms are slightly outdated and the bathroom is quite dark. The mirror area although large does not afford you good light to see when shaving. The shower is very good though.

Down to this hotel there is an ice cream guy. 10 days ago i was walking in the main road of this hotel with my kids and my wife. Down in the corner of this hotel there was an ice cream guy, without asking, he gave to my kids and my wife by 1 ice cream. He scammed me, i had to pay 750 TL for that. I reported him to a policemen, but he couldnt help me.
Stay away from this scammer down in the corner of this hotel.

Stayed in January. 10/10 location with tram and ferry next to the hotel, 10/10 quiet nights despite location next to main street, 10/10 friendly staff (they went out of their way to help us). Very beautiful view from rooftop with breakfast. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels and water. Extremely friendly and flexible housekeepers. Looking at the reviews and our experience, it seems as if they really take the feedback into account. Initially we only intended to stay for one night, but extended and stayed for our whole trip. Very happy we did. Would come back to this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel in mid january. We had a great experience. It’s hard finding hotels in Istanbul because reviews can be so mixed and it’s hard to know what to believe. For this reason we booked one night to see if we liked it and we ended up extending for the rest of our stay. The best parts about this hotel are the location and the staff:

- Our first night we arrived pretty late and wanted to eat, a staff member walked us to the bridge where a lot of restaurants were still open. He didn’t push us or expect anything in return, just walked us as we were two young women alone and left us to decide which restaurant we wanted.
- First day we were late to breakfast because we thought it was untill 11. The lady let us fill our plates anyway and let us have breakfast and coffee (coffee and tea are available all day long)
- Fruit was brought to our room when we were away as well as bottled water.
- There was everyday cleaning with fresh towels and they refilled the soap and shampoo when we ran out. One day they even put our towels on the radiator which was a nice surprise to have warm towels after a shower.
- The location is amazing, tram, bus and even ferry less than a minute walk from the hotel. Close to the galata tower and amazing view over the bridge and several mosques.
- Despite being next to the road the hotel is soundproofed to make it easy to sleep at night.
- Only thing, the hotel is advertised as 4 or 5 stars which it probably wouldn’t be in ‘western’ standards, but for the price we paid it was great.
