I wish we could give even more stars to this incredible hotel. It is beautiful, in a great location, and the rooms are fantastic. The food options on site are amazing as well, and one of the best breakfast buffets I have had. But what makes this hotel one of the best stays I have ever had is the service.....everyone, and I mean every single staff member goes above and beyond. Friendly, helpful and well trained in all areas. So impressed. I would not stay anywhere else. Amazing experience overall.

Possibly the most disappointing experience in relation to money spent I’ve ever had in my life. Waited 3.5 hours for check in to a very costly Bosphorous Suite. Watched about 5 other rooms check into suites ahead of us despite having arrived much later. Eventually checked in way past the allotted check in time. Room smelled distinctly of cigarettes when we finally got in, and our cases were not there. Not ideal when we had waited nearly 4 hours sat in the club lounge.

They compensated us with free dinner which was admittedly very good.

But then. The room is noisy. It is noisy at night with the club below, and it was noisy at 7.45am this morning with noise from other rooms - furniture being scraped around sounded like it was next to my head. The bathroom smells odd, not clean. And tonight, per other reviews, it transpires that you can’t turn the room lights off without getting the maintenance guy to come up and smash the sh1t out of a fuse box in a closet. That was after 45 mins pressing every light switch in the room.

$1000 a night?? The Ritz Carlton is having a laugh. You’d honestly be better off sleeping on a beach. Location is decent and food is good. Lounge is nice. Breakfast was fine. But this is legitimately a very poor experience for the extravagant money, and I am highly considering going back to Soho house, where we stayed before. Which is better in every single way, and much cheaper.

UPDATED - hotel manager has made a very great effort to sort out this situation and so we are feeling somewhat pacified. Have updated the review accordingly. She has been wonderful so fair play to her for that.

My wife and I are here on a European vacation. We were excited to visit Istanbul. It's a lovely place and the people are lovely too. That said, I experienced something from RC front-line staff I though I would never see. I've been loyal to the Marriott brand for more years than I can count and am now retired. We were disappointed to learn on the one day we wanted to use the outdoor pool (since the weather was going to be so nice) that it would be closed for the entire day. And we learned this with less than 24 hours notice, in fact with only a few hours left in our day. So we went downstairs to further inquire. A lady at what I believe is their concierge desk told us that yes the pool was going to be closed for the day for an event, and the only other outdoor space was part of their restaurant Nobu. That seemed odd as an alternative suggestion. Regardless, that's not why I am leaving this review. Upon leaving the desk, I noted that one of the staff in the lobby and the lady we had been speaking with were apparently smirking, laughing as a result of our misfortune. I've been to my share of RC properties, and I've never seen anything like this from front-line staff. Makes one want to rethink their loyalty to the brand, particularly the higher end of the brand. And it's a shame too, the staff in the club and elsewhere have been lovely. Incredibly surprised and disappointed by this behavior.

This is the best of the Marriott brands in Istanbul. The hotel has everything - great people 3 restaurants and a big pool and a gym. It’s got amazing views and I highly recommend this hotel. Close to 2 ferry stations we took ferries around the river every day. It was a great trip. They always make me feel at home. Take time to talk to the people and get to know someone new.

Lovely visit for seven nights in a club suite. Spacious, spotless. Amazing views. Transportation quite easy. It’s a few blocks to some lovely shops if that’s your thing. Across street from stadium so likely a fantastic place to stay and go to an event.

The club room staff, concierge, and hospitality teams were all phenomenal. Would be happy to return again in the future.

Our first time in Istanbul was wonderful and a large part of this was the Ritz experience! From the moment we stepped in ...Bora did an excellent job of checking us in, upgrading our room and arranging our dinner and local travel plans. The restaurants were also great including the rooftop lounge. As a mariott ambassador and lifetime titanium it takes a lot to impress but this Ritz did just that!

Stayed there as a part of our honeymoon. Every single staff member showed up to help us and make us feel at home. I am a Marriott platinum member so I stay at LOTS of hotels. When I requested a complimentary upgrade I knew it was based upon availability and condition, fortunately we were granted the most beautiful suite at the corner. The room was decorated and had macarons flowers and a dessert. Also Unforgettable views that would last us a lifetime. We arrived later than expected because of airport traffic and we were going to miss our nobu reservation, when we told the staff they called to reschedule us to the last reservation available. We didn’t feel rushed and were truly taken care of. Getting a taxi is super easy and you always feel safe with extra safety barriers at the gate. I don’t know why would I choose any other hotel when I visit Istanbul next time! This stay was perfect 💖

This is the second time I have stayed here and service is beyond excellent. They accommodate every need in a very timely fashion. Nissa and Bekey at breakfast were amazing staff so much to the point I did not want to be a seated anywhere else but with them. They were professionally dressed, and well versed in English despite being Turkish. They knew our drinks prior to arriving at the table, offered to take pictures, joked with us and even offered to take back breakfast to our rooms.

Aside from this, concierge was very helpful in helping us find tourist attractions, providing us with safe transportation.

Please be aware that there will be a charge for upgrading the room. But aside from this the hallways smelled amazing and they were able to help us find even the scent to purchase on our own. Staff would come to our rooms for just about anything including 3 pin converter plugs and pillow selection when our rooms were made. They were respectful of our privacy and aware of cultural sensitivities entering the room. Contributed to my mom and my trip being amazing in Istanbul again.

We also received a welcome card and fruits. Next time as always I will be staying at this hotel again hands down.

—— Detailed Review Below ——

An upscale hotel within the Ritz Carlton family of hotels that delivers class, style, glamour and comfort — all right in the heart of Istanbul.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years - largely traveling in for meetings. The hotel is centrally located - close enough to Taksim Square and most of the attractions and sites that bring people to the city.

The rooms are comfortable, well decorated, and quite decently sized. The service is immaculate. The staff go out of their way to make the trip comfortable and enjoyable.

Verdict: Highly Recommended.
