Unfortunately, I reluctantly have to give a negative review. I wanted to give this accommodation a chance because I like their rooms and that they have everything you need for your holiday. They have a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, a dryer, a dishwasher, etc. We stayed with family last year, and we liked everything except for the noisy rooms. Last year, we stayed for 5 days, and due to the leaky windows, you could hear the surrounding bars and clubs in the evening when you were going to sleep, which played music until the early morning hours. We were in a room overlooking Istiklal Street, which was a mistake. We didn't get any sleep during our stay and were very tired.
This year, we said we would give it another chance and take a room on the other side. Before our arrival, we expressed our concerns regarding the noise and that we couldn’t sleep last year. They gave us a beautiful room, but unfortunately, it was even worse in terms of noise. The outdoor blinds and the earplugs brought by the staff didn’t help at all. It is not good on a holiday, where you want to relax, to go to sleep with earplugs in. I had to switch rooms with my son so he could get at least some sleep, while I slept in the living room, where the noise was unbearable. There were three clubs on that side that played music until 4 to 6 AM. One club was right across from our windows, and two were downstairs in the building on the other side, which the hotel also had rooms with windows facing. The whole building shook, and the couch where I slept rattled.
I want to emphasize that this second accommodation in this hotel was even worse than last year, and our entire family didn’t have the energy to explore the sights of Istanbul the next day. We were exhausted and looked forward to going home. The manager immediately offered us a different room the next day. However, suddenly, he supposedly mistakenly offered it to someone new (an Arab). Of course, they are good paying clients, so why should they relocate a family with a child to a quiet room when they can accommodate them in a noisy one?
The cherry on top was that this time the cleaner didn’t clean as they should have! I left 100 Turkish Lira for each cleaning, so that was probably too little for them. However, I am not obligated to leave a tip for cleaning; it’s just my goodwill. We pay a considerable amount for the room, so cleanliness should be a given. I intentionally placed a visibly dusty bowl in a spot where they could see it, yet they didn’t even wipe it, but they immediately found the money for cleaning!
The room was not mopped, and the nightstand was also dirty. The gentlemen at the reception are great, helpful, the best. But unfortunately, that doesn’t compensate for the lack of relaxation and comfort in their hotel. We will not visit this hotel again despite its beautiful and useful rooms. We are very disappointed.
