The people that work there are not trustworthy. They are a bunch of scammers. They target Americans and Brits. The rooms are tiny and the sink is outside the bathroom. The location is in a weird and scary place. In the lobby they have a bunch of men hanging out and as a woman, I got a real creepy feeling from them.

Hotel is at a perfect location for tourists because it is in the Old Town and it's close to many attractions. My girlfriend and I were there only for the weekend and during this time they treated us amazingly and everything was perfect. The breakfast is very delicious and there are many options to choose from. Service was amazing, every day after we left to visit the city they brought in fresh water and towels and cleaned the room. Staff was very polite, friendly and helpful and everything went smoothly from check in to check out. We will definitely come again! 10/10

I chose this hotel based on numerous positive reviews, and it truly lives up to the hype. The service in Sultan Ahmet is exceptional. The front desk staff, especially Nazar, is outstanding. He is incredibly honest and provides the best recommendations for places to visit and deals. I would rate this hotel a perfect 10 out of 10❤️🫶🏻

Beatiful quiet hotel, at downtown. Close to Topkapi, Hagia Sofia etc. Very good price nice location, clean roons and beautiful rooftop.

Really nice place, good food, clean rooms but little bit small.
Nazar the reception/ front desk guy it’s an amazing guy, he helped us with some very good tips about the restaurants, food. very hospitable people really loved it. thank you! i recommend it.

AVOID!! TYPICAL ISTANBUL OLDTOWN HOTEL SCAM!!!
You book a good looking room, everything looks fine until you are on site, they tell you there is a technical/system problem and the hotel is fully booked, then transfer you to another MISERABLE hotel nearby. As many people complained in the reviews.
It takes 30-60 minutes of arguing they call someone and takes you back to “the fully booked hotel WHICH YOU BOOKED” and suddenly there is free room for you. Does not speak english, does not answer on questions especially how it was full with people but manager to find you a room which you booked indeed?!
The actual rooms are still not very hygiene with many broken parts of the furniture.
Not recommending.

I travel a lot and have been in many hotels but this is the worst I have taken in years. The bathroom is so disgusting that I decided I am cleaner not using it. The glass for the toothbrush wasnt cleaned maybe jn years? Same on the shower, hair from previous people and mold - it is just disgusting. And one night the toilet also broke. Just dont take it not worth of your good time in holiday. I was unfortunately fooled by the reviews. And what are these half used shower gels? ugh
And then the things I dont mind but true - no elevator, super small room - thank god i am solo you cannot even put two big luggages in there and the breakfast is tasteless basic - egg, sausage, cucumber and cereal - after 4 days it is boring but mainly the tastelessness - I mean use some salt!

Thank you Sphendon hotel for everything. It was my third stay in this hotel and I am always as happy as my first stay. If you're looking for an authentic hotel, in the middle of Sultan Ahmet area and not so far from the tramway, don't hesitate to stay in Sphendon. I'll be definitely going back. Çok teşekkurler to the staff (the receptionists, the cleaning lady, and the breakfast lady), they've been so kind and helpful.

Dont be fooled by the fake reviews. This hotel sucks really bad!
First off : there are no elevators, no room service personnelle especially at night.
The rooms are super small, dirty ( we found human hair in bed, toilets, bird fecies on window,...).
The view is on a garage🥲 and in summer, it took the air conditioning one hour to get the room temperature to an acceptable level.
The area is dark, and believe me, there is a very high chance you get mugged in that region (or maybe worse). The streets were literally in a remote , still in the construction area.
Last but not least, if you cancel you (we did through the first night to show you how terrible it was), it is screwed since there is no refund even if your claims are rightly argumented!

A base, among many others, to discover Sultanhamet! Very friendly welcome and attentive to the customer. Room on the top floor to be preferred for easy access to the terrace, and its superb view of the Bosphorus! Mediocre breakfast to avoid. The olives were moldy! The days we were there, there was clearly a problem with the sewage disposal, giving off a very bad smell in the room!
