Taksim Hostel Green House

It's about a 5-minute walk from the airport bus stop, and the station is close by, so it's in a good location 👍 It's one street away from the main road, so it's quiet and even better!

The only good thing about it is the location...
The futon is just a thin piece of cloth like a curtain. The sheets were new, but there were blood stains in several places, so I guess there must be bedbugs in one of the beds (there weren't any in my bed).
The mattress fabric is thin, so I could feel the springs and it hurt. There was a locker with a key, but mine was broken and didn't lock.
The trash can in the bathroom was overflowing, the carpet in the room was dirty, and it seems that the common areas are not cleaned every day.
The customer base was not good, with people watching videos with the sound going on even after 10pm, people coughing all the time, and people suddenly turning on the lights in the middle of the night.
The kitchen was not very clean, and there was no microwave.
Also, when I checked in, the receptionist didn't speak English, which was a bit of a problem.
I would recommend this place to those who want to stay cheaply in a good location, but I don't think it would suit most Japanese people.

The location is the best thing about this place. Easily access the Kabatash ferry or Taksim Square and the popular shopping blvd. The room is cozy and they have air con that blows well. However, the staff will come in unannounced. More than one time , male staff have walked into the girls dorm without knocking or announcing their presence. The lady also comes in at all times of morning to quickly flip beds so people can come in despite their being a sign to tell you to vacate by 12 so they can clean. They instead come in at 8 or 9 making a ton of noise and then walking in again to show someone to the bed. The one male staffer can be very rude and creepy.

This was my second different hostel in Istanbul. This was at least 2x better than the other one, even though this is almost of the same price and the almost the same location.

The only 2 things for which I will highly avoid is the cleanliness of it's kitchen (it was in a pathetic shape, almost pukish) and the extremely stinky toilet. The ones that I am reviewing are in the basement. I am not sure if they had others in any other floors.

The toilet was clean yet extremely stinky. I wouldn't dare use it again.

The staff is extremely kind and helpful.
The Dorm is extremely comfortable and big.
I got 3 (and I think everyone did) lockers. Which is very kind and enough to safekeep your valuables.
The location is decent. It's near taksim square.
Public Transport is accessible.
Good WiFi.
