Wabi Sabi Hostel

This is the best hostel, by far, I have ever stayed in!
And I have stayed in hostels in Nepal, Sri Lanka and other hostels in Istanbul.

This is mainly because of its exceptional staff particularly at the Front Desk. They answer each guest's questions with welcoming Turkish hospitality. Ahmet, Mert, Ibrahim Mert, Talha and Zehra, all help with directions, where to eat the best Turkish food, (there is a great cafe directly across the street), travel within the country and, of course, any questions connected with the hostel.

There is a WhatsApp group and hostel-related activities for nearly every night of the week. Ozan works hard to make it happen.

The hostel has numerous kinds of different rooms, reasonably-priced and is in an excellent central location for exploring Istanbul!

I was in a 4-bed female room, the rooms were really clean and this was the positive point here, but one of the two shared bathrooms was broken.
The upper floor where breakfast was served had a terrace and a really great view, but cooking is prohibited there and there is only alcohol and breakfast there, for food you have to go to the restaurant outside the hotel.
A lady was serving breakfast who was alone and a bit nervous, for example, a gentleman had come 15 minutes and finished his breakfast early but didn't leave, the waitress came in front of him, took his plate and said go :)) I think that lady was worried about the place and she was telling everyone to get up and leave, but this prevented us from eating breakfast in peace.
But apart from that lady, the behavior of the rest of the staff, especially the receptionists, was great.
And one more thing, the lockers in the room did not lock and this was also not good.
And breakfast was very ordinary.
And the place to work wasn't comfortable. In fact, they didn't have a separate work room, and we could work where breakfast was served, but the chairs weren't comfortable.

I had a wonderful stay at Wabi Hostel, just a short walk from the heart of Taksim. The place is surprisingly quiet, which makes it perfect for relaxing after exploring the city.

The staff were incredibly kind and understanding. Even though the official check-in time is 3:00 pm, they welcomed me at 12:30 without hesitation. They recognized how exhausted I was after a long and tiring journey from Libya to Istanbul, and their thoughtful gesture truly made me feel cared for.

The air conditioning works perfectly and keeps the room very comfortable.

The reception staff are extremely friendly, polite, and always willing to help with anything you need.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious with plenty of variety—definitely one of the highlights of my stay.

The bathrooms are kept spotless and very well maintained.

Overall, this hostel feels both cozy and professional. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul who wants comfort, cleanliness, and warm hospitality right next to Taksim square..

It was a good stay with friendly staffs & much helpful folks in the reception. The hostel was clean & neat. The housekeeping staffs will clear the garbage's & thoroughly cleans the rest room and stay area every day promptly. The lift was not working for the first 3 days of check-in owing to a technical issue & it was sorted post weekend. The complimentary breakfast was good & had a reasonable varieties for the price. The individual heater apart the AC in the room was much useful & helpful as it was cold and freezing. The cafe opposite the hostel property was good & it helps during lazy days or for quick bites. Thankful! to all the staffs for their friendly approach & great attitude.

Forget other hostels in Istanbul ! This is the best that you can get !

When I ask the staff for making my room a bit warm during cold night, he lend me portable heater.

No need to searching for other hostels. This is it really worth the money !

NB : please buy a big luggage scale and provide glass / cup and microwave in the common area

The rooms are a bit small bit clean and tidy. Really one of the best hostels I've ever seen.
Also, don't miss the rooftop bar and say hi to Selim.

And, Ahmad (Ahmet?), the guy at the reception desk, answered any questions I had very patiently and carefully and does whatever he can to help the guests. He is a real gem.

Accommodation is very near to Taksim square. Budget friendly place with 24h reception. The nearest bus stop is just 2 min away. Rooms do have all the amenities as mentioned. But not so sophisticated. Public toilets and bath areas are plenty mostly all are unoccupied even during peak hours. Rooms are not noise proof, many times we were able to hear people talking mostly till very late at night.

Loved this hostel, comfy bunks with individual curtains and chargers. Good breakfast and views from the terrace. Social events are great and some free ones like movie nights and dinners! Staff are the best. Will stay again when I come through the city
