They tried to give me a worse room than the one I booked. The room I ended up getting had sheets as the comforter. It was weird. But I made do. I actually thought the hotel and staff were pretty good overall. The staff were really friendly.

The staff were amazing. They were wonderful with my 2.5 year old and really helped make our visit to Atlanta fun. We were able to get a renovated room which looked nice, was comfortable and had an awesome view from the balcony of Centennial Park and the Ferris Wheel. Closet was small which was the only draw back. Really liked the décor and retro looking fridge.

The restaurant staff both in the morning and at night were so friendly and helpful. On Thursday night of our stay after a long day and first plane ride my son was cranky due to no nap and eventually fell asleep while I was waiting for my husband to meet us. Our server was very understanding wrapped up my son's meal and was able to put our order to go so we could bring it upstairs and put my son to bed.

The lobby and restaurant I will be going through a bit more renovation. If it looks as good as our room it will be amazing. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Atlanta. Walking distance to the aquarium, Centennial Park and so many other things. Great location with wonderful staff.

Staying here has been an amazing. My flight was delayed for 7 hours. Instead of getting in at 9am like I had planned, I got in at 4:30pm. The people at the front desk were awesome. The guy handed me a drink voucher even though my flight ordeal had nothing to do with him. The hotel gives you 2 complimentary bottles of water, not to mention the cookie lol. My room is super nice and spacious and clean. Went to the hotel bar later and the bartender , Ashley was amazing. I just had a great time. The hotel is close to quite a few things so you could just walk around. I woulf definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Atlanta.

I went to The American Hotel Atlanta Downtown for a professional event during the afternoon. The atmosphere was very pleasant with piano music playing in the lobby. It was easy to find my way to where I was going, which is not always easy in hotels. They had catered lunch for us, and the food was very good. There was a good selection of sandwiches, along with salad, chips, soup, and several dessert options including the DoubleTree hotel's famous cookies!

The customer service is amazing. The heat in my room was broken. I didn't realize it the first nite as I am cold natured and thought it was just me so I bundled up. Then one day 2, I left the heat running with hopes that my room would would warm up. Well It never warmed up so I called the front desk. They sent up an engineer right away who was unable to fix it. They called me back with in minutes with an upgraded room. When I arrived, the heat was blasting to my liking and I received free breakfast for the remainder of my stay.

Lovely stay at this hotel. Just what we needed for a night on the town. Love the 60s inspired decor from the wallpaper down to the mini fridge. Awesome bathroom with a spacious & modern shower and vanity with great lighting. I will definitely stay again.

Stayed here during the time the Atlanta airport lost power and had 99 planes grounded. The staff was great and helped everyone check in quickly even though there were about 100 people in line to check in! Very comfortable beds, and the room was great. Only thing I didn't care for was the walls had very little sound proofing, so I heard my neighbor a lot through the night--not really a big deal though.

The entire hotel has been renovated, and it shows. The rooms were exceptionally clean and modern. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the pillows were nice and fluffy. The lobby area was cozy and inviting. And every one of the staff members was friendly and helpful.

We initially had a great experience. Check-in was easy and the room was nice. However, on our last morning, we ordered room service breakfast at 9 am. We were told it would arrive in 25 minutes. 45 minutes later, we still had no breakfast. We called room service and were told it was "on its way." Fifteen minutes later, still no breakfast. We called back to cancel and they had not even started our food. This set us back an hour on our 5-hour drive home and we still had to find breakfast.

Very cool renovated retro theme hotel. King Junior suite room was fabulous, large 2 room with large bathroom in between. Great beds and bedding, dark room, quiet perfect temperature control. Only critique would be breakfast food could be better.
