pool lounges can be tricky at times, but the staff will try to accommodate. We enjoyed the early mornings at the coffee bar with the rocking chairs. Can't wait to return!
The service is definitely not what I would consider 5*. They will not accommodate anything that’s not in their favour (despite it being our honeymoon). Parking the car at the valet cost $65 per day and then there is a mandatory $42 per day charge for ‘resort’ services which we were not even told about in advance so did not avail the whole time and they still charged us for it every day.
I am a Titanium Marriott member and this is the first time in several stays with Marriott where they have not accommodated even a little bit of a late checkout (as part of my benefits Titanium members are guaranteed late checkout until 4pm)
Not the standard I would expect and I recommend you stay at the Sheraton or Westin next door, that also have stellar beach access and likely better service.
Our room was small (as is generally the case in Waikiki), but well maintained. The beds were comfy, and the amenities were nice. The only issue we had in our room was that the a/c had a hard time keeping up!
We had complimentary breakfast at the restaurant downstairs every day. The service and food there was outstanding. We also had cocktails and snacks in the bar a couple of times which was equally high quality.
One day we preordered the pink striped umbrella and chair set up. The staff helped us get set up and took good care of us. Another day we got lucky enough to get the brown umbrella and chairs closer to the water and really enjoyed those as well.
We loved the beautiful property and although Waikiki is a little too busy for us to visit again anytime soon, we would definitely stay here again if the chance arose!
The service was horrendous. We were treated with extreme disrespect. The only good service was during breakfast with the staff. They were friendly.
We had booked a king bed and was given two smaller beds. We had to then wait a couple hours for a new room. The rooms are old and out-dated.
There was not really anything luxury about this hotel compared to other Marriott’s that we have stayed in. The luxury term should not be associated with this hotel.
This was a once in a couple year trip that we were able to get away from our toddler and celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had mentioned this to staff, but they simply ignored our important celebration. Really, it was a bad experience.
The location of the hotel is great, downtown Waikiki area.
If I knew how our experience would be, I would not have stayed here.
The noise from room to room travels. I could hear snoring, quite loudly, from the room next door.
No room service.
Hailey at the Mai Thai bar was great. She was one of the only individuals who made us feel special during our stay.
Safe to say, extremely disappointed in this hotel and our stay. Will not recommend or return back here.
The hotel’s service, stunning location, and thoughtful staff made everything feel seamless. We highly recommend the Royal Hawaiian for anyone looking for a memorable stay with top-notch customer service!
