The hotel and grounds are stunning. The staff were attentive and very friendly. The rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated with fresh towels and beds made daily. Guests here can share space with the Sheraton Hotel, which is a nice bonus. It's a popular spot, so beach and
pool lounges can be tricky at times, but the staff will try to accommodate. We enjoyed the early mornings at the coffee bar with the rocking chairs. Can't wait to return!

Grounds are absolutely stunning, really nice greenery and the pink hotel has a lovely charm. Location is also fantastic, right on the beach and in the heart of Waikiki. Sadly, that’s where the positives end.

The service is definitely not what I would consider 5*. They will not accommodate anything that’s not in their favour (despite it being our honeymoon). Parking the car at the valet cost $65 per day and then there is a mandatory $42 per day charge for ‘resort’ services which we were not even told about in advance so did not avail the whole time and they still charged us for it every day.

I am a Titanium Marriott member and this is the first time in several stays with Marriott where they have not accommodated even a little bit of a late checkout (as part of my benefits Titanium members are guaranteed late checkout until 4pm)

Not the standard I would expect and I recommend you stay at the Sheraton or Westin next door, that also have stellar beach access and likely better service.

We stayed here having booked through the Fine Hotels Collection with AX Platinum. As such, we got an upgraded room overlooking the ocean, free daily breakfast and some cash credit to use on the property.

Our room was small (as is generally the case in Waikiki), but well maintained. The beds were comfy, and the amenities were nice. The only issue we had in our room was that the a/c had a hard time keeping up!

We had complimentary breakfast at the restaurant downstairs every day. The service and food there was outstanding. We also had cocktails and snacks in the bar a couple of times which was equally high quality.

One day we preordered the pink striped umbrella and chair set up. The staff helped us get set up and took good care of us. Another day we got lucky enough to get the brown umbrella and chairs closer to the water and really enjoyed those as well.

We loved the beautiful property and although Waikiki is a little too busy for us to visit again anytime soon, we would definitely stay here again if the chance arose!

The property is beautiful. The lush plants and landscape was stunning. Beautiful grounds to walk through.

The service was horrendous. We were treated with extreme disrespect. The only good service was during breakfast with the staff. They were friendly.

We had booked a king bed and was given two smaller beds. We had to then wait a couple hours for a new room. The rooms are old and out-dated.

There was not really anything luxury about this hotel compared to other Marriott’s that we have stayed in. The luxury term should not be associated with this hotel.

This was a once in a couple year trip that we were able to get away from our toddler and celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had mentioned this to staff, but they simply ignored our important celebration. Really, it was a bad experience.

The location of the hotel is great, downtown Waikiki area.

If I knew how our experience would be, I would not have stayed here.

The noise from room to room travels. I could hear snoring, quite loudly, from the room next door.

No room service.

Hailey at the Mai Thai bar was great. She was one of the only individuals who made us feel special during our stay.

Safe to say, extremely disappointed in this hotel and our stay. Will not recommend or return back here.

We stayed at the Royal Hawaiian during our wedding week, and the experience was exceptional! Special thanks to Melody Swan, the manager, who went above and beyond to help with important wedding details. Her care and attention truly made our stay unforgettable.

The hotel’s service, stunning location, and thoughtful staff made everything feel seamless. We highly recommend the Royal Hawaiian for anyone looking for a memorable stay with top-notch customer service!

+ Awesome gracious historic hotel with lovely amenities and traditional style. I stayed in the historic building which was a buz of activity but inside the rooms, were spacious, beautifully appointed with nice amenities and very quiet out of the fray of tourist noises and convenient base of operations for the guests. Super clean and the maid staff was polite and gracious when asked for additional water and amenities needed during my stay From the valets and bellmen to check in staff and services everyone was genuinely pleasant and helpful. Be sure not to miss the free historical tour of the property. The woman who leads that tour is a state treasure! So much aloha spirit and much information and facts about the hotel's history as well as the surrounding areas. It was a highlight of the trip!
- Pricy, but well worth splashing out. Unfortunately, not more restaurant choices at the hotel. Food was just adequate there so you'll need to look outside for really good food choices.

Magnificent heritage building which still retains (and celebrates)the charm, romance and grandeur of yesteryear. Incredible front entrance through remarkable trees and tropical gardens.
Hotel team members extremely hospitible and helpful.
Absolute beachfront location.

+ Perfect location, friendly staff very accommodating.
- I understand it’s heritage hotel, but the rooms were really old and dated. I think maybe it needs a little freshen up.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating (one woman who brought room service to our son brought him a toy car on one of our last day, which made his day ?). However security came to our door because someone complained that they heard our toddler screaming all day and night, which was not accurate. The man who came to our door seemed to understand that there was nothing we could do, our toddler was in a bad mood and if he was going to cry he was going to cry. It was just upsetting that someone had to complain about it. The hotel did handle the situation well though. They moved the couple that complained and security did not come back to our room for the rest of the week. We did like the option to use the pool at the Sheraton Waikiki, our kid loved playing in it as it was more kid friendly.

Excellent experience at the Royal Hawaiian-- the location is wonderful with perfect views of diamond Head and best beach access. The rooms are good, and the food (especially breakfast) is great. I'm a platinum member, and the staff went above and beyond to make us welcome and even upgrade to a room at an busy time. Recommend if location and staff is a priority to you.
