Doubletree by Hilton Los Angeles Downtown

I did not have a great experience. I have never slept so terribly. The rooms block out ZERO noise from the street. I booked 3 rooms. One room had a draining issue. There was water and what looked like dirt sitting in the tub. Clearly housekeeping didnt clean the shower before I checked in or they would have noticed it. Was moved to another room where the shower head shot the water straight up to the ceiling. That was great -_- Rooms are smaller than they look online. Paid more for a garden view room. Wasn't worth it. I was getting married across the street. I took photos in the garden, I was told it would be best if I reserved out the area, so I did. (Almost $700) That was fine except I was charged a $200+ gratuity. Was told I was have a staff member at the site to assist with parking and any needs during my hour. NO one was around, there was a table with a sign that said "See front desk for parking" So who has my tip $?? The only reason I gave any star was because upon check in there was a very lovely and helpful women, I think he name was Alyssa. She was very nice. Other than her, my experience was not great.

We stayed here from Saturday February 17 - Monday February 20.
This place was less expensive than other hotels in the area for a reason.
The valet area and lobby/bar area reeked of weed.
Hinges to our bathroom door were loose, so door was hard to close.
Only one elevator was working our first night so there was a huge line extending into the lobby. The stairs were fine but when up on the eighth floor, it would have been an issue if we had mobility trouble.
There was a trash in the stairs to the parking garage first night and it was still there when we checked out.
Room was fine but generally worn out. This place needs a remodel and to charge more.
First night- we had incredibly noisy neighbors. A group of partying teenagers. They were blasting music, singing, knocking on our door and the shared door between our rooms. Front desk was called multiple times, they sent security to ask them to quiet down- which they did but then as soon as security walked away they were back at it. We were told that they were going to be kicked out after our second call, which was a lie. My partner called and asked to switch rooms, no dice since all rooms were full. They said they would take care of the room, they never did. I called again about the noisy neighbors and they said they would talk to them again and if it happens again they would call LAPD. The neighbors woke me up again at 4am, I called the front desk and they did nothing. The room was still noisy at 8am. All in all- they lied about taking care of the problem.

If my partner hadn't paid for this and I did- I would have checked out after first night and done a charge back on my card. I would have had a better nights rest in my car on the street.

If you decide to stay here- I hope you have a better experience than we did but I wouldn't chance it.

You couldn't pay me to stay here or any other Hilton hotel again. I'll pay the extra to stay at a hotel that isn't neglected and cares about its guests.
