The US Grant Hotel was perfect. The valet was super fast, the car was always waiting for us at the door. The staff and service was impeccable in every way. Every staff member we delt with was amazing. It was like we were the only people there. The food was very good. The location is in a great area with plenty of things to do for nightlife with in walking distance. 20 min to Sea World, 15 minutes to...
The main entrance to the hotel is actually at the back of the property. At the front of the hotel, you have to use your room card to enter. There’s no one standing at the front doors to greet you, open the door, or otherwise welcome you to property. The reception team was friendly and efficient. I recommend the complimentary tour to learn more about the history of the property.
I stayed on a high...
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel, which is in a great location. We could do without some of the homelessness around the downtown area, but the hotel maintains its elegance in its close surroundings. The room and bathroom were both spacious.
I would like to give a huge shout out to Robert (head of valet) and Jerry (head of security) for their utmost professionlism and courtesy during...
I would give 3.5 stars. As the general hotel star rating goes, this is more 4 than 5 stars. Staff was very helpful and kind. The room was fine, but pillows were not great, and there were some holes in both bottom and top sheets. The toilet was loose and moved when sitting on it. We figured that the location of the hotel would be great for exploring the city a bit, but the direct vicinity of the hotel...
The customer service at the Grant was impeccable, more than one can ask for at what I consider to be an affordable price. I stayed in room 604 which is located right beside the elevator. 24 hours a day you hear the elevator going up & down. I would recommend avoiding room 604 for this reason. It's only a guess as to why I got this room, but I was there very early before their usual check-in time...
Beautifully maintained and staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel was beautiful and cozy.
The views are amazing during sunset.
Close to everything, bars, restaurants, beach.
The breakfast is great, so much to choose from👍and the staff was very nice.
If I ever come back this is where I will book agian. 💜
The view was amazing and I enjoyed my stay here. The complimentary water and soda was a good treat. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet style which was very good. The room could of been cleaned up better (floors) and the front door was very hard to open. I would definitely return to this location because of the view.
Overall this was a beautiful and peaceful stay. The ocean view was perfect, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The TVs were huge, and we were able to watch Netflix which was great. We had a perfect sunset view, and we could walk to all the restaurants and shops and beach easily. The breakfast was really good as well. We will most likely stay here...
This has been the best vacation spot I've ever experienced.
The room was absolutely spotless when we arrived. This has got to be the best crew in Southern California in terms of cleanliness and hospitality. Absolutely unmatched. Incredibly classy decorations without going overboard. Very stylish.
It's right by the water and the view can't be beat, especially if you book a waterfront room with a balcony...
This place is so beautiful I can't believe. I had only spent time on east coast beaches as a child and this is totally different! The almostphere is so relaxed and the people are so nice! I love it here!
Great location and beautiful grounds. Staff super friendly. Rooms are modest but nice enough.

didnt impress but they did deliver on the natural beauty. prices are pretty high but youre on the beach-coronado beach no less. 15 per cushioned chair, an additional 20 for a parasol. i had a good sunbathing and masquerading as a visiting Frenchman
Beach Village at “the Del” is among my top three favorite hotels in the world (along with the Ritz Paris and Ojai Valley Inn and Spa.) The Beach Village cottages and villas are adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado, (called “The Del” by we San Diego natives), which dates back to 1888. Beach Village rooms have a casual, yet luxurious beachside vibe. Our family has stayed in the same corner room...

Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton
San Diego, 1500 Orange Avenue 🧭 Map
Beautiful, historic hotel in the beautiful setting of Coronado Island. The architecture is gorgeous. The hotel is set on a stunning beach, and is open to the public. We were touring the island, not staying at the hotel, but we felt very welcome. Parking is super expensive, but with a validated ticket and proof of having spent $50 at the hotel, you can park for $5 (not sure if that is per hour....
I did not stay here but I did walk the hotel outside and beach. It is stunning!! The property is amazing. I understand that their is a haunted room but I have not confirmed this to be true. The lobby feels very old but in a cool way. The elevator looks original. The beach is gorgeous and I would highly recommend staying here if given the chance.
I love this hotel. It has so much character to it, so many restaurants and amenities. The pool is nice, but the beach is great. There's a pizza restaurant that has pizza better than what you'll find in New York! Awesome labyrinth of shops on the lower level of the main building. Speaking of which, if you stay here, request the main building! Not only does it have soooo much character and history to...
Stayed here for meetings. Overall, a beautiful property and the food was excellent! Two meals were served on the Windsor lawn. The first at night with enough patio heaters to take off the chill. The second was lunch and what a location with a magnificent view of the Pacific ocean and the sound of waves crashing. If you get a chance, check out the Crown room. All wooden room for larger groups-an amazing...
This hotel has been so well kept over the years. Absolutely gorgeous architecture! The shops inside are so adorable! We also really enjoyed the sunset bar which had great cocktails. The sand on the beach has mica in it so it glitters like gold. It's a must see if you're in San Diego!
Beautiful hotel that you can access even if you are not a guest! That's right you can shop, walk through it, have drinks, eat or go swim on the very nicely groomed beaches. Watch as they have professional sand castles building and other fun activities. It's all free too!! I recommend parking on the south west side of the hotel if you can find a spot. There's a little beach entrance there and that...

Pendry San Diego
San Diego, 550 J Street 🧭 Map
We had a fantastic stay at the Pendry. Our room on the 11th floor was beautiful with lots of lovely touches. It was absolutely spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable. They upgraded our room as well because of it being our honeymoon and turned up with some little chocolates which was so nice. The staff were really helpful and location was great in the GasLamp quarter. The pool and jacuzzi...
Great service and nice rooms. Would 100% stay here again. For a new hotel, they are off to a great start and can't wait to see more of what's to come. I only wish that there was a way for the hotel guests use the sauna and steam room without booking a treatment. All in all, it's a great place to stay. I also like there are so many restaurants and bars all on site with good food and drinks.
The room we stayed in was the superior king and it was great. I think the room would interest a young adult or couple. We were very happy with the room, it had all things we needed to have a good night night/time in the room. The bar was stocked, there was good candies/snacks, the shower was open and all glass, and we had a great view of the pool. This is definitely a hotel to visit again. I hear the...
Fifth and Rose is a nice hotel bar. Had a few cocktails and beers the other night and was impressed with the vibe and quality of the service and drinks. It's too bad Sam Diego doesn't allow outdoor fire pit seating after midnight, though, because this bar has some nice seating.
You'll be in good hands in this place. The Pendry has some good bars and restaurants to visit. I have been to this place two times and have had a really good time in each. Both with friends and a date and both times the services was on point.
The staff is very attentive and provided us quick response time. Their service seems to always come with a friendly smile and good attitude.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in December. This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. The staff was very friendly and helpful when making reservation for restaurants and planning activities. The rooms were well maintained and had great views. Would give 5 stars but there was no AC working in my room and had to find out at 2am when I went to turn it on. So I slept with the windows open and listened to the streets all night.
However, the front desk staff and Karon “K” working valet were AMAZING and extremely friendly. Very nice hotel and great location. Would stay here again, but would like to know if AC is having issues upon arrival or...
Great staff. Valet gets a bit busy at peak times but they hustle. Rooms are good. Clean. Showers are awesome. Comfortable beds. Kimpton does sometimes but no coffee in the room. Minor issue. Wifi is fast. Pool is nice.. workout /gym is good. Would recommend.

We spent a night here during the holidays and we loved it. Very well decorated and festive, yet in a modern and classy way. Our bathroom was renovated and very nice too. I liked having a balcony with a view of the pool and downtown...
Had a blast celebrating my Birthday and the 4th of July, the staff went out of their way to make our stay incredible! The room was gorgeous, and the bed very comfy, can’t say enough about the showers also! We were close to everything. Thank you again for an amazing memorable stay!
This was the view from our room! The staff was great! The rooms were clean and smelled fresh when we walked in. This is near the airport but we really couldn’t hear the noise! I enjoyed watching the planes! Also, they are pet friendly, I think, they are near a nice dog park! I wish I had known because I left my puppy with family when I could have brought her with me!

Beautiful hotel with a fantastic spa. I got color done on my hair and was very happy with the result. The staff is truly lovely, and the grounds and facilities are immaculate.
I played a wonderful round of golf at the Grand, followed by drinks in the restaurant. The grounds and course are absolutely top notch. Our experience was enhanced tremendously by our caddie, Joe. After a wonderful round, we enjoyed a couple rounds of drinks in the restaurant. The staff was warm and welcoming. Overall, the experience was fantastic.
Best hotel in San Diego, the grounds are excellent, well taken care of, and beautiful. The staff is very nice, and even though I’ve never stayed here, (I just attend events and various fund raisers there), I’m sure the rooms are incredible as well. The tea here is a must-do and I was very honored to attend one.
This hotel is the most amazing hotel in Del Mar. The staff is incredible, the views are amazing, it is without a doubt a wonderful place to stay. The staff are all amazing. They go above and beyond to help you and the servers are amazing. Especially Valdemar at Amaya.

This place is absolutely gorgeous, inland off the 56 in Del Mar. Golf, spa, hiking, super nice restaurants. Service is tops. Decor is classic, ornate. Antiques, heavy mouldings, vast rooms and floral arrangements. Horseback riding available! Must try: Amaya eggs for breakfast. Special occasions, big fountain out front, lovely views.
I've stayed here twice, once for a photoshoot and once for my mom's birthday. Both times were absolutely fantastic. The grounds are simply breathtaking. I love walking around this place, it feels like you're walking around a castle. The first room I had included a beautiful balcony, as did the second. The second also had a lovely soaking tub, which I enjoyed every day we were there. I've eaten at every...

The Lodge has a very rustic feel, similar to what you'd find in the Yosemite area. Very spacious rooms. Fire pits are located throughout the property and fun to use at night. Very large pool with a bar and towel service. Steps away from the golf course. Ocean views from some parts of the property. Would definitely stay here again!
First time to this property and it ranks amongst the best service we've ever had. Very attentive staff and super well maintained. Great food, views and facilities. Everyone was sincerely friendly and always willing to help.
We ate in the Grill. Everyone talks about the hamburger, not impressed. The Burger Lounge is better. But service was excellent as was the chocolate croissant pudding.
We had lunch on the patio overlooking the pool and golf course. We were immediately seated and a team of servers attended our table. The food was prepared and delivered with great care. Fresh whole wheat or sourdough bread was offered by a roaming server. I had the Crushed Kale and Citrus Salad, it was perfection in every sense of the word. The moist and juicy Brick Chicken was thoughtfully seasoned...

The room service is not a good option , they delay a lot and the food is not so good !
A variety of great restaurants to pick. A historic area with charming buildings and a great atmosphere.
Its exactly what you pay for. A hotel room right smack dab in the middle of the Gaslamp District. It's not too fancy but it's not run down either. The bathrooms and showers are shared, by that I mean there's a bathroom/shower on the floor but it's not actually connected to your room.
All in all I would stay here again.

I stayed here for a week during my conference. It was an amazing experience. Affordable, historic, and walking distance from anywhere you may need to go. The host, Katherine, was so hospitable and helpful. Its very quiet for the area it is in, and rooms, showers, and restrooms are clean. I would absolutely stay again if i went back. I miss the beautiful patio overlooking the street already!!
Somewhere between hostel and hotel you have to love this place for what it is. Yes, you can hear the street easily and the shower / bathroom facilities are shared, but everything is clean and the individual running the front desk is personable and available. Affordable, great location

Had a wonderful three-day stay at the Gaslamp Marriott in San Diego! The location is perfect—just steps away from Petco Park and surrounded by downtown attractions. The hospitality was excellent, and it was a great escape from the heat of Arizona. Highly recommend this hotel for your next getaway!
Rooms are pretty clean but dated and have carpeting, just not my preference. Needs a renovation. Location is great. 2 of the 4 elevators were out for servicing.
It's a good hotel. We stayed only one night but we didn't really get that experience of a 4-star hotel. Price was reasonable, we booked it last minute. Reception staff was not very friendly. I guess they had a sold-out weekend and were a bit overwhelmed.
The room is nice, nothing fancy but well appointed. We got a king-size bedroom and the bed was comfortable as you would expect in most Marriot hotels...
To be clear: the staff at this place is incredibly kind and amazing. However, this is by far the oldest and most outdated Marriott I've stayed in. During my time here, my sink clogged, was cleared, but then filled back up without me even using it because the sink is connected to the next door room (gross!).
They did move me to a different room immediately and gave me some Marriott points, but for...
The room was a good size. Two Queen beds. When I emailed the hotel to mention our other son was joining us for two nights. The hotel moved our booking to a larger room to enable us to have a roll bed for our son. The room overlooked the Baseball stadium. The location is great for visiting the stadium, and the rest of the city. Valet parking was superb.
Location is ok but for the price a small fridge and pool would be have been nice for a 5 day stay at this price point. The carpet is sticky and has many stains so keep your shoes on. A strong positive is that they allowed for an early check- in (flight arrived at 10am) with no additional charge.

I was here recently for the IVAT conference. Though I wasn't able to secure a room in this hotel, all the other facilities that I used during the week were superb. There was a fly issue early in the week but by the end of the week I think most of the flies had been contained. My only complaint if I had one was the lunch that we were offered. It was $20 for each day and I have to admit, what they were...
We stayed here for just one night at one of the suites. The room was nice and had a nice view over the city on the 12th floor. They have a nice pool and cafe area with some entertainment activities like ping pong table. I didn't like the grilled chicken sandwich by the pool. Chicken was very dry and the bread didn't taste good either. The restaurant opens at 4pm. I went for the breakfast downstairs...
Overall it is great, we had breakfast included in our booking. The room is good, service is good, but they really need to do something about flies in their breakfast buffet room. We saw fruit flies on the bread when we tried to take tongs from the bread plate on day one, on day two, the bread was covered, but there was a big fly on the ham, after that, we don’t want to have any food there.
We stayed 3 nights in a corner room on the 3rd floor on July 20, 2023 overlooking the pool. The property and rooms were very nice, we enjoyed the pool, tennis courts, breakfast, and paid $35 for covered parking. Complimentary water bottles each day of our stay was very nice.

Beautiful property right on the ocean - hotel staff is friendly and efficient. Breakfast buffet has something for everyone - eggs, fruit, oatmeal, interesting frittatas, etc. Wines are spectacular. Love the atmosphere of Mustangs and Burros for casual dining. Outside area is comfortable. Heaters made it easy to sit around enjoying a glass of wine and chatting with friends.
My husband surprised me with a staycation here over valentines weekend. It was quite beautiful! The spa was amazing and highly recommended. We also went for brunch and the buffet had a little bit of everything for everyone. They also had a Bloody Mary bar.
Very nice hotel. Great restaurants. Guests during the week tend to be rowdy sales folks so bar gets super loud at night. Otherwise, wonderful hotel and spa.
The food was good. Few heaters on the patio were broken or at least we were told that when we asked to be seated by the heater. The desert was slightly dry, but it might be us expecting mind blowing desert after the great 3 course meal.

The room was very nice and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was also easy to reach and in walking distance of the sea.
My 40th birthday bash at The Pearl Hotel in San Diego for 28 of my closest friends and family was an absolute blast. I can't stop raving about the unmatched hospitality from the staff, especially the General Manager, Anthony. He made sure every detail was perfect and our comfort was a top priority.
The hotel's chic retro vibes set the stage perfectly for our celebration. It was so easy to accommodate...
Excellent stay. Really blown away. This is a 5-star hotel. Rooms were impeccable and very tastefully designed and decorated. Bed was nice and soft, one of the best sleeps I’ve ever had. Service was attentive and accommodating. All very civilized clientele. Restaurant is amazing. I could only stay one night, but I am definitely coming back
We stayed at The Pearl to celebrate our birthdays (they're a day apart) and had the absolute best time. The staff was great, bed was comfortable, the drinks at the bar were amazing and dinner by the pool with the bistro lights was so cozy. We loved having a cute little patio to have coffee on in the morning too. Such a fun boutique hotel vibe. Will definitely be sending my family to stay here when...
This is a cute boutique hotel. The rooms were nice but our room smelled very mildewy and we couldn't get the tv to work with the wifi . That was a bummer because I am a wedding planner and I use the TV to help me wind down after a 14 hour day . The gentleman at the front desk was amazing . He bent over backwards to help us with our early arrival.
We loved it! Beautiful design, quiet room, and great restaurant.

Beautiful room with great view of the beach. Hotel had free bikes to check out which was nice. Shower soap is bar soap
We stayed 3 nights over a weekend. The location is good with walking distance to the ocean and some coffee places. Our room was on the third floor. It had plenty of space, two queen size beds and a nice restroom. There are several amenities (pool and fitness center), which we didn't use. We grabbed food at the Cusp restaurant on the top floor: the brunch was expensive but the views were worth it. The...
A bit dilapidated from its previous owners, Hotel La Jolla still offers a pleasant stay. The best part here are the views, whether from a higher floor guest room or their restaurant at the top. The restaurant is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and the food isn't half bad. Guest rooms do show sings of wear and tear but the balcony and interesting shower design make up for it. Also disappointing is...
I loved this hotel its a great location, the food at Cusp is amazing and everyone was very friendly. I would recommend to anyone looking for a staycation. The pool is warm 80 degrees. The parking is pricey at 37 dollars a day but there is off street parking available. There are cute shops in walking distance and the beach is a 5 minute walk.
Beautiful hotel inside and out. Great staff, and the bar at the top provides great views on the bay.
Very big hotel easy to get lost in it But there are plenty of people ( employees who are willing to help you.

Recently stayed at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. The location is right by the water, couple of restaurants at walking distance. There’s a USS Midway aircraft carrier museum nearby to walk to as well.
I stayed at a basic room in the North Tower. Rooms are big with wide balcony facing the street. Good rooms decor and space. Bed is comfy. Bathroom doesn’t have exhaust fan. Balconies have small...
During my recent stay, I had the privilege of encountering Jeremy, the valet guy, and I can't say enough good things about him. Jeremy's kindness and willingness to go the extra mile in helping me locate my misplaced belongings truly made my trip memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend Jeremy and the place he represents for an exceptional stay. Thanks to a good experience that made my stay wonderful
Nice resort with a gorgeous pool area.
Rooms are modern and clean with daily housekeeping services. The property has several restaurants onsite but is also within walking distance of many more.
The pool area has a tropical feel along with 2 hot tubs. The pool bar offers drinks and food at a reasonable price.
The Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina epitomizes Southern California charm in the most elegant way. Perfectly positioned at the heart of the vibrant city, this hotel offers a spectacular vantage point to the shimmering marina, a sight that serves as a delightful backdrop during both sunrise and sunset.

This is a very large bowl and conference center. The staff was very attentive and responsive. Our room was on the 8 th floor of the south tower with a view overlooking the bay and the swimming pool area. There are several restaurants and many different shops. I loved this place. Good food and great view of the promenade and beach with surfers.
Yummy
We ate at the restaurant. The food was all good, as was my margarita. Our oysters were brought out late so they comped them, very nice. I wish there were more exciting vegetarian options.
Since it opened this property has been consistently able to deliver good service, there are several decks, upper and lower where you can people watch along the boardwalk, the drinks are great and the menu is good. The food is presented well and the staff is professional. The upstairs fire pit area is secluded and a great place to snuggle and have a cocktail during the day, with lounge chairs, like...

Guest service was excellent, from the valet to the front desk to the restaurant servers and more. The hotel and room (which had an amazing view by the way) were very clean. Food and drinks were great. They provided a cradle (not a toy) for my baby. The lobby was colorful and stylishly quirky. I would definitely stay there again.
Our family visited the HOTEL FROM HELL on our last trip to San Diego. Before leaving, we decided to find another hotel where everyone could enjoy good taste. THANK YOU, we found this gem. From the very beginning we had a wonderful experience. We made the reservation with Ashley who was at the front desk. She was very kind and accommodating to our crazy kids. She truly made the experience wonderful...
Nice space/room. Nice views. Conveniently located. Decent parking options (for a downtown hotel). Decent outside pool area.
Overpriced would be an understatement, however... Only so-so food choices at the hotel itself - and again, overpriced. But the local area has so much to offer food-wise, you can just about overlook that...
Absolutely beautiful hotel inside and out.. the lounge areas, pool areas and surrounding ocean views are stunning..the rooms are very nice and very clean..the only downside is that there is no mini fridge to keep drinks cool. Very central area for walking to the local shops and restaurants in the Gaslamp district...recommend a taxi if you would like to visit the Little Italy District but well worth...
This is my go to place when I travel to San Diego. The hotel is incredible. The staff is really friendly and helpful. There place is always clean and the views of Coronado and the bay are incredible. If you ever have a chance, you must attend the New Years Eve party here. There is nothing like it!
Should be 5 stars but there were a few things off when we went. The room I wasn't THAT impressed with out of such a high spending place like the Hilton. The views were absolutely breathtaking. At night... BE PREPARED to hear big booms and such all night long from the boats being loaded with containers. If you at all have the chance book the north west side of the hotel as most of the container ships...

I just finished checking in and chatting with a lovely lady named Guadalupe. Great experience, stayed for 7 nights and slept like a baby.) Very good service, clean rooms. Delicious food in the restaurants, coffee in the lobby - everything you need to feel at home. The only thing is in the parking lot you have to use your room key to get in and out and the "blue dot" is sort of low to the ground and you have to get out of the car to unlock it if you have an SUV or...
A very good holiday for your money. My room was a little small, but the balcony and view were very relaxing and private. You see planes landing. They have 1 hour free bike rental which can be extended for $8/hour. Water skiing, whale tours. The police station in the block is patrolled, it is safe to walk/drive within a 3 mile radius. Unbelievable place! Perfect location far from the crowd. Very friendly staff. Nice rooms, and very very dog friendly. Yes there are ants but it's expected near the ocean. Love this place! I don't think we'll stay anywhere else.
Found a great deal on this hotel that was recommended by a friend. After 2 years of looking but a reasonable rate finally opened up. No issues checking in. View of the marina. We had dinner at the Vessel and it was great. The variety of food was good and the drinks were very unique. They even had a live band playing and there was no fee to listen. The service was outstanding. We really enjoyed the restaurant.
Beautiful area with awesome firepits overlooking the boat arena. A great place to stay if you want to disconnect from things, but still be close enough to drive to activities. However it is pretty far from anything if you like to go out walking to explore the area.
Great location right off Shelter Island and I had a very pleasant stay, but it definitely shows signs of it's age. The phone in my room looked and worked as if it was from the 90s. Although it has a great view off the peninsula it feels pretty isolated, you need a car to get anywhere.

So far this has been a great trip. The check in was very smooth and we were greeted with a glass of champagne. the lobby was open and expansive with a great view of the Coronado Bay. We love the view, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was amazing with a deep soaking tube that made my wife very happy!...
Pool is great for kids and the pool staff is amazing! They really care about guest having a good time and go above and beyond what is expected. The hotel itself was awesome! Staff was awesome! Rooms were beautiful and clean! I’m only giving it a 4 star because of the beds. I was so uncomfortable all 3 nights. Our room needed a new mattress and the pillows were terrible on my neck. Hotels need better pillows in general but this hotel room needed a whole new bed.
This hotel is something else, from the beautiful views to the convenience of location in the middle of San Diego downtown/bay. The cleanliness and attention to detail is second to none , from the warm welcome as you arrive from the front drive men, to the greetings from the front desk agents entering their gorgeous lobby. Michael Savage id like to add was a saving grace , as our trip was slightly changed...

Valet service was excellent and people at the front desk friendly.
They have a breakfast buffet if you want to eat close by. Pool and hot tub closes at 10 located on 3rd floor. 24 hour access to fitness with ellipticals, treadmills, bikes and more. Heated towels are also available. Beds are cozy as are the comforters. Business center is convenient. $.65 per page to print 1st 15 minutes are free. Access to wifi via your room number.
I only spent a short amount of time here but the staff were extremely helpful and efficient. The interior has a very modern look to it. The room I visited was fairly spacious. The only negative comment I have is that finding parking at this location was a tad difficult. It may be easier if you are actually staying at this hotel but as I was visiting a friend, it was difficult to find on street parking
This hotel is amazing! The room was great, the service was excellent, and the location was prime for pretty much anything you could want to do. I absolutely loved my time in San Diego and can't wait to come back:)
The experience was quite good. Room was clean. Check-in and Check-out were painless. Decent bar, reception area. We did get a bit mixed-up between this hotel and another Westin 3 blocks down the same main street. That one is a little closer to the Gaslamp, if that's in your plans.
This review is for coffee/cafe area only. Stopped by to have coffee with some colleagues while in town. Grabbed coffee and banana bread. Both were good and fairly priced - about what you would pay at Starbucks or Peet's. Seating was plentiful and the space was pretty quiet even with other tables occupied. The Westin is attached to an office building so I assume it caters mainly to business crowd.

Great Day Rate Hotel
We stayed here for about 6 hours by calling and getting their Day Rate (about $100 less than regular rate). The hotel feels like you're tucked away in a nature resort on a bay. While the outside of the hotel looked dated, the rooms were all brand new, spacious, and clean! The bed was extremely soft and comfortable. The pool area was small, but it had everything kids need to have...
I liked this hotel a lot! A bit pricey but you have everything you need in one place. There is a complimentary 1 hour bike/ board rental with your stay. You can go for a great run from there as well!
Also, great breakfast!
Minus: the parking fee is $38 for a night!
It's a good hotel in a great location. The pools and hot tub were an excellent way to spend the evening. Be warned: be sure to consider the resort and parking fees in addition to the advertised nightly charge... And with parking at $38/day, it's a substantial difference. We had to change from the original room due to sewage gas backing up from the toilet. They switched the room upon request, but some...
Room in the main building is poor. I'm a Marriott girl.. reminds me why I avoid the Hyatt. Lovely noisey elevator forecasts a terrible night sleep. Property is pretty.. but who cares if sleep is bad.
I stayed Sunday night 10/22 with an ocean view king bed. Hotel is great, view is fantastic, swimming area well maintained. However, customer service is lacking. The bar/restauant in the pool area, you have to get the waiter/bartenders attention if you want something. No complimentary breakfast. I enjoyed the room, but overall experience was lacking. It seemed like every employee was just there to collect...
In my teens, my family took us here for a 2 night stay and it's one of my better hotel memories growing up.
Walking distance to Sea World, and of course the San Diego sandy beach. The active pier is a plus.
There is an elite club on the top floor with complementary treats, as well as a restaurant on the first floor.
Pool and gym are outstanding, especially gym which is on the water of the bay.
