Y’all know it has to be GREAT for me to give it five stars. The views, the location and most of all the staff make this hotel the best in the area. It was a quick and easy drive to the USS Midway. The pool and slides are well maintained. The beds are very comfortable. You can hear the Sea Lions barking from the courtyard. With all the well manicured foliage you feel like you’re on an island oasis. It’s for sure a “must not miss”.

Upon arrival to start our stay with the hotel we were greeted by John a wonderful and friendly bell concierge assistant. He immediately offered to unload several boxes and escorted us to our room. He went above and beyond as a professional, compassionate Hyatt team member.
Than we also experienced first hand support from Oz one of the hotel managers, he went above and beyond to ensure we had the rooms needed for our stay. The Marina Suites two queens beds two room suite was absolutely beautiful overlooking the marina full of boats, yachts, etc.
We also had a great experience with Phill who greeted me with a friendly smile, handshake, and offered several suggestive ideas on various topics from winery, restaurants, and attractions.
In all we were extremely satisfied by the staff and met all of our hotel hospitality needs.

We really liked our 3 days stay. It was my husband's birthday and we got an upgrade to a corner suite with an incredible view. The room was very large, clean and it had everything we needed. The Red Marlin restaurant needs an upgrade but it get points for convenience. The front desk personnel are extremely friendly and welcoming. Location is perfect if you want to be a little away from downtown (we did!) but the views are nonetheless gorgeous. We were very pleased with our staycation!

Booked 2 queen standard room and received high floor ocean view room. The room location was very nice and appreciated. The room itself was very clean but outdated. Toilets had cracks and felt out it was an older model that uses about 5-gallons per flush. Shower head was again one of the older designed that used a lot of water but had no pressure. Bed was clean and the furniture didn't seem to have any damage which was nice.
Service was good and the whole hotel grounds were well-kept. Pool was very nice too. It does get crowded there and not many lounge chairs for the amount of people it can hold.
Breakfast at the Red Marlin was great, although the item list wasn't extensive.
Parking was $50 a night, which is not cheap, but what can you do.
The location is NOT very ideal unless you have a car, or can afford to Uber to places. Good news is that the walking path surrounding the hotel is not as busy as the main tourist area around the Midway shipyard.

Great Location for Families Visiting San Diego!
I recently stayed here with my daughter and a friend and her daughter. We were in a queen Marina Suite and found it very pleasant and spacious enough for the 4 of us. The girls used the front room with the couch as their hangout space, which left the bedroom area nice and tidy.
As some have mentioned, the rooms on the Marina Suite side are a bit older and have a bit of wear and tear. However, our suite was clean and comfortable with a lovely view of the marina!
We found the location to be ideal for all of our excursions. For us, it was nice to be on the water and a little removed from the hustle of downtown.
My favorite aspect of the hotel was the service though. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating! Big shout out to Eileen Flores at the front desk. She went above and beyond, offering to let us borrow beach toys for our beach day. She and her staff are the best!

The environment is very good, the restaurant is delicious, the room is comfortable, the view is great, the hotel is a little old, but it is well maintained. The restaurant has a service charge plus a tip, and the extra cost is a bit high. But it is still highly recommended!
