People usually take the time to write when they are unhappy. I take the time to acknowledge a few who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Please let them know that we sincerely appreciate going the extra mile to make us comfortable and welcome. I know staffing and return protocols can be an issue. My girlfriend and I were meeting some of her family down the SD for the weekend. We had booked the Hilton several weeks prior to our stay. Upon arriving at the Hilton the managers says they gave our room to someone who needed to extend their stay. I told that had nothing to do with us. They claimed they called us to confirm our stay, which they never did. They did put us up in another hotel which was both nice but inconvenient at the same time. They also said they would refund the first nights stay for the inconvenience. It's been several weeks and we have still not seen the refund.

I paid $531for two nights for the loft side, the price is not worth it.... I've paid way less else where for a room that are much nicer, cleaner and have a $15 charge for parking, here it's $50 a night. To top it off there is to complementary breakfast. Never will I stay at the Hilton San Diego, NEVER.

The experience was quite good. Room was clean. Check-in and Check-out were painless. Decent bar, reception area. We did get a bit mixed-up between this hotel and another Westin 3 blocks down the same main street. That one is a little closer to the Gaslamp, if that's in your plans.

This hotel is located in a fantastic spot. Just a couple of issues we had: 1- bathtub had some hair in it and 2 - booking was a pain...I had originally booked to stay 3 nights and had to cut it down to 2 nights, but the manager said we had to book for a 2 night minimum stay at a higher rate. I booked it, but called a couple days later to cancel the room altogether, the nice guy at the front desk said we can absolutely do just 1 night and the rate was lower than what the other lady told us. When we got there, though, the lobby was beautiful and the staff was very friendly.

Great location in the gas lamp district and excellent staff that will go above and beyond. Rooms are well appointed, bar and restaurant available in the lobby. There's also a business center for web searches and printing when needed. No free parking but valet is available for $50/night. There's a 24 hour convenience store across the street for everything from a six pack to a sandwich if you're not feeling room service or the plentiful restaurants around.

Nostalgic. Beautiful. Walking distance. Hotels can be pricey, but worth it! And here's why; Gas lamp has everything! Baseball stadium, bars, restaurant's, sights, rickshaws! All within walking distance for the most part. There is even water taxi's, and close to Coronado! There is an old battleship museum, and of course SeaWorld is around the corner! Parking however, sucks! Expensive, even at the hotel your staying at!

We found the room to be clean and spacious. We especially enjoyed being able to open the sliding door on Juliette balcony to enjoy fresh air. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They even messaged us during our stay to see if there was anything we needed. The location is super convenient to the conference center, restaurants and Petco Center. I would stay here again. Pricing was less than other major hotels nearby. The vibe if this Hilton reminded me of a boutique hotel.
