Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa
San Diego, 2000 Second Street 🧭 Map
3rd floor, pool/bay side. Excellent experience.
Great location. With in walking distance to restaurants and a few small beaches. Also not very far from the main Beach at Coronado. Rooms were also very clean and spacious. I will be coming back to the hotel many times to come
Spent a night there for our anniversary. Ground floor room was large, clean, a short walk to all the amenities and had a great view of the San Diego skyline from the private patio. We had all of our meals at the restaurant. Food and service were excellent. Breakfast buffet was a little pricey but the choice is worth it if you have a good appetite. Made use of the included bike rental to burn off some...
Very family friendly, and nice modern rooms. Convenient to locations on Coronado island, but have to make a crossing otherwise. Kids will love the pool. You'll also see military helicopters always flying nearby due to the naval air station nearby.
Beautiful view of the San Diego skyline, and a wonderful staff that had such a positive attitude. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The pool was awesome. You could spend an entire trip at that pool and be pleased. Everything was top notch except the ridiculously high priced menu items offered for room service.
Excellent location. Very nice rooms. Lots of little shops and places to eat within walking distance. Access to ferry to downtown within walking distance. Only reason it's not a 5 is because of the insane mark-up on snacks and drinks. Pro tip: the vending machine Gatorade is $2.50; at the gym? $5.

Context: Stayed her for 2 nights while attending a conference. Someone else was paying. Positives: Impressive entrances. Comfortable space. Room window opened. Negatives: Pretty basic shower. Everything about the hotel was super expensive. Notes: Interesting views over the naval base - I've not seen aircraft carriers in real life before. Summary: If you can afford to stay here, it's probably a...
I was here for a business conference. Rooms are quiet and the windows open which is nice to let fresh air in. They don’t use fragrance or air fresheners in lobby and common areas which is great since I find them bothersome. Beds and pillows super comfortable. A special shout out to Annabelle. The housekeeper who serviced my room. She was so nice and friendly and even had a robe and slippers delivered...
I had the chance to spend four days at this hotel for a conference in September 2023, marking my first visit to San Diego, CA. Prior to my arrival, I had already booked two cruise voyages. When I arrived at the hotel on Sunday morning around 8am, although check-in was scheduled for 4pm, they pleasantly surprised me by providing the room eight hours earlier. This flexibility was much appreciated! After...
The view was spectacular. I could sit and look out these windows over the harbor all day long! I love the fact that the scenery changes with every boat/ship that goes by. City lights at night were equally spectacular. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub while attending a conference here. Lots of restaurants, walking distance. Fantastic experience!
I stayed here for an Insurance Convention. When I arrived my room was ready and was upgraded to a higher floor with a great view. I ate the first night at the Landing which I had a grilled chicken Cesar Salad. It was pretty good with plenty of chicken. The only thing I would suggest is having the Cesar dressing already mixed in, I really don’t like mixing it myself as the bowl was filled high with...
Really enjoyed our stay! Really friendly staff. Zach gave us great suggestions and Nick was a great help as well. Great view, best location to the seaport and gas lamp, and walking distance to restaurants and entertainment. The beds are very comfortable and the hotel is very clean. Beautiful views of the bay with many amenities! Will come back and stay here again and recommend 10/10.

Recently stayed at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. The location is right by the water, couple of restaurants at walking distance. There’s a USS Midway aircraft carrier museum nearby to walk to as well. I stayed at a basic room in the North Tower. Rooms are big with wide balcony facing the street. Good rooms decor and space. Bed is comfy. Bathroom doesn’t have exhaust fan. Balconies have small...
During my recent stay, I had the privilege of encountering Jeremy, the valet guy, and I can't say enough good things about him. Jeremy's kindness and willingness to go the extra mile in helping me locate my misplaced belongings truly made my trip memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend Jeremy and the place he represents for an exceptional stay. Thanks to a good experience that made my stay wonderful
Nice resort with a gorgeous pool area. Rooms are modern and clean with daily housekeeping services. The property has several restaurants onsite but is also within walking distance of many more. The pool area has a tropical feel along with 2 hot tubs. The pool bar offers drinks and food at a reasonable price.
The Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina epitomizes Southern California charm in the most elegant way. Perfectly positioned at the heart of the vibrant city, this hotel offers a spectacular vantage point to the shimmering marina, a sight that serves as a delightful backdrop during both sunrise and sunset. One of the standout features of the hotel is its unbeatable location. Nestled right by the bay,...
This is a very large bowl and conference center. The staff was very attentive and responsive. Our room was on the 8 th floor of the south tower with a view overlooking the bay and the swimming pool area. There are several restaurants and many different shops. Guest service was excellent, from the valet to the front desk to the restaurant servers and more. The hotel and room (which had an amazing view by the way) were very clean. Food and drinks were great. They provided a cradle (not a toy) for my baby. The lobby was colorful and stylishly quirky. I would definitely stay there again.
Our family visited the HOTEL FROM HELL on our last trip to San Diego. Before leaving, we decided to find another hotel where everyone could enjoy good taste. THANK YOU, we found this gem. From the very beginning we had a wonderful experience. We made the reservation with Ashley who was at the front desk. She was very kind and accommodating to our crazy kids. She truly made the experience wonderful...
Nice space/room. Nice views. Conveniently located. Decent parking options (for a downtown hotel). Decent outside pool area. Overpriced would be an understatement, however... Only so-so food choices at the hotel itself - and again, overpriced. But the local area has so much to offer food-wise, you can just about overlook that...
Absolutely beautiful hotel inside and out.. the lounge areas, pool areas and surrounding ocean views are stunning..the rooms are very nice and very clean..the only downside is that there is no mini fridge to keep drinks cool. Very central area for walking to the local shops and restaurants in the Gaslamp district...recommend a taxi if you would like to visit the Little Italy District but well worth...
This is my go to place when I travel to San Diego. The hotel is incredible. The staff is really friendly and helpful. There place is always clean and the views of Coronado and the bay are incredible. If you ever have a chance, you must attend the New Years Eve party here. There is nothing like it!
Should be 5 stars but there were a few things off when we went. The room I wasn't THAT impressed with out of such a high spending place like the Hilton. The views were absolutely breathtaking. At night... BE PREPARED to hear big booms and such all night long from the boats being loaded with containers. If you at all have the chance book the north west side of the hotel as most of the container ships...

Great experience, stayed for 7 nights and slept like a baby.) Very good service, clean rooms. Delicious food in the restaurants, coffee in the lobby - everything you need to feel at home. A very good holiday for your money. My room was a little small, but the balcony and view were very relaxing and private. You see planes landing. They have 1 hour free bike rental which can be extended for $8/hour. Water skiing, whale tours. The police station in the block is patrolled, it is safe to walk/drive within a 3 mile radius. The airport is across the street, so don't worry about missing...
They took care of a clean and beautiful place where we can comfortably accommodate. I liked the way we were placed. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing. I had a great time staying at this prestigious hotel. I highly recommend it to everyone.
It was a good experience for me for the first time. This amazing hotel won my heart! I will give this place my "5" rating for the great and awesome help they gave me. They deserve high marks! Unbelievable place! Perfect location far from the crowd. Very friendly staff. Nice rooms, and very very dog friendly. Yes there are ants but it's expected near the ocean. Love this place! I don't think we'll stay anywhere else.
Found a great deal on this hotel that was recommended by a friend. After 2 years of looking but a reasonable rate finally opened up. No issues checking in. View of the marina. We had dinner at the Vessel and it was great. The variety of food was good and the drinks were very unique. They even had a live band playing and there was no fee to listen. The service was outstanding. We really enjoyed the restaurant.
Beautiful area with awesome firepits overlooking the boat arena. A great place to stay if you want to disconnect from things, but still be close enough to drive to activities. However it is pretty far from anything if you like to go out walking to explore the area.
Great location right off Shelter Island and I had a very pleasant stay, but it definitely shows signs of it's age. The phone in my room looked and worked as if it was from the 90s. Although it has a great view off the peninsula it feels pretty isolated, you need a car to get anywhere.

Beautiful, historic hotel in the beautiful setting of Coronado Island. The architecture is gorgeous. The hotel is set on a stunning beach, and is open to the public. I did not stay here but I did walk the hotel outside and beach. It is stunning!! The property is amazing. I understand that their is a haunted room but I have not confirmed this to be true. The lobby feels very old but in a cool way. The elevator looks original. The beach is gorgeous and I would highly recommend staying here if given the chance.
I love this hotel. It has so much character to it, so many restaurants and amenities. The pool is nice, but the beach is great. There's a pizza restaurant that has pizza better than what you'll find in New York! Awesome labyrinth of shops on the lower level of the main building. Stayed here for meetings. Overall, a beautiful property and the food was excellent! Two meals were served on the Windsor lawn. The first at night with enough patio heaters to take off the chill. This hotel has been so well kept over the years. Absolutely gorgeous architecture! The shops inside are so adorable! We also really enjoyed the sunset bar which had great cocktails. The sand on the beach has mica in it so it glitters like gold. It's a must see if you're in San Diego!
Beautiful hotel that you can access even if you are not a guest! That's right you can shop, walk through it, have drinks, eat or go swim on the very nicely groomed beaches. Great service and nice rooms. Would 100% stay here again. For a new hotel, they are off to a great start and can't wait to see more of what's to come. I only wish that there was a way for the hotel guests use the sauna and steam room without booking a treatment. All in all, it's a great place to stay. I also like there are so many restaurants and bars all on site with good food and drinks.
The room we stayed in was the superior king and it was great. I think the room would interest a young adult or couple. We were very happy with the room, it had all things we needed to have a good night night/time in the room. Fifth and Rose is a nice hotel bar. Had a few cocktails and beers the other night and was impressed with the vibe and quality of the service and drinks. It's too bad Sam Diego doesn't allow outdoor fire pit seating after midnight, though, because this bar has some nice seating.

Excellent Hotel definitely 5 Star in my book. Great bar with live music on the weekends. Be sure to shop wisely for rates. I got a great deal on my stay, but a mouth later the price was WOW! Room service was great. Room was very comfortable indeed. On my list to return again. Gaslamp Districts best!!
Great bar. I have only visited in the evening, well after the restaurant closed. The bar is a very nice place for a drink and some really good, late night food. The bartenders are masterful some Hi Colin the wait staff is pleasant. The chef even came out of the kitchen to see how we were enjoying our food. Highly recommend this place.

The turn down service was unexpected, and a great touch with the candy on the pillow and soft music after a long day of conference meetings. The food and beverage selection was very good during meetings.
The US Grant is a very luxurious historical hotel. It has been around for over a 100 years and has been renovated not long ago. The hotel has a gorgeous lobby and spacious rooms. I only spent a short amount of time here but the staff were extremely helpful and efficient. The interior has a very modern look to it. The room I visited was fairly spacious. The only negative comment I have is that finding parking at this location was a tad difficult. It may be easier if you are actually staying at this hotel but as I was visiting a friend, it was difficult to find on street parking
This hotel is amazing! The room was great, the service was excellent, and the location was prime for pretty much anything you could want to do. I absolutely loved my time in San Diego and can't wait to come back:)
The experience was quite good. Room was clean. Check-in and Check-out were painless. Decent bar, reception area. We did get a bit mixed-up between this hotel and another Westin 3 blocks down the same main street. That one is a little closer to the Gaslamp, if that's in your plans.
This review is for coffee/cafe area only. Stopped by to have coffee with some colleagues while in town. Grabbed coffee and banana bread. Both were good and fairly priced - about what you would pay at Starbucks or Peet's. Seating was plentiful and the space was pretty quiet even with other tables occupied. The Westin is attached to an office building so I assume it caters mainly to business crowd.

The room was a good size. Two Queen beds. When I emailed the hotel to mention our other son was joining us for two nights. The hotel moved our booking to a larger room to enable us to have a roll bed for our son. The room overlooked the Baseball stadium. The location is great for visiting the stadium, and the rest of the city. Valet parking was superb.
Location is ok but for the price a small fridge and pool would be have been nice for a 5 day stay at this price point. The carpet is sticky and has many stains so keep your shoes on. A strong positive is that they allowed for an early check- in (flight arrived at 10am) with no additional charge.

An excellent breakfast is served; they made me special vegetarian dishes. I have just returned, and am already planning my next...
Beautiful inn right next to the beach. Free snacks and drinks in your room. Free breakfast in the morning with great food. What's not to love about this island themed inn.

The location was perfect to the event I attended. Unfortunately I could not stay the entire stay due to the hurricane that was predicted to come that did on Sunday am . The concierge was very understanding in allowing me to check out a day earlier after contacting Booking.com and being instructed that this would be handle by the front rest manager at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. Everyone was very understanding...
I was here recently for the IVAT conference. Though I wasn't able to secure a room in this hotel, all the other facilities that I used during the week were superb. There was a fly issue early in the week but by the end of the week I think most of the flies had been contained. My only complaint if I had one was the lunch that we were offered. It was $20 for each day and I have to admit, what they were...
We stayed here for just one night at one of the suites. The room was nice and had a nice view over the city on the 12th floor. They have a nice pool and cafe area with some entertainment activities like ping pong table. I didn't like the grilled chicken sandwich by the pool. Chicken was very dry and the bread didn't taste good either. The restaurant opens at 4pm. I went for the breakfast downstairs...
Overall it is great, we had breakfast included in our booking. The room is good, service is good, but they really need to do something about flies in their breakfast buffet room. We saw fruit flies on the bread when we tried to take tongs from the bread plate on day one, on day two, the bread was covered, but there was a big fly on the ham, after that, we don’t want to have any food there.
We stayed 3 nights in a corner room on the 3rd floor on July 20, 2023 overlooking the pool. The property and rooms were very nice, we enjoyed the pool, tennis courts, breakfast, and paid $35 for covered parking. Complimentary water bottles each day of our stay was very nice. Our biggest complaint is the noise level of other guest rooms. Even though we were in a corner room, for 2 nights we heard a...
Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband and 2 kids while we took a trip to the zoo and Legoland. I’ve stayed at several Hyatt’s in my day and we found this one to not disappoint! Our stay was delightful. The pool was excellent and we really enjoyed the space and pool bar. The on-site restaurants served delicious choices and room service was also convenient after a busy day. I am very happy with this...

Would give 5 stars but there was no AC working in my room and had to find out at 2am when I went to turn it on. So I slept with the windows open and listened to the streets all night. However, the front desk staff and Karon “K” working valet were AMAZING and extremely friendly. Very nice hotel and great location. Would stay here again, but would like to know if AC is having issues upon arrival or...
Great staff. Valet gets a bit busy at peak times but they hustle. Rooms are good. Clean. Showers are awesome. Comfortable beds. Kimpton does sometimes but no coffee in the room. Minor issue. Wifi is fast. Pool is nice.. workout /gym is good. Would recommend.
Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a hotel. This site will compare thousands of booking web sites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is the best rated in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you for sure will love it I'm sure! Great room and staff. Housekeeping came and graciously helped clean...
We spent a night here during the holidays and we loved it. Very well decorated and festive, yet in a modern and classy way. The lobby is spacious with plenty of options for seating, and the elevators right next to the check-in desk. The rooms are updated and cozy, with low beds and comfy sheets. Our bathroom was renovated and very nice too. I liked having a balcony with a view of the pool and downtown...
Had a blast celebrating my Birthday and the 4th of July, the staff went out of their way to make our stay incredible! The room was gorgeous, and the bed very comfy, can’t say enough about the showers also! We were close to everything. Thank you again for an amazing memorable stay!
This was the view from our room! The staff was great! The rooms were clean and smelled fresh when we walked in. This is near the airport but we really couldn’t hear the noise! I enjoyed watching the planes! Also, they are pet friendly, I think, they are near a nice dog park! I wish I had known because I left my puppy with family when I could have brought her with me!
