The Westin Bayview Hotel

This is not a 4 star hotel! It’s a hotel that is struggling to keep up with quality and service.
Despite saying rooms have been refurbished, they still need work! Carpets are frayed, comforter had make up on from previous occupant, bathroom door has dirty brown marks on it, shower door did not work, the faucets drain water all over sink area. A tired hotel that is in need of love!
The air conditioning works but it need to be cranked up, as the comforter is so hot, you can’t get a break from the heat overnight! We asked for a lighter comforter or two singles to allow our limbs to be out of the bed to be able to cool, to which two extra large comforters were placed on the bed instead! Insane!
As for the bar area, wine poured to the rim into small glasses and no larger wine glasses were in stock! Bar snacks were obviously from the freezer and heated up. The flat bread dough was still uncooked. Yet for a couple of drinks and two appetizers, we were charged $92.
The hotel is a poor representation of Westins, and we are members of Marriott BonVoy and this has completely let the group down.
If you are here for one night as a flight crew stopover or attending a conference (of which there are many such people seen), maybe it’s not a problem but we are here to celebrate a special occasion and this was a total let down! We shouldn’t have to ask for repairs/clean water glasses etc. The US usually has high standards for hotels, not at this one. Sorry!

Not sure where to start. I thought we were staying at a Westin. This hotel is so dated. Upon check in, I asked for a quiet room away from the elevator. Got upstairs- room was across from the elevators. Ummm, I just requested NOT to be by the elevator. Went back downstairs and switched rooms. Rooms are not very clean. There was dust all inside the lights by the beds. The shower tiles had mold all over them. The fan in the bathroom didn't work, so we propped the door open (and yes, we did tell the front desk when we found all this out...and I got a text after I got back home asking how they could help...?). The tub had a slow leak (took a bath) and the shower has a small drip. The room doors SLAM shut. I mean SLAM...not sure what the purpose of that is. The person working the coffee bar didn't understand a word I said. I asked if he had muffins/croissants and he said no. There was a case next to the register with all those items. I ordered two coffees and he poured one. The bartender in the late afternoon ignored us for a solid 5 minutes. Not even a "hello, be right with you." People just standing around talking, ignoring the patrons. Housekeeping skipped our room, but were very quick to bring fresh towels when we requested them. The best part of the stay was chatting with the shuttle drivers. They were great! To stay I was disappointed in this property, is putting it mildly. It really needs some TLC and the staff need some training on customer service. Location is decent. You don't really have a full bay view...it's blocked by other tall buildings, but you can get a glimpse of the water. Easy to walk down to the bay from the hotel.
