The US Grant, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Diego, San Diego1 / 50

The US Grant Hotel was perfect. The valet was super fast, the car was always waiting for us at the door. The staff and service was impeccable in every way. Every staff member we delt with was amazing. It was like we were the only people there. The food was very good. The location is in a great area with plenty of things to do for nightlife with in walking distance. 20 min to Sea World, 15 minutes to...
The main entrance to the hotel is actually at the back of the property. At the front of the hotel, you have to use your room card to enter. There’s no one standing at the front doors to greet you, open the door, or otherwise welcome you to property. The reception team was friendly and efficient. I recommend the complimentary tour to learn more about the history of the property. I stayed on a high...
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel, which is in a great location. We could do without some of the homelessness around the downtown area, but the hotel maintains its elegance in its close surroundings. The room and bathroom were both spacious. I would like to give a huge shout out to Robert (head of valet) and Jerry (head of security) for their utmost professionlism and courtesy during...
I would give 3.5 stars. As the general hotel star rating goes, this is more 4 than 5 stars. Staff was very helpful and kind. The room was fine, but pillows were not great, and there were some holes in both bottom and top sheets. The toilet was loose and moved when sitting on it. We figured that the location of the hotel would be great for exploring the city a bit, but the direct vicinity of the hotel...
The customer service at the Grant was impeccable, more than one can ask for at what I consider to be an affordable price. I stayed in room 604 which is located right beside the elevator. 24 hours a day you hear the elevator going up & down. I would recommend avoiding room 604 for this reason. It's only a guess as to why I got this room, but I was there very early before their usual check-in time...
Beautifully maintained and staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Very loud , the walls are very thin and you can hear anything from other rooms
The room service is not a good option , they delay a lot and the food is not so good !
A variety of great restaurants to pick. A historic area with charming buildings and a great atmosphere.
Its exactly what you pay for. A hotel room right smack dab in the middle of the Gaslamp District. It's not too fancy but it's not run down either. The bathrooms and showers are shared, by that I mean there's a bathroom/shower on the floor but it's not actually connected to your room. All in all I would stay here again. It's a great place if you're in town for the weekend to party. Because let's be...
I stayed here for a week during my conference. It was an amazing experience. Affordable, historic, and walking distance from anywhere you may need to go. The host, Katherine, was so hospitable and helpful. Its very quiet for the area it is in, and rooms, showers, and restrooms are clean. I would absolutely stay again if i went back. I miss the beautiful patio overlooking the street already!!
Somewhere between hostel and hotel you have to love this place for what it is. Yes, you can hear the street easily and the shower / bathroom facilities are shared, but everything is clean and the individual running the front desk is personable and available. Affordable, great location

Had a wonderful three-day stay at the Gaslamp Marriott in San Diego! The location is perfect—just steps away from Petco Park and surrounded by downtown attractions. The hospitality was excellent, and it was a great escape from the heat of Arizona. Highly recommend this hotel for your next getaway!
Rooms are pretty clean but dated and have carpeting, just not my preference. Needs a renovation. Location is great. 2 of the 4 elevators were out for servicing.
It's a good hotel. We stayed only one night but we didn't really get that experience of a 4-star hotel. Price was reasonable, we booked it last minute. Reception staff was not very friendly. I guess they had a sold-out weekend and were a bit overwhelmed. The room is nice, nothing fancy but well appointed. We got a king-size bedroom and the bed was comfortable as you would expect in most Marriot hotels...
To be clear: the staff at this place is incredibly kind and amazing. However, this is by far the oldest and most outdated Marriott I've stayed in. During my time here, my sink clogged, was cleared, but then filled back up without me even using it because the sink is connected to the next door room (gross!). They did move me to a different room immediately and gave me some Marriott points, but for...
The room was a good size. Two Queen beds. When I emailed the hotel to mention our other son was joining us for two nights. The hotel moved our booking to a larger room to enable us to have a roll bed for our son. The room overlooked the Baseball stadium. The location is great for visiting the stadium, and the rest of the city. Valet parking was superb.
Location is ok but for the price a small fridge and pool would be have been nice for a 5 day stay at this price point. The carpet is sticky and has many stains so keep your shoes on. A strong positive is that they allowed for an early check- in (flight arrived at 10am) with no additional charge.

The hotel was beautiful and cozy. The views are amazing during sunset. Close to everything, bars, restaurants, beach. The breakfast is great, so much to choose from👍and the staff was very nice. If I ever come back this is where I will book agian. 💜
The view was amazing and I enjoyed my stay here. The complimentary water and soda was a good treat. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet style which was very good. The room could of been cleaned up better (floors) and the front door was very hard to open. I would definitely return to this location because of the view.
Overall this was a beautiful and peaceful stay. The ocean view was perfect, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The TVs were huge, and we were able to watch Netflix which was great. We had a perfect sunset view, and we could walk to all the restaurants and shops and beach easily. The breakfast was really good as well. We will most likely stay here...
This has been the best vacation spot I've ever experienced. The room was absolutely spotless when we arrived. This has got to be the best crew in Southern California in terms of cleanliness and hospitality. Absolutely unmatched. Incredibly classy decorations without going overboard. Very stylish. It's right by the water and the view can't be beat, especially if you book a waterfront room with a balcony...
This place is so beautiful I can't believe. I had only spent time on east coast beaches as a child and this is totally different! The almostphere is so relaxed and the people are so nice! I love it here!
Great location and beautiful grounds. Staff super friendly. Rooms are modest but nice enough.

The location was perfect to the event I attended. Unfortunately I could not stay the entire stay due to the hurricane that was predicted to come that did on Sunday am . The concierge was very understanding in allowing me to check out a day earlier after contacting Booking.com and being instructed that this would be handle by the front rest manager at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla. Everyone was very understanding...
I was here recently for the IVAT conference. Though I wasn't able to secure a room in this hotel, all the other facilities that I used during the week were superb. There was a fly issue early in the week but by the end of the week I think most of the flies had been contained. My only complaint if I had one was the lunch that we were offered. It was $20 for each day and I have to admit, what they were...
We stayed here for just one night at one of the suites. The room was nice and had a nice view over the city on the 12th floor. They have a nice pool and cafe area with some entertainment activities like ping pong table. I didn't like the grilled chicken sandwich by the pool. Chicken was very dry and the bread didn't taste good either. The restaurant opens at 4pm. I went for the breakfast downstairs...
Overall it is great, we had breakfast included in our booking. The room is good, service is good, but they really need to do something about flies in their breakfast buffet room. We saw fruit flies on the bread when we tried to take tongs from the bread plate on day one, on day two, the bread was covered, but there was a big fly on the ham, after that, we don’t want to have any food there.
We stayed 3 nights in a corner room on the 3rd floor on July 20, 2023 overlooking the pool. The property and rooms were very nice, we enjoyed the pool, tennis courts, breakfast, and paid $35 for covered parking. Complimentary water bottles each day of our stay was very nice. Our biggest complaint is the noise level of other guest rooms. Even though we were in a corner room, for 2 nights we heard a...
Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband and 2 kids while we took a trip to the zoo and Legoland. I’ve stayed at several Hyatt’s in my day and we found this one to not disappoint! Beautiful location and clean rooms. Dog Friendly! Staff of very polite. Food is delicious (the Avocado Toast is to die for!). Family friendly. Pool is open late and overlooks the San Diego Bay with a view of Padres Stadium. We will definitely be back!!!
This resort was excellent. I did not need much from the staff but everyone was kind and helpful. The food was delicious! I was here for a business meeting and the conference room and staff support were on point. The pool was great and while it felt a bit warm initially, it became the perfect temperature once the breeze kicked in! We did have to run to get towels though. They go quick- but are replaced...
Best part of San Diego!!!! This hotel is located on Coronado Island and is close enough to the beach , restaurants, and shopping. The location and amenities are amazing. It’s along the waterfront so you get access to it right out of your room. The Coronado Ferry is a 15 min walk away and drops you right at convention center. Beach Village at “the Del” is among my top three favorite hotels in the world (along with the Ritz Paris and Ojai Valley Inn and Spa.) I was here for a business conference. Rooms are quiet and the windows open which is nice to let fresh air in. I had the chance to spend four days at this hotel for a conference in September 2023, marking my first visit to San Diego, CA. Prior to my arrival, I had already booked two cruise voyages. The view was spectacular. I could sit and look out these windows over the harbor all day long! I love the fact that the scenery changes with every boat/ship that goes by. City lights at night were equally spectacular. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub while attending a conference here. Lots of restaurants, walking distance. Fantastic experience!
I stayed here for an Insurance Convention. When I arrived my room was ready and was upgraded to a higher floor with a great view. I ate the first night at the Landing which I had a grilled chicken Cesar Salad. It was pretty good with plenty of chicken. The only thing I would suggest is having the Cesar dressing already mixed in, I really don’t like mixing it myself as the bowl was filled high with...
Really enjoyed our stay! Really friendly staff. Zach gave us great suggestions and Nick was a great help as well. Great view, best location to the seaport and gas lamp, and walking distance to restaurants and entertainment. The beds are very comfortable and the hotel is very clean. Just an amazing place. The salt water pool is a perfect 84 degrees (F). Nice venue.
Beautiful property right on the ocean - hotel staff is friendly and efficient. Breakfast buffet has something for everyone - eggs, fruit, oatmeal, interesting frittatas, etc. Wines are spectacular. Love the atmosphere of Mustangs and Burros for casual dining. Outside area is comfortable. Heaters made it easy to sit around enjoying a glass of wine and chatting with friends.
My husband surprised me with a staycation here over valentines weekend. It was quite beautiful! The spa was amazing and highly recommended. We also went for brunch and the buffet had a little bit of everything for everyone. They also had a Bloody Mary bar.
Very nice hotel. Great restaurants. Guests during the week tend to be rowdy sales folks so bar gets super loud at night. Otherwise, wonderful hotel and spa.
The food was good. Few heaters on the patio were broken or at least we were told that when we asked to be seated by the heater. The desert was slightly dry, but it might be us expecting mind blowing desert after the great 3 course meal.

Guest service was excellent, from the valet to the front desk to the restaurant servers and more. The hotel and room (which had an amazing view by the way) were very clean. Our family visited the HOTEL FROM HELL on our last trip to San Diego. Before leaving, we decided to find another hotel where everyone could enjoy good taste. THANK YOU, we found this gem. Nice space/room. Nice views. Conveniently located. Decent parking options (for a downtown hotel). Decent outside pool area. Overpriced would be an understatement, however... Only so-so food choices at the hotel itself - and again, overpriced. But the local area has so much to offer food-wise, you can just about overlook that...
Absolutely beautiful hotel inside and out.. the lounge areas, pool areas and surrounding ocean views are stunning..the rooms are very nice and very clean..the only downside is that there is no mini fridge to keep drinks cool. This is my go to place when I travel to San Diego. The hotel is incredible. The staff is really friendly and helpful. There place is always clean and the views of Coronado and the bay are incredible. If you ever have a chance, you must attend the New Years Eve party here. There is nothing like it!
Should be 5 stars but there were a few things off when we went. The room I wasn't THAT impressed with out of such a high spending place like the Hilton. The views were absolutely breathtaking. We had dinner at the Vessel and it was great. The variety of food was good and the drinks were very unique. They even had a live band playing and there was no fee to listen. The service was outstanding. We really enjoyed the restaurant.
Beautiful area with awesome firepits overlooking the boat arena. A great place to stay if you want to disconnect from things, but still be close enough to drive to activities. However it is pretty far from anything if you like to go out walking to explore the area.
Great location right off Shelter Island and I had a very pleasant stay, but it definitely shows signs of it's age. The phone in my room looked and worked as if it was from the 90s. Although it has a great view off the peninsula it feels pretty isolated, you need a car to get anywhere.

I did not stay here but I did walk the hotel outside and beach. It is stunning!! The property is amazing. I understand that their is a haunted room but I have not confirmed this to be true. Great service and nice rooms. Would 100% stay here again. For a new hotel, they are off to a great start and can't wait to see more of what's to come. I only wish that there was a way for the hotel guests use the sauna and steam room without booking a treatment. All in all, it's a great place to stay. I also like there are so many restaurants and bars all on site with good food and drinks.

I only spent a short amount of time here but the staff were extremely helpful and efficient. The interior has a very modern look to it. The room I visited was fairly spacious. The only negative comment I have is that finding parking at this location was a tad difficult. It may be easier if you are actually staying at this hotel but as I was visiting a friend, it was difficult to find on street parking
This hotel is amazing! The room was great, the service was excellent, and the location was prime for pretty much anything you could want to do. I absolutely loved my time in San Diego and can't wait to come back:)
The experience was quite good. Room was clean. Check-in and Check-out were painless. Decent bar, reception area. We did get a bit mixed-up between this hotel and another Westin 3 blocks down the same main street. That one is a little closer to the Gaslamp, if that's in your plans.
This review is for coffee/cafe area only. Stopped by to have coffee with some colleagues while in town. Grabbed coffee and banana bread. Both were good and fairly priced - about what you would pay at Starbucks or Peet's. Seating was plentiful and the space was pretty quiet even with other tables occupied. The Westin is attached to an office building so I assume it caters mainly to business crowd.

Be warned: be sure to consider the resort and parking fees in addition to the advertised nightly charge... And with parking at $38/day, it's a substantial difference. We had to change from the original room due to sewage gas backing up from the toilet. They switched the room upon request, but some...
Room in the main building is poor. I'm a Marriott girl.. reminds me why I avoid the Hyatt. Lovely noisey elevator forecasts a terrible night sleep. Property is pretty.. but who cares if sleep is bad.
I stayed Sunday night 10/22 with an ocean view king bed. Hotel is great, view is fantastic, swimming area well maintained. However, customer service is lacking. The bar/restauant in the pool area, you have to get the waiter/bartenders attention if you want something. No complimentary breakfast. I enjoyed the room, but overall experience was lacking. It seemed like every employee was just there to collect...
In my teens, my family took us here for a 2 night stay and it's one of my better hotel memories growing up. Walking distance to Sea World, and of course the San Diego sandy beach. The active pier is a plus. There is an elite club on the top floor with complementary treats, as well as a restaurant on the first floor. Pool and gym are outstanding, especially gym which is on the water of the bay. ...
Nothing. Overpriced and bait and switched at the hotel, even though id called 6 hours prior. Would not stay at hyatt again and might just use airbnb from now on.

The employee who helped me get my bearings was a guy from New York! Small world. I'm a frequent traveler and this is one of the few hotels that literally took my breath away at first sight. I went on a solo trip and was completely content just walking around the property and thinking all weekend. The 1st floor has an open balcony from the first floor which offers the best view!
My mom wanted to take a vacation here to see the beach after a hard year. Unfortunately there were some issues, but I'm impressed with how professional this front desk staff is and Tim, the GM, is also amazing. Thank you for taking care of my mom during her stay. I really appreciate it.
We had a mini girls weekend at this Hilton and had a great time. The grounds are simply beautiful, as is the pool. The people who work there are nice and helpful. We especially appreciated Rich who greeted us as soon as we arrived. He was funny, personable and very helpful. We hope to return soon!
Beautiful location right on the golf course and the ocean beyond! Staff is always great when I stay and very helpful. Rooms are nice considering the age of this property. I docked one star for having to pay for parking and the lack of food options...being a vegan, choices are very limited. Another plus for this Hilton is the little coffee bar which serves Starbucks and sells a few pastries. Pool is...
Beautiful Hotel. Wonderful Staff. Very clean, well run and all things are thought of. We were given a wonderful room, with an amazing view, and they were very accommodating to us bringing out bikes into the hotel. We will return!
Cool hotel both for business and pleasure. Great breakfasts lots of healthy options (by the way I was impressed with great master chef who agreed to cook an omelet for me using just egg whites: that’s what I can five star service!). Reception super nice and very helpful, always ready to advise on anything, very responsive. Area very beautiful, great tracks for trekking or run, especially on the beach...

Great room top restaurant and bar with excellent food. Lovely lobby area with bar and restaurant and modern facilities with pool and gyms.
Nice hotel good location for access to food. A short walk to little Italy. Easy to get to the airport. The biggest issue I had was there isn't a protected area to pull in to valet your car. They really didn't design the entry well. Also valet parking is $50/ day so be forewarned. Room was small but fine. Very clean and modern. The rooftop bar is cool and has a nice ambiance.
Everything about this hotel was amazing. Stayed for 1 night and had one of the best experiences I've ever had. The room was modern, clean and the bathroom was phenomenal. Very fancy. We had a view of the bay and it was breath taking. The duvets on the bed were so comfortable. We went up to the restaurant for some drinks and they offered us free shots! The atmosphere was so tranquil. The jacuzzi was...
Wife and I had a great experience at this location. There was many places in walking distance which made things easier and the area felt safe for us. Staff were fantastic, they assisted with everything. From opening our doors if we took a ride or explaining anything we had questions for. The hotel room felt great, it was very clean and taken care of as well felt very modern. We had a view to the...
Beautiful hotel with a beautiful room. Room was tiny however and the view wasn't too great due to the construction next door. The rooftop had a great view. Valet parking was pricey at $56. Got a $60 food/beverage credit as a Diamond member. Didn't get an upgrade but that's fine. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Located next to Little Italy and close by to everything in San Diego.
I can't recommend this hotel and its staff enough. From the moment we checked in they made sure to make our stay special. The hotel itself is in a great location just a short walk from the harbor and Little Italy. The rooftop bar is so fun and has an awesome view. The manager Jordan, the concierge and Above Ash staff are all the best around. Thank you. We will be back.

People usually take the time to write when they are unhappy. I take the time to acknowledge a few who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Please let them know that we sincerely appreciate going the extra mile to make us comfortable and welcome. I know staffing and return protocols can be an issue. Despite this, the service is top notch. Thank you, Paola, front desk and restaurant staff...
But
The experience was quite good. Room was clean. Check-in and Check-out were painless. Decent bar, reception area. We did get a bit mixed-up between this hotel and another Westin 3 blocks down the same main street. That one is a little closer to the Gaslamp, if that's in your plans.
This hotel is located in a fantastic spot. Just a couple of issues we had: 1- bathtub had some hair in it and 2 - booking was a pain...I had originally booked to stay 3 nights and had to cut it down to 2 nights, but the manager said we had to book for a 2 night minimum stay at a higher rate. I booked it, but called a couple days later to cancel the room altogether, the nice guy at the front desk said...
Great location in the gas lamp district and excellent staff that will go above and beyond. Rooms are well appointed, bar and restaurant available in the lobby. There's also a business center for web searches and printing when needed. No free parking but valet is available for $50/night. There's a 24 hour convenience store across the street for everything from a six pack to a sandwich if you're not...
Nostalgic. Beautiful. Walking distance. Hotels can be pricey, but worth it! And here's why; Gas lamp has everything! Baseball stadium, bars, restaurant's, sights, rickshaws! All within walking distance for the most part. There is even water taxi's, and close to Coronado! There is an old battleship museum, and of course SeaWorld is around the corner! Parking however, sucks! Expensive, even at the hotel...
