Best Western Plus Bayside Inn

Good location, wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed my time at the best western, and the pool and hot tub was well maintained! Unfortunately the rooms are thin, so you can hear your neighbors and any noise in the hallway very clearly, along with whatever is happening outside. There is also no fan in the bathroom, and no circulation, which leaves towels wet for days.

Clean, comfortable bed, nice clean shower and toilet. Plenty of towels, very nice coffee machine.
Two blocks from the trolley station.
Reasonable prices per night.
Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in San Diego and visit the attractions close to gas lamp district or convention center!

I’ve stayed in San Diego a few times now and although I’ve stayed at a few hotels, Best Western is now my go to every time.
The first time I had ever visited San Diego I was with my daughter and I’d arrived around 3am. I hadn’t booked a room at any place yet and calling around, everyone was booked except for Carte and Best western. Arriving to Carte I was treated quite rudely by whoever was front desk at the time because my ID didn’t match my card (it was my husbands I had forgotten mine). And that’s fine I totally understand but what I refuse to understand was the rudeness and bitterness of the lady, especially with the kindness I was giving despite this.
Anyways, I walked into Best Western and immediately I was greeted by the sweetest smile from a lady (I forget her name) that was manager at the time. She was able to help me and made me feel so comfortable. Couple days in I’d spilled red wine on my beach top and she even cleaned it for me!!! Super sweet lady 🩷
Again, I’ve been to different hotels and expensive ones that are supposed to be high end and the cleanliness, staff and room didn’t match the vibe at all; Best western not only has kind staff, especially the managers and security, but the rooms are clean, the views are beautiful and the windows are so clean as well! And their all around coffee/hot chocolate machine downstairs is just a cherry on top haha I really recommend this hotel. It’s also not too expensive! Just an fyi

Building doesnt look that well, but rooms were nice. Breakfast package was nice surprise we didnt expect. Parking onsite for 30 usd could be cheaper.

Amazing stay overall! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They had free bagged breakfast while their restaurant was under construction, so that was a wonderful surprise. The room had the most beautiful view of the city off the balcony!! Amazing. Only issue I had was cold water in the shower most nights & the filtered water dispenser being broken, but minor over all. Thanks Best Western (:
