Hotel Indigo San Diego Del Mar, an IHG Hotel

This place is situated right by Del Mar cliffs and you can see the ocean out of most rooms. It’s clean and modern and a very nice hotel. If you get room 107, politely decline, unless you’re a heavy sleeper and can sleep through anything. That was the room we got. The ocean view observation patio is directly above this room and you can hear every single persons steps and conversations, and the housekeeping carts when they roll past as if they are all in the same room as you. I think the walls are thin in general, which is a big downside if you’re looking into having a relaxing vacation. Overall, we aren’t huge on sleeping in, so this wasn’t the worst thing for us. But something I think people should be aware of when booking.

Worth the stay just for the breakfast!! Great location and the rooms were spacious. Needs a few upgrades or would give it 5 stars. The service was amazing and everything is clean. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Hotel Indigo recently hosted about 45 of us for a college reunion. What an amazing 3-days we had. Incredible experience.

During the planning phase, we had looked at several 3- and 4- star hotels in the Del Mar Carmel Valley area and came across Hotel Indigo in Del Mar by the water. Location wise it was a clear winner but what really tipped the balance in its favor was the willingness of the sales staff, in particular Kathryn Houston, to work with us on a number of our needs. Price, flexibility in booking, block reservations, parking, extras that made the stay even better. As locals, my wife and I visited the place and the front desk staff, in particular Barbara, welcomed us and shared a lot of history (and geography) of the place.

When the crowd started arriving, the staff was super friendly- accommodated all our needs.

The rooms were also very well organized- fairly big for a beach front place, all amenities one would expect were there and the bed was very comfy. The views from the patio were also amazing. It is a short distance to powerhouse park and other beach front locations, plus downtown Del Mar beach!

I knew the service here would be great before I arrived. Because the staff was super helpful on the phone to help me make a booking adjustment (from using a IHG certificate to cash payment) that is past change due date. He didn't have to but he went above and beyond to help me. I forgot his name, he was on a night shift around 8-9pm. Thank you!
When I arrived, all the staff were nice too and smooth check-in. The only small issue was it wasn't clear that the room card did not work on the other side of the room's door facing the pool.
The room we got was spacious with high ceiling. The breakfast burrito was good, even better when it's included for Diamond member.

This hotel was absolutely stunning! The pool and Jacuzzi are beautiful overlooking the water. The Architecture is fascinating and you can almost get lost in the maze of buildings. The landscaping is absolutely beautiful and I could not stop taking pictures.

Really cool little hidden gem! I just arrived here for a week long stay and very happy with the room! It feels more like some villa room in Hawaii than the usual meh hotel room! You can see the ocean from the property but not oceanfront

We stayed in room 331 which was a king suite room in the back corner of the hotel lot and our patio was right next to the pool which was perfect for a family with kids. There was nobody below us, we were away from the main part of the hotel, the patio space was awesome and essentially had a private pool and hot tub steps away from our room. The hip vibe and cleanliness were big for us in looking through photos and it didn't disappoint in person. The hotel staff were amazing, accommodating and very helpful in everything and anything we asked for. Huge shout outs in particular to Joshua at the bar, Barbara at the front desk and Jaime in maintenence/ grounds keeper all 3 went the extra mile in making us feel welcomed and at home.
