Astor Garden Hotel

Not sure how this is rated 5* it’s more like a 2 star hotel. The service was absolutely terrible..

Firstly, upon arrival, the receptionist repeatedly interrupted the check-in process to take phone calls and was rude. This was unprofessional . Additionally, they did not provide any information regarding breakfast, the location of the room, the lifts, or other essential details that are typically communicated to guests.

Upon entering my room, I found a dirty spoon, which raises serious concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the hotel. Moreover, the soap/ lotion in the bathroom had not been topped up and was completely empty, indicating a lack of attention to detail in maintaining the room amenities.

Throughout my stay, I encountered difficulties reaching the reception or concierge service as no one picked up the phone, even when calling from the bedroom phone. This lack of responsiveness is unacceptable and added to the overall frustration.

The pool doesn’t appear to be cleaned as you could feel sand at the bottom of the pool.

Breakfast is buffet style with no one serving this is not 5* at all - not even a welcome into the breakfast it was a free for all

Cleaning staff didn’t even say hello in the corridors to guests

Additionally, it took me 20 minutes to get out of the car park as the barrier was not lifting. The telephone number provided for assistance went unanswered, and I had to go to reception twice to sort the issue. This was extremely inconvenient and further contributed to my dissatisfaction.

I did speak to the hotel front of house manager on the day of check-in at 5 pm, who explained that he would pass this information on to the site manager. However, I have not received any follow-up or resolution regarding these issues.

This is not a 5* hotel more like a 2 star avoid if you can. I’m also concerned that some of these reviews seem to be fake … as the time and date of some posts are within the same hour.

I recently stayed at this "luxury" spa hotel, and it was anything but. The spa itself was disgusting – the water in the pool was filled with hair, mold, and rust. It's shocking that a place promoting relaxation and cleanliness would allow its facilities to be in such a revolting state. I honestly couldn't even relax in the spa area without feeling grossed out.
To make matters worse, the reception service was absolutely unacceptable. I had to wait nearly half an hour to check out while the elderly lady at the front desk casually chatted with some Russian customers, completely ignoring my presence. To top it off, two other staff members came to the reception area, grabbed some documents, and didn't even bother to help or acknowledge the growing queue. This lack of professionalism and basic customer service is truly baffling.
For a place that markets itself as a luxury hotel, it felt more like a poorly managed establishment. If this is what "luxury" looks like, then it's a very poor representation of it – more like Balkan-style service. Save your money and go somewhere that actually knows how to treat its guests. Would not recommend at all.
