I was not left with a good opinion of this place.
I checked into a "hotel" (I put quotation marks because if this guy calls himself a hotel, tourism in Bulgaria is doomed) around 11.30. I was greeted by a very nice but extremely out of place woman. He had written on a piece of paper my first name and the amount he should take from me. I paid and went upstairs. I had previously asked her how much the surcharge was for one more person, she said she had no idea. The room is small, with a bedroom, 2 glasses, 1 shower gel and 2 soaps. No hair dryer, no shampoo, no conditioner, no face or hand towel, no coffee cup, no foot and it was damn cold, but I figured they'd turn on the heat in the evening because some guesthouses do that to save money. I went out around 12.20 as I had a few painful manipulations during the day, hoping that when I got back to my room it would be warm, I would shower and go to sleep. I was in for a nasty surprise - the heater hadn't worked at all all day, and I'm convinced of that because I had put my wet towel on one of the radiators before I went out and when I got home it was just as wet. Because, among other things, the telephone was missing from the rooms, I had to go down 2 floors with wet hair, exhausted from painful injections and manipulations, to ask what the problem was with the heating and whether it would be resolved. A rather elderly lady pointed to a room thermometer and said that 21 degrees was a perfectly normal temperature. I also explained that for me, this is not normal and asked her to do something about it, and she replied that there was a second blanket in the closet...I went upstairs extremely disappointed. A friend of mine texted me a little later that he was going to drop by after work to see me because he was worried about my health. The same old lady stopped him at the entrance and explained that he had paid for a single room. I tried to explain to her that the man was not staying overnight and was only coming to see me, at which she made a mad fuss. I told her that no one had told me that I was staying in a girls' boarding house and it didn't say anywhere that outside guests were not allowed. I asked to speak to the owner. My acquaintance called me after a while asking me to come down to the "reception". I got off and the woman handed me a telephone receiver. Later I realized I was talking to the owner. I tried to explain the situation to him, but all I heard on the other side was threats that he was coming to take me out with the police...he told me to leave the hotel immediately. I have never experienced such humiliation in my life. Going upstairs to collect my luggage at 9pm, the elderly woman kept shouting at me and I told her not to insult me. In response, I heard "you'll see who you're calling duck". After less than 10 minutes I was ready with my luggage when there was a knock on the door of the room. A young woman asked me if I was ready. I replied that no one had given me time. She said "well then you have 5 minutes". I replied that I would be ready after 15 then and closed the door. At which SHE WALKED DIRECTLY INTO THE ROOM AND TOLD ME TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. I have been working with Booking for over 6 years as a hotel manager and have been a Genius customer for maybe 3 years. Such an attitude is a shame for anyone who calls himself a "hotelier". I'm sorry there is no 0 star option for the review as I would be happy to use it. Never again!!

Extremely unpleasant place, rude, aggressive and vulgar attitude from the receptionist. It is very far from the "hotel" claimants, it doesn't even work as a guest house, because it lacks basic hospitality. The rooms are small and cheaply-spartanly furnished, the stairs are steep, there are no working conditions either in the rooms or in the small room, which simultaneously serves as a reception and breakfast area. As far as I can see from other comments, problems are mainly reported by women, which is a worrying signal and should be investigated, I will also report to Booking as well as the police. In the event of a negative comment, the receptionist in question does not hesitate to add insult to injury in free-form, apparently hoping that this way the disgruntled person will remove the comment. He also complains to Google about the comments he doesn't like, which explains the seemingly high rating. Instead of trying to have satisfied customers, he spends his efforts nagging them and extinguishing the consequences of his own inappropriate and rude behavior. Absolutely psychotic and inadequate attitude and the worst thing is that in order to have no control over this insanity until now, most likely the receptionist is also the owner. There are many small hotels in the area with smiling hosts, better spend your money elsewhere.

Extremely nasty a-hole, rude, simple, obnoxious receptionist.

Stayed for four nights and it was really nice for the price. Spotlessly clean, easy going owner / manager. Walking distance to the mountains but convenient for the city. All good.

Outstanding!
As a X employee of the best business hotel in Bulgaria - Modus hotel Varna I have very high standards for hotels. I would like to say that hotel Classic deserves 5 stars in each category. I traveled for business to Sofia and am spending my first night in this place.
It is: Super Clean and neat. Looks new and seems that the owners are taking great attention in all details. It is super clean - both the room and bathroom and bed sheets. Although it is still October and the night temperatures are about 15 S, the room heating system is switched on! The view from my room is gorgeous. The host is nice to the people and the price is just fine. I tried to find cons but was only able to locate one- the hotel is away from the crowded Sofia center and you may need your own car to get here, but this is actually another pro - super quiet and gives you the great view on top of Sofia.
Well done hotel Classic!
Will come back and will be glad to recommend this place to my friends!
