Room was barebones and dirty in places, tired carpet and stains etc. Bathroom okay, dated toilet and broken shower head & holder. Check in desk were helpful, but most other staff I encountered were either dismissive or unfriendly.

The money I spent is definitely wasted, they gave me a hard time & they let me wait for more than 6 hours to be checked in, even though I already informed them that I’ll pay early check in. The facility got more than 600 rooms and themsnsher in the reception area, whose name is Kristiyana, lied on me! She said that there’s no room available to think that there were no more than 600 guests on the said...

Although advertised as four star hotel it's nowhere near. The rooms are average, cleaning service don't come every day and the bins near entrance are usually full of garbage. The staff at the reception could be more polite, and in general every evening there are a lot of murky guys and obscure dressed ladies coming into hotel. Probably will not take this hotel next time I'm in Sofia.

In general hotel was nice but my experience from the breakfast was very poor. To be honest the service did not clean the tables, it was very difficult to find the rable without leftovers from the food of predecessors. Additionally satin stairs were full of stains. It was visible that somebody spoilt something on the seat or grabbed the back of the chair with his dirty hand. Awful.

Astoria Grand Hotel is definitely not a 4-star hotel. The breakfast is very modest, both in terms of variety and quality. A bit below 4*. Like any 4*hotel in Sophia, the breakfast is poor and the coffee is hardly drinkable. The casino downstairs is a bit out of my taste. Half of the people are nice, half of them are a bit cold, none of them exagerates. Some stuff in the bathroom is occasionally broken or malfunctioning. The nice restaurants are within a 30+ minute walk.

Great for the price they offer, especially with the breakfast they offer. The reception area has a lot of seating area so you don't have to sit close to strangers and make it awkward for everyone. the hotel was very close to the center, it was clean but the personnel did not speak good english. communication was not that easy. I had requested a parking place for my car in their parking lot and they offered me a parking spot on the street in front of the hotel for 19 euros per day and if I left after 19:30 I would not be able to park again.

I often travel to Sofia for work meetings. And I always choose to stay at Novotel because the team is professional, the quality and fast service are very important to me. On 31 Aug 2024 Milen provided excellent customer service in helping my partner retrieve her phone from a taxi. He went above and beyond in retrieving it. I couldn't rate his customer service higher! The staff is not willing to take responsibility, so we will not recomend this hotel. While cleaning the room the threw away the lids of the contact lenses box. No big deal IF instead of asking "can you prove it was us" they would simply send someone to get a new box. Probably a one dollar expense... Negative attitude is no way to treat customers...

I didn't like the surface very much as it doesn't bounce the ball much. We are not professionals but it was not very good. It is saved through the online system, which is a big plus and most of the times it is calm, but the unpleasant thing is that when the ball comes out, it takes 1, 2 minutes to get it back since there are nets and it enters the other fields easily.

Stayed here for one night due to a late flight arrival before continuing our trip in Bulgaria the next day. Very good choice instead of the hotels that are a bit closer to the airport. Nice, spacious and quiet rooms. Food at the rooftop bar and restaurant was good. We especially liked that they had rooms for three people since we were travelling two adults and one child.

We stayed couple of nights in this hotel. The breakfast included was great, plenty of options for eating. The room is not nor small nor big but has everything needed for a comfortable staying. The ladies from reception were kind and explained everything properly.

I stayed here for two nights. It was a decent hotel. It‘s close to Vitosha Boulevard, about a 15-minute walk. So, I recommend it. The thing I didn't like was the smell inside the closet; I couldn't put my clothes in because it was very smelly. Also, the room wasn't really fresh in terms of air, and something had an unpleasant odor, though I couldn't pinpoint what it was.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Our room was fine - the clerk said it was their best. There is a good shower with very strong water pressure and dispensers for shampoo, body wash and conditioner. If you prefer bar soap, bring your own. At the sink are dispensers for soap and moisturizer. The breakfast is particularly good- see the photos.

Nice hotel 10 minutes walk from the center. The neighborhood is not dangerous contrary to what I have read. On the other hand the wifi is slow the little time it works. Avoid the breakfast! It was by far the worst we had in the entirity of Bulgaria and certainly isn't worth its money. You got bakeries all around for that. The rooms were OK, although could use some maintanence. The showerhead was broken in a way that half of the water came out its back.

Just a ten minute walk from all the action its close enough to be ideal amd far enough to be "quiet." Rooms are excellent in size and amenity and the bed is comfortable.
