Great hotel, great service, great location! The rooms are spacious and cleaned every day (which seems to be a problem for so many hotels these days). The pools are really good, spacious and they are warm (all of them!). The hotel is situated above Velingrad (in the forest), but close enough to walk to the town centre. The staff are very polite and always ready help. The breakfast is one of the best I've ever had, the restaurant is very good, although a bit expensive compared to the ones in town.

Maxi used to be my favorite hotel for over 15 years, but not anymore. The quality is drastically downgraded. Nothing to do with 5 stars hotel. Customer service is not existing. They don’t care.
The facility is outdated, dirty/smelly carpets, leaking bathrooms, not working jacuzzis, etc.
About the food and restaurants - Avoid packages with dinner, monotonous and mostly unrecognizable casseroles. wilted fruit and salads with flies everywhere. I’m doubtful about the freshness and hygiene. Shortage of cutlery, dirty plates and midges everywhere. Breakfast is manageable.
About the spa - Small kids was entering the spa facilities ( despite the sign “not allowed under 12). Talking loudly and distracting. Roasting and peeling off edges all over. Half of the buttons and jacuzzis was not working.
About rooms - The room we got, for first time ever!, at the end of the hotel, facing warehouses and garbage. They call it “deluxe” and charged me higher. All the rooms are the same in this hotel (+/- 1-2 meters more space), so there is nothing like “standard” or “deluxe”. Carpet was dirty and smelly, old funny design. AC was not working properly. Blowing air, but not cooling. The safe was not working. Half of the lamps, not working. The bathroom was leaking from everywhere and making it difficult to use after shower.

Disappointing Experience at Maxi Park Hotel and Spa
I had high expectations for my stay at Maxi Park Hotel and Spa in Velingrad, but unfortunately, my experience was far from the luxurious retreat I had anticipated.
On the day of my stay, I ordered a Caesar salad from the hotel bar, expecting a high-quality meal given the hotel's 5-star rating. However, within hours of consuming it, I found myself severely ill with food poisoning. I spent the entire evening violently ill vomiting. This was an incredibly distressing experience, to say the least, and completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing stay.
To make matters worse, when I brought this issue to the attention of the hotel staff, including the administrator and the manager, I was shocked by their lack of concern. Instead of taking responsibility for the situation, they merely wished me a speedy recovery and refused to reimburse me for the ordeal I went through.
For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury establishment, this level of customer service is unacceptable. Food safety is paramount, and their indifference to such a serious issue speaks volumes about their priorities. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Maxi Park Hotel and Spa to anyone looking for a safe and enjoyable stay.

We have been there on Christmas 2022 with 2 kids, the phones didn’t work and we needed to go very far to get to reception each time with 2 small kids and a stroller through corridor with stairs only! The tea pot couldn’t reach the socket and to use it you need to put it under the table on the floor. Some lamps didn’t work at all. On Christmas eve the staff didn’t speak English and we needed to ask for cups and utensils as it is not clear we need them in order to eat . A lot of food were missing and ppl stood in a long queue for long time waiting for it. We left the next day as it was hell for us. After few days i got a call from the reception to let me know that i cannot ask for refund (although i didn’t even ask) just to make sure i will not dare to.

We had a great time during the Easter holidays. Our room was upgraded, the food was really good, the spa and the swimming pools too. I only missed infrared sauna in the spa, but it is not a big deal. I love how there is an option to make fresh orange juice for breakfast and the opportunity to take a hike right next to the hotel.

My recent stay at maxi hotel was a mix of highs and lows. While the spa facilities like the sauna and massage were top-notch, several aspects of the overall experience left much to be desired.
Firstly, during check-in, the hotel staff failed to provide essential information about the dinner package and other details about the hotel, leading to confusion and frustration. Moreover, at the restaurant, despite having a dinner package, we were not asked about it, resulting in a mix-up with our food order. It took an hour to correct a simple mistake with my son's burger order.
Furthermore, the room was lacking basic amenities like a hairdryer and toilet brush, and the floor showed signs of damage. The most concerning issue was the leaking shower cabin, which not only caused inconvenience but also raised questions about hygiene and maintenance standards.
Additionally, there were no visible measures taken by the staff to ensure the water quality of the pools, which led to my family and me experiencing eye infections after just one night.
Despite these drawbacks, I must commend the spa facilities, which were of exceptional quality and provided a much-needed respite during our stay.
Overall, while Hotel Maxi has some notable strengths, such as its spa facilities, there are significant areas for improvement in terms of communication, room amenities, maintenance, and hygiene standards.

wonderful hotel, not the first time here, but now, more than ever. so clean, renovated spa and saunas, mineral hot water in the , pools; excellent hot water pool outside, big rooms, friendly service and feeling the hotel is managed by very good professional woman. thanks for this special vacation.

Hotel with a very good location overlooking the town in the midst of pine woods. In many ways, a very charming place with an art-deco hall, great bar, and good wellness and spa offerings.
Some public spaces need a makeover though (yes, the lift) and the restaurant is not up to par (strictly avoid the creme brulee).

Old and dirty - this hotel has nothing to do with 5 Stars. The whole furniture and carpets are old and very dirty. The indoor pools are peeling off. The fitness center is basically not functionining (treadmill and cross trainer) and water is dripping from the ceiling. We had booked the highest category room in the hotel and had to change 3 rooms due to poor quality. In the first one the bath tub was peeling off and black and moldy; in the second one the air conditioning was as loud as a helicopter and not working and in the 3rd one there were blood stains on the bedding. This is when we gave up and cancelled the booking. While helping us move in between rooms the bellboy was moaning and complaining that we shall decide on a room and not make him work more while the cleaning lady was pissed when I asked her to change the missing light bulbs in the second room and slapped the door at us. Only the receptionist was nice but helpless, the customer relationship manager not managing cusotmer relationships and the hotel manager not existent which is probably why this place is falling apart. Stay away!

I randomly see a Black Friday deal. I decide to plan a trip and book for me and two kids, I pay the deposit and have a booking confirmation stating the total amount, the number of people, etc and all is fine. Few hours later I’m called and told that I need to pay for the third person extra when we arrive. Sorry but no, if you make mistake on your offers, suck it up and don’t bother guests who already planned, booked and payed. I’m waiting for my refund and not coming back to this hotel as it does not respect itself or it’s guests.
