Makronisos Village

The rooms were very clean, and we had a working air conditioning unit. The food was also good and the drinks were really cold considering the conditions. However, I have to criticize the staff's service readiness, because on the last night they forgot to bring us dessert. In addition, my girlfriend asked the staff for an ashtray 3 times from two different people. A little more assertiveness in that regard will make it work.

I stayed here for almost 2 weeks and I can honestly say I’ll never stay here again. Makronissos as a place is so beautiful and peaceful but the village apartments is far from that. We booked this resort after reading the reviews and how great they were. Feel like we’ve stayed in a completely different place. First of all, when we arrived we was given a stuff room on the ground floor, even though we paid for an upgrade with a balcony and a bigger room. When we complained we were told they couldn’t move us, after going back to the room we found 3 cockroaches, 2 in the kitchen and 1 on the bed. After going back and forth to reception after the 3rd time they agreed to give us a temporary room. We were moved into the room that we actually paid for the next day and everything was fine. Our maid was absolutely loverly, so friendly cleaned the apartment spotless, can’t remember her name think it might have been coola, she wore a cute bucket hat. Pool area is nice and the staff in the bar/restaurant are very friendly. Shoutout to George who was the most friendly of them all. Pool is extremely warm, not sure if this is something they can fix so wont hold them to that. We ended up going to the beaches around us most of the time, the bus stops are very close and buses are very cheap. Food in the resort isn’t the best and it’s not exactly cheap either. However, the entertainment some nights was good, Elvis was funny. To top off the holiday, when we asked for late check out (which was one of the reasons we booked the holiday village) we were told we couldn’t have it, “too full”, but the place has been empty since we got here🤷🏽‍♀️ Feel like every time we “bothered” them with something we got told no… no… no. Overall, had a good holiday when we wasn’t in this place. If you do end up staying here, going to the beach over the road is your best bet.
