Dorint An den Westfalenhallen Hotel in Dortmund

I stayed at this hotel in Dortmund for 5 days. I don’t usually write hotel reviews, but this time I really feel the need to share my experience.

🔹 Check-in:
The hotel is large and quite well-known, with above-average prices. We booked it on Booking.com because we liked the photos and the location. At the reception we were greeted normally, but when we mentioned an important request for us (which did not break any hotel rules), the receptionist responded rather rudely, saying it was not allowed – even though there was no such restriction in the hotel policy. The situation was resolved by the hotel manager, to whom we are very grateful: he was kind, helpful, and greeted us every time we met him.

🔹 Room:
The room is large and fairly comfortable, but very old and in urgent need of renovation. The ventilation grilles were dirty, and it was immediately noticeable.

🔹 Parking:
Parking costs €20 per day. The first two days everything was fine, but on the third day we were no longer allowed to enter. We called reception three times, and each time we were told it wasn’t their problem and that we should park somewhere on the street. This was a very unpleasant experience.

🔹 Cleanliness:
In 5 days, the room was cleaned only once.

Overall, we thank the manager for his kindness, but the reception service and the condition of the rooms definitely need improvement. I hope the management takes action and renovates the property.

During the European Cup, we stayed for over 4,000 per night. I gave a bad review right after checking out. First: Five minutes after we checked in, a *** waiter knocked on the door and asked if we smoked? We told her at the time that we didn't, but she just broke into our room and looked around, then went to the neighbors and knocked on the doors to ask if anyone was smoking. After we checked out, she fined us 200 euros, which was very unpleasant. Second: We bought mineral water in the hotel for seven euros a bottle. The English people next to us couldn't stand it anymore and directly helped us scold the waiter. Third: There is no kettle in the room! Don't want to say it anymore, don't book this hotel! A hotel that loves to catch rabbits! Worse than domestic Samsung!
