Very good hotel, but it’s a pity that the service is so bad

Great hotel, large clean rooms and close to shops and resturants. Ideal if your visiting Essen University Hospital

Beautiful location, very functional for congress or other business meetings. The breakfast has a wide range of options. Even for lunch and dinner there were vegan options, although the steak was delicious

Let me start saying that this is a 4 star superior hotel, which in my opinion is close to a 5 star than a 4

Near the hotel there is an incredible park with wildlife and hiking areas

The Atlantic Congress can be reached by metro (Messe Ost / Gruga exit), or about 30 minutes by taxi from the Duesseldorf airport

Good, but parking costs 15 euros a day

It looked good..breakfast was great. Although it was not in the city center, everywhere was close.

Front facing room. Tends to be a bit noisy so couldn't open windows. Excellent breakfast menu.

Better than expected, a bit dated, very small safe, only for mobile phone, good beds and breakfast

Good service even in challenging times

Luckily, the staff accomodated my needs by keeping my medicine in the fridge at the lobby bar. But I wonder if they could have handled 10 diabetics at once. All the being said, the service was very good

They have amenities however they have to be requested at the front desk, slippers, grooming kit, shoehorn, etc. They have a umbrella rental stand at the exit, making a great feature for those pesky weather moments

I stayed there during Essen spiel. The mini-fridge in the rooms do not cool anything at all and might as well not have existed. Since I have diabetes and need to keep my medicine cold, it was an issue

They have a bar in the lobby however it opens in the afternoon. The breakfast and dinning area are on a completely different floor which makes it even more accommodating

Very Nice hotel downtown Essen. Rooms are clean and Well maintained. The room we had, was functional and had a Nice bed. Very friendly staf and speak All english

Good choice of hotel due to its proximity to the main station. The room was basic, but neat and tidy. Service was overall good as well

We stayed here several times now, always during the Spiel Messe. The location is great, near the main train station and thus also the underground line to the Messe

And one of the advantages of Intercity hotels is that you get a card which allows you to use the local public transport for free during your stay

In general, we had a nice stay. Only unpleasant moment was breakfast time. Compare to the number of room, breakfast saloon is very small. Long queue for a coffee (front of ONLY ONE coffee machine)

I wish the hotel had offered a bit more on the service side though, for example only basic soap shampoo was available and even upon request, there was no conditioner

There is not enough place to sit and get breakfast. It might be as a reason of peak season (Christmas time). However, it was still unpleasant moment

Basically all you need, good priced room and decent bed. BUT the downstairs cafe sells things priced a bit too high. €5,50 for a single water is a bit much

Price - performance absolutely fair. Good location near main station. It's the style, but the staff a bit too informal for my taste. But that is more personal option. Others may like it. Nothing to complain.

Hotel stay was nice, good bedding, I enjoy the relaxed Moxy style. Make sure you have no issues with your payment though - I stayed here one week ago for one night and used the parking lot

We were very happy that the room was ready at our arrival one hour before official check in time. The room was big enough, the bed was comfortable and I really liked the small sitting area next to the bed

The room is nice and clean, The air conditioning and heating system is excellent, the bed is wide and not high, there is no water kettle for tea, check out of the hotel at 11! They did not alert us to that, and they open the door of the room on you while you are in it! Stayed here for one night for a concert. It was clean, quiet, had good AC and is a short walk to the main Essen train station, so ticked all of the boxes

Good service, nice and clean hotel. Expensive parking, which isn't included. Trains passing by isn't a + except if you are traveling by one of them. 😉

The bar tender Antonio was an exceptional worker and should be commended for his work ethics and service. He worked great under pressure when the bar was busy and still gave everyone an outstanding service

Me and my dad just stayed here during the euros. Clean rooms and showering facilities were above and beyond. Reception staff were so helpful always on hand for information and extra towels and pillows etc

Stayed at this hotel many times and now always look to stay here when in Essen. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean, good-sized rooms.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay. The rooms were nice and clean — great value for the price! The staff were also the most friendly and helpful hotel staff I’ve ever met in all my travels in Germany

Although it was built in 2000, it doesn't feel old at all. It is clean and tidy, and has a capsule coffee machine. Essen has a large green area, so the air in the whole city is very comfortable

Things to note: - The hotel is a bit of a walk to the city centre and multiple tram tickets can get quite expensive - Parking is 18Euros per day — on the pricier side

You are given a parking ticket to be reused throughout the stay which is super convenient

It is convenient to check in and the service attitude is very good

The service attitude is perfect, the hygiene is very, very good, but the decoration is a bit plastic, it doesn't feel very good, I didn't get a room with an exterior view, but the other rooms have balconies.

Lovely stay Stayed for 8 nights. From start to finish felt welcome. Lovely balcony. Past the cleaner most mornings and greeted with a smile. Good breakfast. Would book again if staying in Essen.

Didn't spend much time in the hotel as we were mostly at Spiel Essen. Rooms were clean, neat and good quality, with good showers. When we asked to hold onto our many bags of boardgames it was no problem

The wifi needs an Update, 2024 and just scraping by on two bars is not acceptable. Breakfeast was good, but at 20€ pr day it is in the heavy end. Did not eat dinner at the hotel

Rooms were very modern and Clean, Location was also good. You could take a bus from Central station to the Hotel

I stayed in this place many times, the room is ok has everything what you need, the only complaint is the sink was blocked in the bathroom, that’s happened before with bathroom shower as well

The breakfast was well organised and the restaurant is a recommendation for lunch and dinner. Last but not least the personnel is really guest focussed

The waiter really makes every evening special, an excellent host. Nice rooms, dog friendly, great for children. A lot of room to play around or to play in the pool

When pruce for taxinor train is calculated into the total cost of being further away from the Messe the appartment really becomes a very good option. We got an appartment on the 5th floor with a privat balcony

The hotel is a short metro ride away from essen. Unfortunately this stops at 23. 00hrs so its a taxi or walk 45 minutes to get back. The area has good facilities with several pubs and restaurants within walking distance

The location is ideal if you are traveling by public transportation and have business on the Gruga Location/ Messe Essen. The only negative is, that there are some but not a lot of parking spaces that belong to the hotel

The location is unbeatable! Just steps away from the U11 subway, connecting you effortlessly to Rüttenscheid, the city centre, and Essen's main „attractions“ like Messe Essen, Gruga Park, and the concert arena

Absolute Gem! Mintrop's Concierge exceeded all expectations. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment I stepped in, I felt right at home. This contemporary apartment hotel is impeccably clean and meticulously maintained

In the appartment there are only cutlery for two people, hence you have to clean it after every use. There is s dishwasher but it makes no sense using it for two knives, two forks and two dishes

The children's menu in the bar/restaurant is limited. I suspect this is because they have more business stays than families. In the room, there was a dated iPhone dock by the bed

We stayed at Heiner's as a family for 5 days. There is very little to fault. The Hotel is very clean and spacious and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful

The location is great to access the local areas by foot, bike or car. We stayed in the Junior Suite and it was extremely comfortable. My only suggestions to improve the experience are small

this must be the best neighbourhood to live in around Essen - beautiful, serene environment. the hotel is very old but very well maintained. service is excellent and very consistent

the restaurant is very good too, although a bit pricey. Edeka is right outside, with a bakery and ice cream shop just round the corner

Lovely & Authentic German Experience Quaint & lovely with an authentic German clement combined with modern touches - in a lovely garden district suburb of Dusseldorf in Essen - built in the early 1900’s

the only downside is the very weak aircon, but a fan was provided and it was enough in mid summer. i stayed for 15 nights and i will not hesitate to stay here again
