1) hygiene problem- there is an e-cigarette butt left under the table
2) shower - water kept on leaking out while taking a shower, apparently the water drainage is partially blocked, checked in at around 2215 ,kept calling the reception about the water problem and there is no answer. I had to run down to the reception and waited for like 20 minutes to get in touch with a staff, and the answer I got was there is no technician late night to fix the problem, they even have to look for towels for me! Amazing!
3) service - I tried to call to ask for a bowl for my child. First, I got a hold of the lady at the reception by phone, she told me to personally go to the restaurant or F&B outlet to ask for one, I asked if I can call room
service for one, she said I will be charged if I ask room service for a PLAIN bowl. I think I will just take a trip to the restaurant to ask for a BOWL, the handsome looking gentleman (waiter) seems like he doesn’t know what is a BOWL and he told me it’s not available. I asked if there is not a single bowl in the hotel, he said YES! This is new to me! Then I went back to the front desk to the same lady, she said I need to go back to ask the gentleman, I told her what happened and she seemed a bit puzzled, but at least she tried to help and went into the restaurant and got me a PLAIN BOWL. Not even talking about me have to personally go down to get a bowl, the time taken for me just to simply get a bowl is out of my imagination.
To sum up, the hotel itself is more than satisfactory, but the services are a mess, the unwillingness to help me on my problems made this stay a really bad experience for us!

This was, without question, the worst hotel experience during my entire EU trip. I booked this hotel for my final night, thinking the free airport shuttle would make things easier. Their website clearly states the shuttle picks up at Arrival A1, where I waited for over an hour—no shuttle ever arrived, and there was zero communication or assistance. Took a taxi instead and paid for 35euro.
Things only got worse at check-in. I arrived at 4 AM and was met by a receptionist named Errachid, who seemed completely untrained and unsure of what to do. It took nearly 20 minutes for him to figure out how to check me in, and when I politely asked how much longer it would take, his response was, “I can’t fly, I will let you know when it's done”. After more minutes he just put the room card in front of me, No explanation was given about hotel amenities, breakfast, or anything else.
The room I was given had a broken AC. I tried calling reception—no answer. I called again at 7 AM and was told a technician would come, but no one ever did.
Unprofessional service, lack of communication, and zero accountability. I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel—especially if you’re relying on basic services like transportation or a comfortable stay.
On the day I left on 26th Apr at around 6am, there was only 1 staff at the counter but he was at the crew only counter. He rejected my request to store my luggage with the hotel even though I will be returning in a week's time and check in again on 2nd May. He didn't even bother to check my next booking and simply told me to store it at the airport.
The hotel also deducted hotel tax for 2 persons even though I was the only one checking in on 24th Apr. I emailed the hotel about this and agreed to rectify this overcharge (by the hotel) when I check in on 2 May.
Unfortunately, I injured my ankle on 28th Apr while travelling around Munich and have not recovered since. As it is very inconvenient for me to drag my big luggage together with an in injured leg (I have been limping), I had to book Hilton hotel which is located much closer to the train station and the airport. Obviously, Steigenberger rejected my cancellation request since the booking is non cancellation.
Well, for the sake of my poor ankle, I have no choice but to forgo the close to US$400/- paid upfront to the hotel. But never never again will I ever book this hotel again.
Btw, Staff at Hilton and the other hotels I've stayed in the last 1 week were much more friendlier and helpful. Hilton is even willing to store my luggage for 12 days.
