Reviews
I booked an old-style room and added a note requesting not to be placed in the modern brown room. I even had a confirmation email with a photo of the room type I booked. On arrival, I was given the modern room anyway. The manager told me they “don’t read comments or respond to individual emails” and that guests simply get whatever similar price room is available.
When I questioned this, he became increasingly aggressive and refused to offer any solution—not even a small gesture like complimentary parking. I stepped outside into the snow to get away from the confrontation, and he actually followed me outside, continuing to raise his voice even while I repeatedly said, “Stop, leave me alone.”
This behaviour is completely unacceptable. Basic hotel management: read guest requests, communicate if you can’t meet them, and offer a small gesture when something goes wrong. Yelling at a guest is inexcusable.
It was an absolutely wonderful experience staying at this hotel.
1.The hotel room was very spacious and beautifully decorated.
2.It had minifridge, kettle, several towels, dryer, tv, comfy bet, several closets to store the clothes, a safe and many mirrors.
3.It was located right at the altstadt/ centre of füssen and everything was available at walking distance. The bus to neuschwanstein castle could be taken after a 5min walk.
4.Superb breakfast at a very reasonable price.
5. Very beautiful views.
6.The receptionists and staff were so very nice and went above and beyond to make our experience the best.
Only a few things could be improved:
1.There is no lift so heavy bags have to be self lifted to third or fourth floor.
2.No microwave or iron in room.
3. Reception is available during limited time.
My room was on the 4th floor, near the exhaust fan, which caused cooking smells to drift in. This made it less ideal to open the window for fresh air, but the hotel thoughtfully provided a fan for ventilation.
The staircase is quite narrow, so carrying large luggage can be inconvenient. Overall, it’s a convenient stay for its excellent location, but there’s room for improvement in cleanliness and ventilation.
We had dinner at Ludwig’s Restaurant in Füssen — the location is great and service was polite, but the food didn’t fully live up to expectations if you're looking for authentic Bavarian cuisine.
I ordered the schnitzel, which was okay in flavor but came in a rounded shape, not the traditional thin, pan-fried style you'd expect. It also didn’t come with a proper Kartoffelsalat (potato salad) — which felt like a missed touch.
We also tried the Schweinebraten, which was tender but lacked the rich flavor and crispy crust you'd hope for. The dish felt a bit flat, like it had been made for tourists rather than locals.
Not a bad spot if you're in the area, but if you’re after truly traditional southern German food, there are probably more authentic options nearby
The room was very spacious and comfortable.
The room is a little dim, so you can hear the people next door, but it's close to the station and has great access, so I highly recommend it. By the way, it's about a 20-minute bus ride to the place in the photo.
