Where to stay in Fussen

Beautiful hotel with great service. The breakfast buffet has a chocolate fountain and champagne! The variety is more like a cruise ship breakfast. My room is large, comfortable and the A/C works like magic. I slept well. The location is walking distance to many shops and restaurants since it’s centrally located in the town. So glad we made this choice!

We loved staying at the Schlosskrone. It's luxurious but in a nice low key way. The rooms were very nice with wooden decor and baths and balconies, the beds were comfortable, the staff were very helpful, and the breakfasts were amazing and in an atmospheric dining room. It's a great location 3 minutes' walk from the station and right next to the old town - a little noisy to sit on the balcony for long...

Our family has a really great experience at this hotel and highly recommend it. It's the only one that we've stayed at that had a mini fridge to keep our beverages cold. The beds are very comfortable and after two nights of sleeping on them, the backache I had for the previous week was gone. The room was large by European standards and very clean. Typically, I reserve a double room for the space and comfort but decided to try the single room. It's definitely smaller but had all the amenities of the other rooms. It had a window that opened for fresh air as well as a/c for warmer days. The bathroom was, again, small for the single room. Don’t let the name fool you. Some Best Western hotels in the US can be a bit lack-luster and mediocre in quality. This Best Western is well above and beyond that benchmark. I stayed here 3 summers ago, amazing location, great staff, memorable BMW drive, great spa area and never felt so at peace, I’ve traveled to 30+ countries and stayed in many places this and the Chateau in Quebec City are my favorite places I’ve stayed, this is pure Bavaria very much recommended for a cultural experience and relaxation..........

This is our second 2 nights stay. We choose it mainly because of the location. Large clean rooms many with balconies nicely located not too far from Fussen center and a good departure point for many interesting local hiking routes. Breakfast is very good. Bicycles available to rent.

The hotel is in a very peaceful location even if the town centre can be reached in few mins by car or by foot. Rooms are big with balcony where to relax. Delicious breakfast served at the restaurant. Recommended.

This is a beautiful hotel tucked away behind the city. Speaking with the hotel staff that easily spoke English they explained the incredible history of the hotel. When I came down for breakfast in the morning they had a table set and reserved for me. This was a wonderful experience.

We arrived very late here. Came in and an elderly man greeted us. Told us everyone had gone and asked our names. He handed us our room key and said not to worry about paperwork and the usual until next day and welcomed us to the hotel. We immediately felt at home. The rooms are very clean and the personnel is so friendly, I loved the dinner night. Every Wednesday they have a special Eastern European (Croatian) menu where they serve great warm meat plates. Parking is free and sauna only 3€/person. Great place to stay if you are in the area to visit the castle. They provide discounts to the tours!

The hotel is located in a small town Füssen close (around 4 km) from the Neuschwanstein castle, on the side of a forest. The building of the hotel is like a mansion with a big garten. When you enter, you start to feel yourself like a baron. The whole mood of the place is majestic. The room we were in was tiny, but clean. There was no minibar, but a bottle of not expensive wine was prepared in the room...

Pros: Nice new hotel in Füssen. Secluded villa feel/setting, even though you are minutes from the town center. Very nice staff. English speaking. Unique layout that didn't feel like a hotel. Cons: Walls are paper thin. I could hear the guy in the next room clear his throat. The breakfast was less than I've been getting at comparable hotels around Germany/Bavaria. I would stay again.

Very nice stay. I enjoyed the decor, the room, and the people. It's very walkable to get to the middle of Füssen (10-15 min walk) and it has some nice views.

I loved my stay at Villa Toscana! The room was romantic and beautiful. The location feels quiet and out of the hustle and bustle of the city but is an easy walk to the town, shops, restaurants, and train station. Perfect place to stay if you are thinking about going sight seeing to the castles. Breakfast service is absolutely delicious and their wine bar has a pretty large menu with some beer as well...

Much like a bed and breakfast. Be aware the lift shuts down around 8pm and you'll need to climb the stairs. The grounds are nice and the location feels remote. About 10 minutes walk to the train.

All the things from a traditional alpine house. The wellness looked like it was built a week before, so clean and zen. The jacuzzi was enormous and can easily hold 8 people. Bring that its off season, that is the reason why I rated service 4 stars. I am very sure that it would be 5 stars when fully operational. The location is ideal being only less than 5 minutes from Hohenshwangau and Neushwanstein castles. The rooms are very comfortable and in the corridor has a vending machine for beers and hot water kettles are available as well with coffee and tea complimentary.

This hotel is in the perfect location! Just a short drive or about a 20 minute walk to the castles. All of the employees were very kind. The food was delicious. We especially loved the beautiful dining room with views of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau.

Rooms are ok. We were given an unnecessary barrier-free room, which was a good size with a massive bathroom. If it was just room quality the hotel would not score great, but what really sells it is the location (superb) and the food. This is a very nice hotel situated, conveniently close to the Altstadt of Füssen. The rooms are very comfortable, the views are amazing, and the breakfast buffet was great. Didn’t have time or opportunity to enjoy dinner here, but what I saw the food looked great as well. It’s very pretty inside and out.

We had a great stay at this hotel! It's super cute, and the location couldn’t be better—just a 5-minute walk to the main downtown area. Plus, there's a big grocery store nearby, which was really convenient. Our superior double room was nice, and they have breakfast buffet. Really enjoyed our quick stay here, wish we had more time. Rooms were nice and large, AC was an issue, but we dealt with it. Breakfast is so good and the staff is very friendly. Would stay here again. Great walking area and rooftop hangout.

I killed two silverfish in my unit upon arrival. There is no air con, there is just an air cooling system which may or may not work. The water drainage in my shower took a long time to drain, so the tiles in the whole washroom ended up being wet. Fortunately, it dried overnight. The set dinner was better than I expected with generous portions.

Great hotel in this tidy tourist town. Friendly advice from staff and excellent breakfast—maybe the best we have had at a hotel. No styrofoam plates with processed food that so many Americans are used to for hotel fare. Buffet and made to order items and a giant tub of Nutella.

The location is perfect. It's located in a middle of Fussen. We spent 3 nights here. The breakfast is varied and delicious. They offer hot plates, salmon, salad and dessert. Love it so much!

We just had the best breakfast on the planet! Seriously! Our room was very nice with a few flaws. The carpeting is very old, hard as tile with lots of stains and wear marks. There is a three inch step by the door that is easy to trip over. The water temperature of the small shower varies. We had to park in a dirt lot a block away. Bathroom was very tiny. Balcony was a nice touch. Huge wellness center. Bar and restaurant made fantastic drinks. Only downside was our room wasn’t ready at 3 even though check in is a 3. Also they don’t have phones and use tables for everything versus paper upon check in and asked for all our information even though we had booked through them already.

Loved Füssen and loved this hotel. Location couldn't be better. Best included breakfast I've ever had. Manager was congenial and very helpful. A lot of locals were in the restaurant as well as hotel guests and the staff was great.

What a wonderful place! My family and I stayed at this location for one night. It was incredibly comfortable. Everything was super clean. The room was spacious. We did a lot of research and decided on this hotel due to the price, location, and benefits. The pictures also looked very nice. Unfortunately we had to cancel last-minute due to car troubles. Servers on the phone were extremely kind and the manager was also very responsive and accommodating. Hope to stay here for real in the future soon.

Staff was very friendly and helpful at check in. Location is gorgeous and parking easy and cheap on street. Need to walk 2 sets of slippery stairs (could be a problem for some). We had the luxery suite. It was big and functional for our family. There are separate rooms but the main bed is not private so dont expect couple time. It was nice but outdated & could defintely be upgraded /made even nicer...

Very good appartment rooms, stunning views and all. But found the cleaner lady a bit rude, she was saying something in German to me and my friends which sounded pretty aggressive. We just ignored her and checked out of the property. Other than this, I would recommend just for the view and the restaurant that is available just downstairs.

We had a very nice and modern room with a balcony (but unfortunately quite noisy neighbors), and the wellness area was very relaxing. The food was excellent, but unfortunately the staff in the restaurant seemed overwhelmed with the shift work, and we found the dinners there to be rather uncomfortable feedings.

We stayed here for one night and it was great. Very friendly and helpful staff, an indoor and outdoor pool, foot baths, sauna and a range of spa treatments. The dinner was amazing, 5 courses! Breakfast was a big buffet with loads of choice. We had a room on the third floor with amazing views across the lake and mountains.

We really enjoyed. We were there with two kids and it was a great experience for everyone. You can easily walk to the lake and the natural swimming pool at the guest house is just amazing. Restaurants can also be easily reached on foot.

Beautiful and comfortable rooms. From rooms 5a and 6a, in the second house, a beautiful panorama opens up, probably the best in this hotel.
