I’ve stayed at the hostel 3 times already. I like it for its location (just 15 min from the Central bus station on foot or 9 min by tram which comes every 5 min), its cleanness, convenient beds, good price and, of cause, friendly and helpful staff. The area where the hostel is located is nice and safe, just 2 min from the tram stop. When the weather is nice, i walked to/from the city centre (about 30-40 min). The rooms were quiet, even the ones overlooking the busy street (when the windows were closed). The room got cleaned every day as well as the bathroom. There were always shampoo and hand wash there, the tab water had good pressure and really hot temperature. The bed linen is included in the rate (you have to make your bed yourself), but towels cost extra. You can also borrow a padlock for your locker upon availability. There is a separate storage room if you need to leave your bags before checkin or after checkout (no fee). They also offer breakfast at an extra charge, but i prefer to go to a cafe. Nearby there are grocery stores and supermarkets, you can get food from there. I really liked my stays at the hostel and will be happy to come again when i am in Munich!

Fantastic location, super connected. Unfortunately that is the only positive experience about this hostel. No power outlets in the room, and local staff refuses to charge power banks at the reception, it is extremely unreasonable and cheap to ask guests who are there to visit a city to spend hours in the lobby waiting for their power banks and devices to charge because the hostel is too busy providing “USB (A) ports” instead of power outlets. The room was clean and quiet albeit extremely stuffy and uncomfortable at night, due to poor ventilation there was a strange smell in the room that wouldn’t go away despite tilting all the windows open. The only good staff there are the Indian front office members who are kind, understanding and willing to prioritise guest comfort. The rest of the front office staff is not hospitable AT ALL.

My check in was at 3pm, but I was allowed 2-3 hours early as per my request.
The rooms are neat and clean.
In the shared kitchens, there are limited utensils which can be improved.
Close to the public transportation and main station.
Very low price compared to other hostels in Munich.

We were on the first floor and it was incredibly loud. People storming through the hallways and yelling at all hours. There is a bar in the lobby and on the roof. Lobby was always busy with people on laptops and hanging out. Front desk service was a bit slow, as it was always busy. Laundry facilities are in the basement and accessible via an app. All instructions are there. Just don’t expect your clothes to be dry, we still had to hang dry overnight after 70min of letting them toss around in the dryer. Room was fine, but a little warm. As expected in September though. The button to flush our toilet kept coming off the wall, making it very hard to use. Overall, we just picked this place as it was just under a 30min walk to Theresienwiese where Octoberfest is held. I can definitely see why it was one of the more inexpensive options compared to everything else in the city.

The staff at a&o Hostel München Hackerbrücke are friendly and accommodating, even during the busy Oktoberfest season. Mariner from Croatia deserves a special mention for his kindness and willingness to chat while cleaning tables, making me feel at home despite being far away. However, the luggage storage could be better organized, so I recommend bringing a mini padlock for extra security. Also, note that there may not be a power outlet near your bed, so you might need to recharge your devices in the lobby.

My recent stay at a&o Hackerbrücke, Munich left much to be desired. The rooms were incredibly small and lacked any form of ventilation, which made the atmosphere feel like a sauna, especially during the hotter periods of the day. The lack of airflow made it difficult to relax or get comfortable, and it was a challenge to get any restful sleep.

Adding to the discomfort, the beds were extremely noisy. Every movement resulted in loud creaks and squeaks, which further disrupted any chance of peaceful sleep. It was frustrating to have such restless nights due to the poor quality of the beds.

The experience was also negatively impacted by the erratic behavior of my roommates. One arrived very late at 2 AM, and another departed at 4 AM, both times waking me up and making it difficult to get back to sleep. This lack of consideration from other guests added to the overall unpleasantness of the stay.

While the hostel may have its merits in terms of location or price, the issues with room size, ventilation, bed comfort, and noise management significantly detracted from the overall experience. I would strongly recommend these concerns to improve the quality of stay for future guests.

In conclusion, my stay at this hostel was marred by cramped quarters, poor ventilation, noisy beds, and disruptive roommates, resulting in a disappointing experience overall. I hope that my feedback will be taken into consideration for the benefit of future guests.

Worst experience ever!!!! We were 3 girls and we had booked a women’s 6-bed room for two nights.
From the beginning the condition of the hostel was very bad, broken glass on the corridors, dirty bathrooms and the main entrance was open for everyone to enter, zero security.
The second night of our stay we arrived at night only to find the room filled with men sleeping on our beds. One of them creeped us out by starring at us at night, at some point he climbed on a girls bed and after he scarily pushed him off he went to his bed and touched himself. This wouldnt have happened if we had been assigned to our original rooms!
We decided to switch rooms after that, and while trying to find someone at the reception for 2 hours, drunk and strangely looking people were entering the hostel without any security or whatsoever.
Would not recommend!

I stayed in the twin single room which is slightly off from the main communal rooms, so the noise isn’t too much of a concern.

There was shower gel, soap and towels provided for the bathroom, the shower was a good temperature and pressure.

The wardrobe was bolted to the floor and wall with a metal frame which can be locked with a medium size padlock ( not included ).

There is a bar where you can get a number of different alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. There’s no food served after breakfast as far as I can tell, although there is a pizza machine outside which is reasonably priced and serves pizza in 4 minutes!

The staff are friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms were clean and nicely updated. Beds had a lot of privacy, personal light and charging. Bathroom was new and clean. This place is a bit of a maze but worth the price. The Sky Bar was nice but out of stock on half the beers and didn’t serve food(or snacks) as advertised. Also, not many places to eat nearby. It was close to one of the main Munich train stations. A 10 minute walk to the metro to get closer to the city center.

I have stayed in this hostel twice and I am pleased with the quality of the rooms. The rooms are clean and modern. The service is a bit slow and the staff only speaks english other than that it is alright. The breakfast is nothing special, only cold goods but it is buffet style so you can eat enough. I would 100% recommend staying at this hostel especially for only about 20 euros a night.
