The room stank, the air conditioning did not work properly, the blanket had a burnt hole in it that was covered, some lights in the room did not work period so had to shower in darkness, and there was constant small noises on top of the smell. The breakfast, service, and location were marvellous, but I would not recommend this hotel unless one is sleeping in it only for one quick night.

It’s perfectly fine if you’re looking for a place near the train station.

I wish I could give this hotel a great review, but sadly I cannot.

THE GOOD:
Check-in was easy and the self check-in kiosk allowed me to enter my info and get the code to my room in about 60 seconds. My room was a good size and the bed and bedding were very comfortable. The room temperature was also good. And the wifi worked great. Breakfast was also pretty good with a decent amount of vegetarian options, and they even had oat milk available.

THE OK:
The location was alright. It’s an 18-minute walk from the main station according to Google Maps, so probably not somewhere you want to walk with a lot of luggage. But you can take the U1/U2/U3 from hbf to Plarrer and then it’s only about a 3- to 4-minute walk when you exit the station. The old town is about a 10-minute walk away, which was convenient.

THE BAD
The bathroom is split into a side-by-side toilet area and sink/shower area, with a sliding barn door that covers one of the two at a time. The toilet area was clean and smelled fine.

But, during each night of my 3-night stay, from about 3-4pm until after I went to sleep at midnight, the shower/sink area of the bathroom emitted a horrible smell of sewage. I’m talking pungent public restroom that hasn’t been cleaned in weeks sort of smell. It was awful. I literally either held my breath or placed my shirt over my nose anytime I went in there to wash my hands, and showering at night was simply out of the question. Sliding the door to cover that area helped contain the smell from spreading throughout the rest of the room. I’d also hear water gurgling sounds throughout the night.

However, by the time I woke up in the mornings, the sewage smell was gone (instead, the shower had a slight mildew smell, which wasn’t that bad in comparison).

I would have asked for a new room (if that even would have made a difference, as I’m now reading other reviews with similar experiences), but the few times I went to the front desk, the receptionist had stepped away. Admittedly, I only went down to check a couple times and went back up when I saw no one there, so it’s totally possible it was just bad timing. I also never asked one of the breakfast attendants in the morning because they were busy and also there would be no smell to show them at that time anyway.

Other than that, only a few other minor issues: minimal counter space and no stopper in the sink to keep things going down the drain; no rack for the hand towels (outside of the rack in the shower for body towels); low water pressure in the shower; and the curtain wasn’t hung properly on the window.

The rooms are very clean and spacious. The bathroom had a wierd door that closed both the toilet space and the shower space, so I wouldn't recommend for a couple/family book such room. I felt very safe, the door opens and closes up using a key code. There is a nice breakfast offer and the service is kind. I am not the biggest fan of the location, Präller is full of wierd people.

Overall fantastic stay. I found the bed a little too soft for my liking, but nothing serious. The carpet was a little bit dirty, but the bathroom looked spotless. Can't get over the amazing breakfast, they had a really wide selection!

Location was great - a tram station was right in front of the hotel, the city centre is within walking distance (or one tram stop away). Great Egyptian restaurant round the corner and a supermarket not far away. Room was comfortable, with the option to turn on and adjust the air conditioning. Toilet is separate from the shower and sink area, with a sliding door that isn't sound (or smell) proof, so a bit awkward. Good value for money. Would have been great if there was a kettle and a mini fridge, but that's not really common in Germany in general. It was quite quiet in the room overall, no sounds from the street outside but could hear some gurgling water on and off (I think from the air conditioning system).

Advantages:
- Location is very close to the Old Town, subway and trams
- Good breakfast for reasonable price
Disadvantages:
- Very small room, especially bathroom
- No wardrobe
- I saw cockroach in the bath((

This is my second time staying with B&B Hotels in Nurnberg and first at the Plärrer location. The hotel is very clean, easy to access (12 minute walk from train station), and a great value for the budget-minded traveler

.I was in Nuremberg on a short trip. The hotel was suitable for the purpose, public transport is good. The shower cabin leaks water. The breakfast selection is a bit poor. The hotel was suitable for the purpose regardless.

It was my first time traveling from the UK to Germany, and the location of the hotel was great—everything was close by. I arrived late at night, so I had to do a self check-in, which was easy to complete. My room was on the top floor. While the room and the shower were clean, I did notice that one of the built-in wall lights was broken, with the light hanging off the wall, and the shower had slight mold.

Since my room was on the top floor, there was consistent noise coming from the ventilation system, even with the room ventilation switched off. This noise was bothersome and impacted the quality of my sleep.

The Wi-Fi, however, was amazing—fast enough for streaming videos without any interruptions. Over the four days, I interacted with three different receptionists. Only one of them (the one who helped me the morning after my late-night arrival) was friendly and helpful in answering my questions. The rest of the staff didn't show much friendliness. The last person I interacted with, on the day of checkout, was a gray-haired, mature man who was rude, ignorant, and confused me by giving contradictory advice on the checkout process.

Overall, I liked my stay at the B&B Nürnberg-Plärrer Hotel. It was good value for money, but I wouldn’t recommend staying at this particular location due to the constant, quiet noise from the ventilation system (likely due to the building's structure) and the impolite, unhelpful staff. I might stay with the same hotel chain again, but not at this particular hotel.
