Reviews
Rooms are modern and clean. We found the pools to be nice although more crowded in the family side. We thought the food was very good for a resort and did have a few stand out meals at Chinola and the tasting for our wedding! The hibachi is also great! Drinks are generally very good, especially the frozen ones.
We loved the beach, water is clean and calm. We rented a paddle boat for an hour as a fun excursion.
The staff was lovely and we enjoyed every second of our stay. We can’t wait to return next year!
Pablo Picasso is one of a kind! He doesn’t just “run” activities, he gives it his all, and my son Oliver will speak about him forever. He helped him with his bball swing while always exuding positivity. NEXT The Rock, a staple to our trips to the Hilton! His ability to help nutrition, work outs, and overall positive attitude towards fitness is continuing!
The aqua park and Enclave pool were lovely and we had a great time there.
Where this place falls, is that service is terrible, the staff are rude, slow and look like they don't want to be there.
The main pool was nice, but it had swirls of yellow oils near the cabanas, I think the pool needed to be cleaned better. The Jacuzzi was so hot it felt like it burned when you walked into it.
If you are on the family side you cannot go to any of the restaurants on the adult side.
The buffet is in a hut that is dingy and as there is no A/C it feels hot, humid and there were flies. Whilst I think the food I tried was lovely, it was hard to determine what I was eating as the labelling was on a board rather than next to the food. As the Staff serve you food rather than taking it yourself, queues for food were long.
Although the hotel itself is lovely and the location is great, ultimately I would not stay here again.
Ran out of raspberry vodka and ingredients to make a mohito tonight , French restaurant is best one. Location is beautiful but nothing around you to do or visit. They have the excursions but so expensive at the hotel.
All inclusive but it's not as bottled beer has to be bought from the bar and the beer they have on tap is not that nice.
The resort sits on beautiful waters with nice beaches and no public traffic on the beach trying to sell stuff. All in all, it's an outstanding resort. We've done Sandels in the past, and this was better. Many activities to keep you entertained!
Now, some constructive input: the pools and pool bars close at 6 pm. It's entirely too early! They should be open until at least 10 pm, especially on the adult only side!
No microwave in the suite we had
No one is verifying if you're entitled to Enclave areas, which is a paid for upgrade. We were never asked.
A smoothie bar would be a great addition!
A better beer selection at the bars, basically its Présidente or nothing.
Beautiful place!!!,
I do recommend ordering the Butler Service. It’s an even more personalized experience, well worth the money. Our butler Victor Val was such an attentive gentleman who really did believe that our stay received the VIP treatment. I can’t express enough how much his assistance was for this trip. The resort was already a 5 star experience for me, but Victor made it a 6!
Some quick notes about the resort: the grounds are immaculately maintained. The location in the Dominican Republic is stunning. The food options are great. There is
Something to do from morning until well in to the night. There is a water park that is a lot of fun. We also took advantage of the beach cabanas 3 out of the 5 day stay. Absolutely worth every penny. Cabana number 28 is in my opinion the most spectacular location on that whole beach to watch the sunset.
The one thing that I missed at check-in is a premium member/diamond member location off of the Sunset Boulevard side of the property that has an exclusive breakfast/lunch spot that is quiet and a beautiful view of the ocean. It has a limited menu but the service you receive is very fast and is an intimate dining experience. It’s just what you need to center yourself in the morning before taking on the day.
We did not do any excursions. I am a restless person who always needs to be doing something, but the resort kept me occupied with its activities and frankly, I didn’t need to go anywhere to have more fun. The stay was truly magical and I am definitely looking at going back next year again.
