I don't have anything negative about the hotel. The bad thing for us was the beach, which was impossible to swim in, with too many waves. Children can't even play on the shore, which is extremely dangerous. We even saw a person drowning, and thanks to the lifeguards, they were able to revive the person.
The rooms are quite comfortable and large. If you're not interested in buying a property, don't agree to go to the point-based talk because you'll lose half your morning. And with the vendors on the beaches, you'll find better prices.
But if you're just looking for a pool and nighttime entertainment with nightclubs, bars, and theaters, this is the perfect hotel. If you're just looking for the beach, this isn't the hotel for you, although you can find quiet beaches within a 20-minute walk along the shore.
We purchased a Paradise Pass that included $800 in resort credits, with the understanding that activities would be charged as 25% out of pocket and 75% deducted from the credits. However, this wasn’t honored. For example, a massage listed on the menu at $405 was somehow billed at $490. Based on the 75/25 rule, we should have paid only $122 out of pocket while $368 was deducted from the credits. Instead, they deducted the full $490 from the credits and still charged us $122, making the total $610. When we raised this issue with the vacation planner, we were simply told, “That’s how the hotel system works,” which was both unhelpful and frustrating.
On top of that, our room had issues. While washing my face, the faucet completely came off, causing water to flood the bathroom. We called reception, emphasizing it was an emergency, but they casually said someone would be sent within 40 minutes.
While the resort itself is beautiful, these issues with unclear credit policies and lack of responsiveness made the experience disappointing. I expected much better from a resort of this reputation.
I had high expectations for my stay at Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana, but unfortunately, it fell short in many areas. This resort is definitely not designed for adults looking for a relaxing or entertaining experience.
Firstly, there was absolutely no entertainment for adults. The main bar in the lobby, which had plenty of space, shockingly had very few chairs to sit on, leaving many guests standing around. To make matters worse, the bar was full of kids running around and screaming. It was impossible to enjoy a peaceful drink in such chaos.
The restaurants were another disappointment. While the food itself was good, all the restaurants closed at 10 PM, and they wouldn’t even accept guests after 9:30 PM. If you’re someone who enjoys late dinners, forget about it here.
This resort is clearly catered to families with kids or the elderly. If you’re looking for a place with vibrant adult-oriented entertainment or a relaxing atmosphere, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. For me, this was a regrettable choice, and I wouldn’t return
The room service was terrible—many days, my room wasn’t cleaned despite not having a “do not disturb” sign and making specific requests. Additionally, the resort lacks proper outdoor seating areas. None of the restaurants have patios where you can enjoy your meal outside, which was disappointing.
Another letdown was the food and drink options. If you’re looking for fresh juices, healthy choices, or quality ingredients, you’ll be disappointed. Even for breakfast, there wasn’t any freshly squeezed orange juice or similar offerings.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this resort to adults or couples. It’s only worth considering if you have kids and want a family-focused environment. Otherwise, you’ll likely end up frustrated and disappointed.
Had everything setup from the time we stepped off the airplane, a ride was arranged to take us to the resort.
Note that they have people waiting inside the airport right after security and they will mislead you into thinking they’re taking you to the right place to get to your ride and this is where it all starts: they will triage you to one of their reps and try and sell you on packages and excursions.
Ended up buying two of their excursions (they sounded decent, one of which was nothing like they described) which had to be setup at their location. What we found was that once there they had a rather aggressive almost quilt trip technique to try and sell you on a time share and instead of the “free breakfast and pick your excursion dates” you end up being stuck there at their will for majority of the day. Thanks a lot hard rock for wasting a whole day of our vacation.
Three different people tried to sell us on future stay packages. It’s like they were passing us around from person to person. When we told them we weren’t interested they would try and come up with some sort of guilt trip and pressure us into signing up. They even “offered” to move us from our current resort free of charge and refund us what we paid in hard rock credit. I can only imagine what this would entitle and just what hidden costs and fees we would be faced with based on previously read reviews.
Finally after having spent almost 5 hours sitting and talking finances and plans we were able to pick our excursion dates and head back to our original resort.
The fact that they mislead us and basically tricked us into coming there to check the resort with some “attractive” excursions, the pure pressure and sales tactics have deterred us from ever considering coming to your resort.
