Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa All Inclusive in Punta Cana

We just spent a week at the incredible Dreams Onyx Resort with our family of 9, and I can't say enough good things about this place. We booked a preferred swim-up room at the family pool, which was absolutely perfect for our group with children.
The service we received was truly exceptional. Castillo, the bartender at the preferred family pool, went above and beyond every single day. He quickly learned all of our drink orders and always had our favorites ready. What impressed us most was how attentive he was to our kids, making sure they had their favorite drinks too. He made everyone feel special and was incredibly friendly. Castillo is by far the best bartender we've ever encountered at a resort!
Our butler/concierge Albert was equally amazing. He was attentive, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. When we mentioned it was my mother-in-law's birthday, Albert took care of everything—he arranged beautiful decorations for her room, ordered a gorgeous cake, and had fresh flowers delivered. His attention to detail and quick service made the celebration truly memorable.
The entire staff at Dreams Onyx Resort made our family vacation unforgettable. We can't wait to return!

I was there during Thansgiving week. I loved the experience overall. The staff was very pleasant, happy and going above and beyond to help with anything. The food was delicious.
The vendors on the beach were annoying a little but they were not pushy. If you tell them you are not interested, they were leaving. The Entertainment team was adding to the fun we had in the Breathless section. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and definitely looking forward to going back there next year.

Absolutely blown away with our experience at Dreams Onyx Resort. Although I have nothing to compare it to, I work in the Travel and tourism industry and can say this place was top notch. Everyone was super friendly. We booked a swim up room in the regular section but opted to have Preferred Club privileges on arrival. The room (5107) was perfect size for my mother and I and had a great layout. The room featured two double beds, a double sink, glassed-in shower and ample storage. Our patio area was quiet and quaint loaded with a jet tub, loungers and chairs. The swim out pool was shared between 5 other rooms but there was never a time when other people were occupying it so I generally always had it solo. - the property was phenomenal. So many things to do… endless amounts of ala carte restaurants and buffet options. The food and drink were out of this world. The entertainment was great too. - we did have one issue with the room - a leak in the bathroom .. which ended up with a fall. The hotel staff handled the situation amazingly and offered free doctor care, and other additional amenities. I really enjoyed the gym as it was all updated and very spacious with an open layout. Also, despite being a family friendly resort it wasn’t overly kid-centric which was perfect for us. The option to go over to breathless and use their restaurants and pools was fantastic. I personally enjoyed the scene over there a bit more but I was always thankful to return to dreams because I found it to be MUCH nicer. I am definitely looking forward to returning. We only stayed for 5 nights, 6 days.. did not do any excursions… HIGHLY recommend going for 7-10 days.. excursions weren’t necessary with our short stay but maybe I would’ve tried one if I were there longer.

My sister and I decided on a girls trip! We are mostly there to relax and eat! We were not dissappointed. We decided on the preferred package and honestly would not have wanted to do it any other way! The nicer room, top shelf drink options and the beautiful adult pool was worth the additional fee. We had access to the breathless resort which had a bit nicer restaurants! The room was fantastic, always clean and stocked with everything we needed. The food was great! Restaurants were so good and the preferred a la carte options for breakfast and lunch were also ex optional! Our favorite was the taco truck! Superb! The staff was SUPER friendly and always offering drinks and towels! Nelis was our absolute FAVORITE! she helped make the trip great! We met so many return visitors which also says alot about the resort! The beaches were great, alot of Sargasm seaweed, but the resort was trying to clean it up. Rhe shows were good. Not long enoigh but we were always dancing in our chairs!We would go back in a heart beat!

I just came back from this resort, and as someone who travels a lot and has been to the Dominican before, this was my absolute favorite resort ever. The resort was very clean and offered amazing views and amenities. My room was always clean and topped up. I loved the room service option, and every time I needed a ride to the lobby, there was a trolley waiting. The food at all the restaurants was pretty good, and the buffet offered lots of choices. The taco truck and the Barefoot Grill always had good snacks and food, and the bartenders made the best drinks. I loved the beach; it was so relaxing, and I definitely enjoyed the water slides and pools all around the property. This is a great hotel for families, weddings, and couples. The customer service is impeccable; everybody was very helpful and kind. I will definitely recommend this resort to everybody I know, and I will definitely be back.

I saw so many mixed reviews from the food, to the rooms, & service. Our experience with our friends this October 2024 was great! Our friends check in was smooth. Mine took a little longer but still got in our room before check in time. I thought that the food was actually pretty great. Not everything I ordered but every place I found great food. Service was really wonderful. We had preferred and a butler. Our butler Henry was amazing! So helpful. The bed was very comfortable & loved that we had several options for pillows. The a/c in our room got very cold to the point I had to turn it down. We were on the side with children & we had none but we honestly there was barely any signs of kids.

6 of us just went to Dreams Onyx. This is our second time here and the experience was even better than the first. Many of the staff remembered us and we were greeted with cocktails right off the bat. I was the only one with a gluten allergy and I was able to have fries, pancakes and cheese burgers and Martin went out of his was to be sure every restaurant we attended had options for me including pasta. Can't wait until we go back next year! I should say that all of the staff was courteous and friendly and went out of there way to be sure we were happy.

I recently travelled here for my 40th birthday. If your budget allows for it, I highly suggest the preferred section of the resort, as there are so many perks that come with it! Preferred pool, beach and restaurant.

The rooms are spacious and clean. Probably one of the cleaner resorts I’ve been too.

My butler Alvaro was amazing and attentive. Any request I had was literally fulfilled within minutes. He’s a 15/10!

Food is hit or miss, in the a la cart restaurants the food more often than not came out cold and sometimes way over cooked. The buffet was great with lots of selection. If you are lucky, you will get Victor as your server in the buffet. Victor will go out of his way to make your dining experience great!

I would definitely travel back to this resort, based on the cleanliness, staff and beach.

Rooms need a little upgrade, beds are hard lol but that was the only bad thing. They have the best beach hands down, staff is amazing, Breakfast was my favorite! Kary at the beach was wonderful, please ask for her. She is attentive, makes a good drink and will spoil you. Miriam at the night time bar by the restaurants is super sweet with the most hospitality. I was amazed she remembered me and my drink orders after one night, there are so many people there. Spa was nice , I recommend you do a morning there before you get your beach on.

It had really good food like French toast, muffins, donuts and more for breakfast. It had plenty of fancy restaurants with authentic cultural dishes and more. The beach had a lot of algae and wasn’t calm most the time. Everything was close proximity and also the staff were extremely friendly. They also gave us a free pair of slippers as a parting gift.
