Reviews
We had a small bungalow. It was so convenient and close to everything.
Great little shops and a lot to do in terms of activities. Great night life too!
Spanish and Italian seem to be the main languages. Food was fine.
I would definitely recommend Viva Dominicus by the beach!
Let’s start with the good parts, it is a beautiful resort with an amazing location and view.
Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the service… my room was not properly cleaned and my biggest concern was that my door was broken and NOT closing, so anyone from the hotel could have got in, and you know what, that could have been fine, BUT when I reported the problem on my first day no one has helped me whatsoever.
I waited 5 days before the problem was solved, so basically the last day I was there the door finally closed…
Communication between the employees and employers is essential, and in a case like this my door should has been fixed on day 1, NOT DAY 5.
So the service is very poor unfortunately, and it is sad because the resort it’s nice.
Average rooms.
Service good but could be much better.
However, for me, I missed the basic shake at the bar, which is normally available in other hotels in the Dominican Republic - namely coco loco with rum.
But thank you anyway for a nice stay. And I'm glad that you take care of cats in the hotel! It's a pity that you don't sterilize them, but at least they have food and are well cared for. Best regards
Food is pretty bad and if you are vegetarian your choices are almost none, if you are vegan, just FORGET IT, this is not the hotel for you. Alcohol drinks offered in the all inclusive are PATHETIC, they are the lowest quality and the cheapest ones till the point you will be SICK. The AC IS CONTROLLED, yes CONTROLLED by them, meaning you will can’t adjust the temperature…REALLY??? Be prepared to be HOT or COLD because of that. You can hear EVERYTHING while in your room, and I mean it, it will be until the show ends around 1am. You will also hear (and you will be heard) by your neighbors. They will charge for the safe…can you believe it? And they advertised complementary COVID19 test but you have to pay for. Please remove false advertisement from your websites. I was very enthusiastic when traveling to the BEAUTIFUL DOMINICAN REPUBLIC but going to this hotel was a BIG MISTAKE I regret. We were Two (2) women traveling for vacations, we are not Mr and Mrs Cooper, we are NOT a couple and we BOTH are females.
Lively place to have lots of fun. The food wasn’t the best. I enjoyed the breakfast the most. They need heaters to keep the buffet food warm. The smoothies are great! the mixed punch was too sweet.
ROOMS - the rooms are very run down, and poorly cleaned. For example one of the bed legs was broken so the bed was tilting and our window didn’t close or open properly. I told the front desk twice about these two problems and they were never fixed. The bed skirts are stained and walls and curtains are dirty with dead bugs on them. There is no sound isolation in the front door so you hear everyone in the hallways. Bedding is just a single sheet to sleep under, mirrors and lamps are rusted, there’s no hot water… the room we had was 2 star quality at best.
DINNING - food at the buffet is mediocre, you have to constantly ask for any drinks you want, and the service is poor in general. One meal I found a rigid wire in my dish. The inclusive drinks are super watered down and extremely sugary, so bad they are not even worth drinking.
EXTERIOR - the plants are well maintained and very beautiful. There are no umbrellas on the beach, just the palm trees so it’s sometimes difficult to find any shade and you have to constantly move your lounge chair to follow it.
EXCURSIONS - they are 30% more expensive at the hotel than the normal price just right outside the resort gate. For example we rented a private boat and we’re charged $600 after some negotiating, and when we asked around it was $400 elsewhere.
SUMMARY - not the most memorable vacation so far at least not for any good reason, just the bad.
