This was our first time to Spain, and the Hotel Barcelona Universal made our experience unforgettable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very clean and modern. The rooftop area was so cool to be able to hangout with our friends and family. Enjoining the views of the city while having a cocktail was a perfect way to end our day. The rooms were very spacious the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice modern and clean. The hotel staff was accommodating by holding our luggage before we checked in so could tour the city. The staff even arranged taxis for our group, for transportation to the airport. They were even able to adjust the cabs when our flights were rescheduled. The location allowed us to easily walk to many different restaurants in the area and see some local sites. We would highly recommend staying at Hotel Barcelona Universal.

The staff at this location is nothing short of amazing!!! Check was a breeze, I arrived super early, and dropped off my luggage, walked around a bit, area has plenty of restaurants and a few shops. The rooftop pool area, has amazing views, and the hostess at the bar, was very friendly and even recommended a fabulous dinner spot, just two blocks from the hotel. Room was very quiet. Highly recommend.

We stayed for 5 nights in September 2025. The rooms were spacious, modern and always immaculate - cleaned thoroughly everyday. All the staff were so so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help and make us feel welcome.
The rooftop bar and pool was fantastic. The breakfast was fully stocked and offered plenty of delicious and fresh options!
Location was good, directly outside of a metro station. Quite a walk to some of the main tourist attractions but we didn’t mind and reception was helpful and offered advice to use public transport.
The only slight drawback was the price of drinks at the rooftop bar, which were not reflective of their quality or similar to prices at bars in the area.

Just back from 5 nights at this hotel. We had a great time in Barcelona and the hotel did everything we needed...good location, comfortable bed, clean and great roof top bar. We booked a superior room and, although spotless, we were disappointed with the shower and TV...very old fashioned and no water pressure really. Also we faced the road which meant noise at about 4am most nights as folks walked to the metro after a good night out. The location of the hotel is great for the metro and only a few stops from all the major places to visit...the area itself isn't great but if you can see past that it's an overall good hotel for a city break in beautiful Barcelona.

Just come back from a 3 night stay here. The room we had was a triple and was really spacious and brilliant for what we needed. The front desk staff and the bar lady on the roof were all excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
We we're very pleased with the restaurant
We went for food on our second night and were told they were full and to come back. There were 5 people in the restaurant all were eating they're food.
We went out for a walk and came back and were allowed in then but still told it would be half an hour wait for food?? There were now 3 people in the restaurant and me and my 2 daughters.??
We ordered had pizzas
They were nice but the service took the shine off it. Hence we didn't eat there again.
The hotel position was good if you needed the metro there was a station right outside the hotel and was only a 10 minute walk to the marina which is beautiful.
The major sights were the other end of town though so be prepared to walk or get the metro. The views of the city from the roof were amazing. The pool and bar were excellent also.

Hotel was very good, rooms were clean and spacious, bathroom large and up to date. Mattressess seemed older though with not much support. main bedrrom lacked a mirror. Elevators were so slow. Staff very professional and helpful.Our ck inwas not till 3pm we all, 13 of u, arrivwd at 10am. They stored our bags till rooms available. Rooftop a nice area to socialize.

Really great place to stay in barcelona, the station is right in front of the hotel and the place is not too far from the airport. Staff are super nice and helpful, we could keep our bags there as long as we need, rooms are very spacious, clean and good bathroom too. Has elevator, very professional and would def stay here again. The only downside is it could be a bit nosy from the room, sometimes we heard random noises but the place felt super safe anyways, so it wouldn’t stop me from
Booking again. The was plumbing issues in the toilet. Sometimes the sink and the toilet would get clogged but its usually resolved with time or after room service, but may definitely be an issue for big families. We didn’t get a chance to check out the restaurant but the pool is pretty small but theres a nice view from the rooftop

The hotel was okay overall, but there are definitely some areas for improvement. The elevators could really use an upgrade — they were quite slow and not very efficient, especially during busy times. The rooms were clean but could benefit from a bit of modernization to feel fresher and more up-to-date. It’s a decent place to stay, but with a few updates, it could be much better.

My Friends and I has a wonderful 3 night stay in a triple room. The room was very clean as was all of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was very nice and relaxing and the drinks and food were great value for money.

The hotel was in a perfect location for us to visit family who are living in Le Reval area.
The staff were very helpful and it is right by a metro stop so really easy to get around the city. Also a local shop and takeaways right next door.
