Reviews
Great location.
Great rooftop pool.
And best of all, the staff are amazing, helpful and very friendly.
But the negatives cannot be ignored:
The cleaning is awful. My room had dirty mirrors, and long hairs everywhere (both of us have very short hair).
The bathroom humidity extractor didn’t work, so the humidity after a shower made it impossible to dry anything in the room (swimsuits and towels).
Soft drinks cost 10 euros… cocktail costs 12 but a can of coke 10… shameful, mostly when it comes to visiting families.
Good thing is the management and owners could solve those issues easily. At least I hope they pay their staff well because they are all amazing.
The service was pleasant, and the staff seemed genuinely engaged, which is a shame because the hotel itself didn't meet the same standard. The AC was stuck at 21°C, the TV didn’t work, there was no ceiling light, the doors closed loudly, room sound isolation was awful, the pillows were worn out, the beds were like bricks and squeaky, the bathroom lock didn’t work, and the old elevators rarely came to your floor, requiring long waits each time.
A couple of final things that genuinely bothered me were the bathroom and room ventilation. There was almost no ventilation, leaving everything—the bed, towels, and even our clothes—noticeably damp. In addition; the bathroom had no shower curtain, so water splashed everywhere.
I’m not a picky eater but the breakfast was inedible, and all the restaurants nearby didn’t open until 9 am.
The room was nice, the cleaning lady was so sweet, and it was nice being close to the ocean. But if you need reliable wifi you’d need to go to one of the co working locations nearby. There is a great one called Working With.
The hotel’s location is undoubtedly one of its strongest points. Situated close to Barcelona’s stunning beachfront, it offered easy access to both the serene Mediterranean Sea and the vibrant city life. The proximity to the Diagonal Mar area meant dining and shopping options were plentiful and diverse.
The room provided a comfortable retreat after a day of exploration, equipped with modern amenities and boasting a view that captured the essence of the city. The cleanliness and maintenance of the room were commendable, creating a welcoming atmosphere to relax in.
Dining at the hotel was a pleasant experience, with the restaurant serving a variety of dishes that catered to different tastes. Breakfast, in particular, was a highlight, offering a wide selection to kickstart the day.
However, the experience did have its shortcomings. The check-in process was slower than expected, with little to no explanation about the hotel’s facilities or services provided at the time. This initial interaction did not quite match the 4-star expectation set by the hotel’s rating.
Additionally, while the staff were generally courteous, the level of personalized service and attention to detail varied throughout my stay. Enhancing the consistency of customer service could significantly improve the overall guest experience.
In summary, the Eurohotel Diagonal Port in Barcelona offers a solid choice for travelers seeking the convenience of location and the comforts of a 4-star hotel. With some improvements in service and guest communication, it has the potential to truly excel. I leave with fond memories of my stay and would consider returning on future visits to Barcelona.
Firstly because of the squeaky beds, secondly because of the paper thin walls. You can hear what your neighbours are doing at all times. ( and also their squeaky beds) If you're trying to have a relaxing time in the hotel room or if you're sensitive to sound, I would avoid this hotel.
And bring earplugs.
Need renovation. Breakfast super cheap food quality.
I have no idea how this hotel is 4 stars .
The only plus is the location.
My message to the owner. Don't be cheap . This is an investment. You need to spend money on it so you can bring it back with profits.
Internet and people reviews will get you eventually exposed
