Gran Hotel Rey Don Jaime

This is the worst treatment I have ever gotten in a hotel. Hotel staff went through my stuff and admitted to doing so. Please do not stay here! Horrible service! I have stayed here in the past but the service and food has really gone down in quality.

The hotel is on a hill, that has quite an inclination, and if you don't have a car, it is quite a workout.
Rooms are good-sized, clean, but they don't check the soaps and toiletries, so we had to ask for hand soap. Also, the toilets are quite loud when flushed. Also the hot water is kind of warm and not hot. No slippers.provided, even though it is a 4 stars hotel and just the basic toiletries like soap, hand lotion, shampoo and hand soap instead of shower gel on the bathtub. All the toiletries are in big bottles and glued to the wall, like in cheap hotels.
Breakfast was nice, but quite expensive even for Barcelona (and this hotel is outside Barcelona by far). The price for breakfast equals a nice lunch in the centre of Barcelona.
Overall, overpriced for what they're offering, up on a hill, far away from Barcelona, far away from the beach (they say 1000 steps, but it's actually 1.6 miles to the beach). So, it's not worth it.
The staff were nice, and they deserve 5 stars. The rest, -1 star.

Really disappointed how the vacationers are treated compared to company events. At the pool the service is non existent for vacationers buy event people have exactly the opposite. Sorry we played the money to stay here and still have 3 more days. I will say the front desk is good and a few waiters habe been nice but not what someone from any country should expect on vacation
