GHT Oasis Park & Spa Hotel

After reading previous reviews we were unsure of what to expect and we upgraded to a suite. We travelled as 2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 7. The suite was lovely. Clean and spacious, a huge comfy bed and sofa bed for the children which was also comfortable. The air con worked and there was plenty of storage space for clothes and a lovely bathroom. Perfect balcony with 2 sun loungers and whirlpool bath and you could pull the blind back on the roof to really take advantage of the sun. The view wasn’t great but we overlooked the pool which was nice and had the sun for the whole day. There was a kettle, plenty of plug sockets, the fridge worked and there were 2 bins. Also a microwave, cups, glasses and cutlery. Cleaned everyday with beds made and fresh towels. We found it very quiet and got really good sleep. The pools were fine if a little cold but that can’t be helped. Half an hour of aqua gym and half an hour of water volleyball was the only entertainment. No music and no balls or inflatables in the pool. Sunbeds had to be queued for starting around half 8 and people were always pushing in. The doors leading to the pool were opened at 9am on the dot and it was a frenzy trying to get a bed. Staff took photos of unoccupied beds with towels and removed them after a certain amount of time. There are cabanas to hire but these were rarely used and it seems a waste when there could be extra beds available. There was a small kids club at the pool open for about 3 hours a day but these activities were limited. Pool towels are available to hire at 10 euro a towel which you get back when you return it. The bar was ok, good selection of drinks from 10-11 but all made from a machine and the taste was questionable. There was a snack bar but this was the same food everyday. Chips, pizza, sausage. Lovely ice cream! All inclusive people did have to go inside to get there drinks but we didn’t find this a problem. Drinks were served in plastic cups if being taken to the pool which is fair enough and no food was allowed round the pool which again we thought was good as there was minimal rubbish. Even though people ignored this rule. Evening entertainment consisted of half hour mini disco which the kids loved then budget entertainment after. The animation team tried there best with the amenities they had. The restaurant was the downfall. Time slots are given but the queues are huge and everyone pushes in. There were 2 main queues for different food, no real order to anything and you could be trying to get food for 20-30 minutes so the food was cold by the time you got to your table. Staff in restaurant were lovely and food was varied and tasty and the puddings were out of this world. There was chips, pizza, paella, fish, pork, chicken, beef, salad, cheeses, breads - the list is endless. I am quite a fussy eater but I ate a varied selection as did the children. very disappointed overall. Although the hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff (especially the restaurant staff) were very unfriendly. The restaurant was like a grab for all and trying to get a sun lounger was virtually impossible. When we finally got three sun loungers, someone else had the audacity to take them and left our stuff on the floor. The food was not the best, with most meats been undercooked. Beds very uncomfortable but it might have just been our bed. On the positive front our room was cleaned daily. Location good - 5 minute walk to the beach and 15 minutes walk to the centre of Lloret. To summarise it up i will it be coming back!!
