Hotel Salou Sunset by Pierre & Vacances

After reading all the bad reviews I was expecting the worst, the hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious only down fall is not having much room to hang coats or clothes but other then that the room was great, good size balcony also. The staff are friendly and helpful if you need anything nothing is a problem. The location is ok plenty of shops nearby and a good few bars/restaurants, however it is about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and the centre of salou which is very uphill, which wasn't a problem for us just something to be mindful about. Overall really good value for money!

Just returned from a lovely 3 day break staying at this hotel. After paying less than £200 half board for this hotel and flights, and reading some of the reviews, I was not expecting very much from it, however it far exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival in the evening, the staff were friendly and helpful. We were given room 622 which had two double beds and looked clean and fresh, the air conditioning worked well and it was handy having a fridge to keep drinks cool. We had great views overlooking the pool and the sea. Being on floor 6 wasn't a problem, as both lifts were always working and you didn't have to wait long for one. The pool area had a nice, relaxing vibe with good tunes playing and there were always sunloungers available throughout the day. The rooftop area looked lovely and was always quiet. It had fantastic views over Salou and the sea and both Jacuzzis were working whilst I was there. It is in a great location just 10 minutes walk from all the action, but far enough away for it to be quiet. It's just a 5 minute walk to Llarga beach which has gorgeous views walking to it and beautiful flowers along the walk way. This soft sandy beach is much quieter than the main one in Salou and has watersports and a cafe. The only downside is the food and why I haven't given the hotel 5 stars. I only went half board because, at the time of booking, it was the same price as bed and breakfast. On the first evening we tried the food and was greeted with very few options (pizza, sausages, burgers, chips, salad etc) which did not look/taste great and wasn't very warm, so we ate out the other two nights. Breakfast was better with a bit more choice and even if you don't like the hot food, there is cereal, toast and croissants. Overall if you are looking for a good budget hotel I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Brilliant hotel. Cheap and cheerful. Great amenities. Large pool and separate smaller pools. Close enough to town centre and beach that everything is within 10 mins.

I'm basing my 5 stars on the price I paid for my package holiday. It was at the time such a bargain.....but!!!! Lots of large parties of people who had come for the nightlife and party atmosphere,so be prepared for noisy party people arriving back in the early hours.
