Hotel Planas in Salou

Good location, lovely beaches 5 minutes walk away

Based on the mixed reviews I thought long before booking this hotel. However, very glad I did. Spotlessly clean throughout the hotel, basic but very comfortable rooms. Breakfast is basic but enjoyable. The terrace is very good - probably the high point. Staff were mixed, some lovely some a little more grumpy, but this is often the case anywhere you go. I took my Dad abroad for the first time in 40 years as we lost my Mom last year - so thanks to Hotel Planas for a great stay :)

Arrive at the hotel and was able to begin my check in ready for the room to be ready. Room was clean and tidy and just what you need for your hols. Shower was really powerful. Bed were comfortable. We had breakfast as part of our booking and we certainly weren’t disappointed, food range and amount was plentiful and definitely set us up for the day. Pool and bar area were spotless. Loved our stay her.

Good stay, enjoyed how central was to walk to shops/beach/ restaurants but still outside main part

Very central location, close to beach and harbour.
If people leave a towel on a sunbed
Breakfast was disappointing, should be better choice of fruit not just apples and tomatoes, mushrooms or similar to cater for vegetarians. Too many sweet things.
If something is left on a sunbed when not occupied, it should be removed by staff after 30 mins.No saving..

The first and most important thing we noticed about our stay at Hotel Planas was that it was beautifully clean which is so important to us.
The room was simple but had everything we needed. Bed a little firm for us, but fine. Soap and hair/body wash in the bathroom, towels, balcony (albeit only a chairs width), lovely view out to sea, air conditioning. The only slight negative was that the walls seem thin, could hear everything around, and lots of noise outside, but not enough to disturb our sleep.

Staff were very helpful on the desk, and all spoke English. Cleaners knocked at 9am, we were only there for 2 nights so opted for no cleaning by putting a sign on the front of the door.

We used the left luggage lockers on our last day which were great, they're huge, you just need a 2€ coin to use them.

Hotel is not in the busy end of Salou, which we loved. Was near everything we needed and a gentle flat walk to the busier end with shops and bars galore.

Breakfast wasn't the best, fried eggs on the first day were stone cold, and scrambled on day two looked dried out at about 9.30am. Hot dog looking mini sausages, very fatty thin bacon, both cold. Salamis and cold meats and cheese. There was plenty of pastries, yoghurt, uht milk only which had no refrigeration and ended up warm, juice was either very watered down or so strong it was too much. Plenty of bread and rolls and we both found enough to eat, so it wasn't really a disappointment. Nothing had any kind of label so we were trying some things blind. We didn't try the restaurant as the reviews were poor.

We spent our day on the beach, and didn't try the pool either.

A GREAT HOTEL, CHEAP, CLEAN... WOULD VISIT AGAIN!
