The location is amazing, the hotel is surrounded by forest, pretty close to the sea.
It’s a very calm place. Sauna is great.
The service is not as great. They had private event there during our stay from 3pm till 7pm and just declined our request to book private sauna at 11. They say they don’t want to take any risks. Well that’s not really nice attitude to your guests. But also it’s not cool to limit access to facilities we paid for. You guys will not be able to earn all money in the world.
Separately would like to notice insane markup on food in your room, easy two-three times higher their fair price.
Breakfast costs 33 euro per person. Which is also questionable, unsure it’s worth it.

kind of chill and cold in the room. no wardrobe for sauna.. pricy breakfast. the rest is fine. 4 stars agree. location is amazing.

Great 3 night stay. Hotel room with sea view was lovely and room was spacious. Hotel is pretty secluded from surrounding area. Only things to note are I'd wanting to head into city center or ferry terminals, it is about a 15-25 minute taxi ride depending on time of day. Users were reasonable, they also have 3-5 taxis at all times waiting outside lobby. Also if you're an American like I am and expect air conditioning everywhere you go, air conditioning isn't readily available, however the rooms did have fans and was fine during the day and night. Would stay again.

The hotel is pretty far from downtown but the #4 tram goes right to City Center, so it's easy to get back and forth. The location does mean this is a very quiet hotel. Service was exceptional and the breakfast was really great. The room was lovely with a fantastic view. There was always at least one cab there, which made it really easy to get to the airport.

As someone who grew up in this neighborhood, coming to Kalastajatorppa was like stepping into a time capsule. This iconic hotel has been one of the top addresses since I was a kid. It has received some upgrades, but in essence the hotel is how I remembered it to be. Oh, they added iglo rooms at the waterfront. Worth checking out for sure. All the staff were very nice. And, watching the sunset from the seaside restaurant is always a nice way to end the day.

The location by the seaside is lovely, but if one wishes to spend more time in the city centre, it's good to be aware that this requires jumping on a bike (available at the hotel), or taking a tram or a car.
The room we stayed in (in the main building) had seen its better days, the toilet had a horrible smell and there was no AC, which would have been a problem, should it have been any warmer.

While the surroundings are quiet and beautiful, I was partly disappointed in my stay.
A reception staff member was rude for no reason when inquiring about their refreshments for sale.
The hotel advertises air conditioning, but no AC actually exists, meaning the rooms can get way too hot to comfortably sleep in, because the bathroom floor heater is on non-stop.
On the plus-side: Breakfast was good and what you would expect from a 4-star hotel. The cocktail bar was also alright. There is an ice dispenser for guests and rooms are equipped with minibars.

My favorite hotel in Helsinki. It’s a bit far from all the action, but very accessible with tram (goes directly to the city center, takes about 30 min).
If you don’t mind the trip, this hotel is located in the most beautiful place!
The building is a bit old, but the view is amazing, especially from the seaside wing.

Good food for breakfasts. Clean rooms. Hair dryer, kettle and tea or cofee, iron. It's a little bit too cold for me in the rooms. Take that ones with the view on the lake - it can be very beautiful.
