Reviews
The room is spacious enough to place your luggage on the group and lots of closet space for slightly longer stay. The bathroom is huge - so huge, that if you needed to take a business call and not interrupt the sleep of your friend/partner, you can easy move into the bathroom for your call. Which I obviously did.
The shower and amenities in the room are great. Even provided a soda stream if you’re one with a preference for sparkling water.
Our highlight of the stay is in the spa. Simply gorgeous. It’s has a beautiful pink steam room and a tradition wood sauna with fancy high tech water dispenser (that’s what those buttons are for). I suggest going first in the morning or right before closing to avoid the crowd.
Only downside, is the WiFi is not great.
Not so good: AC doesn’t work in rooms. Windows open but street noise, humidity, and mosquitoes make that a non-tenable solution. Some genius decided that the bathrooms needed a permanently-abled motion sensor, so if you wake up at 3am to use the toilet, you’re greeted with the brightness of 1,000 suns. Good luck falling back asleep. Finally, due to jet lag, we were late getting out of the room a few of the days(after 12:00). Despite being gone for several hours in the afternoon(6+), this meant our room did not get tidied up those days. Not a big deal at all but worth mentioning.
The service on the other hand was perfect and everyone was nice and quick.
The service was quick that whenever we requested something it was delivered within 15 minutes.
The breakfast buffet was the best part of our stay. But the dinner of the Thai food at the same location (but different company running Thai food) was so so. Food was not very good at the bakery. Location is great that it’s walkable to most attractions.
I’ll start with the positive. The location is fantastic and the room was well appointed. That was really about it.
The service at this hotel was essentially non existent, with the exception of Mara, and the hotel fell short on many of the small details that make or break a stay.
Checking in was clinical and lacking in any helpfulness or basic information about the hotel. There wasn’t even guidance on the location of the elevators until I asked. Often the front desk staff were too busy conversing amongst themselves to address any of the guests.
Upon arrival to our room there were no luggage racks in the room. The wifi was unreliable, and there was an incessant high pitched ringing in our room all three days/nights we stayed. As I mentioned Mara was the only staff member that responded who we found genuinely helpful and tried her best to remediate the situation.
Overall this was a very disappointing and underwhelming experience for supposedly the best hotel in the city.
Very clean rooms and facilities.
Staff are friendly.
Service is average
Breakfast is average as there is no much variety available, though waiters are excellent.
Prices are in the high side.
They are partner with Marriott hotels group, the Bonvoy.
Likely because this hotel is always busy you will not be able to get late check out.
You better get your own water bottles if you don’t want to drink from the water taps .
The room was elegantly appointed with modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay. The hotel's sophisticated design added to its boutique charm, creating a memorable atmosphere.
While the spa facilities were a highlight, with wonderful saunas, the swimming pool was small and not as warm as desired. Additionally, the hotel bar's beautiful design was marred by a lack of welcoming hospitality.
Breakfast was good, but the crowded dining area and close tables detracted from the experience. Despite these minor drawbacks, I enjoyed my stay overall and would consider returning due to the hotel's prime location and comfortable accommodations.
It started with check-in. The front desk area is cramped when you step off the elevator, but it was the reception at the front desk itself that was lacking. The one person present at the front desk was clearly just going through the motions. We don't need to be pampered or fawned over, but at least make your guests feel welcomed. Put just a bit of effort into it. There didn't appear to be a bell caption so we lugged our bags up to our room ourselves. We had quite a bit of luggage since we had packed outerwear and gear for Lapland.
The room itself was nice. Very well maintained, modern, and spacious. The shower was problematic. The drain was slow, so it leaked out onto the bathroom floor when each of us took a shower. I used the handheld only and showered quickly after my husband told me about the problem, but it still overflowed.
The included breakfast was pretty good - a decent buffet. The quiche was gone, but the chef immediately offered to make something for me a la carte. Great service!
Check out was the same bland experience. As a seasoned world traveler, I can say this experience was definitively not that of a 5-star hotel. It was disappointing after reading the good reviews. I imagine given this, that it's a spotty experience. Hit or miss.
