Hotel du Theatre

Be aware that this hotel hasn’t got a lift ( just like many hotels in Europe that located in heritage building area) so it doesn’t suit people who carry big suitcases. Hotel is located very close to central area.There are so many restaurants and cafes nearby. Very convenient location and easy to walk to the old Lyon town. It was quite noisy on Friday and Saturday night but that is not a problem for me. Staff was lovely and friendly. However, the issue was the facilities in the room. One of the lamp next to bed side is broken and the one light above the ceiling also went off. There is a bathtub but the drain stopper couldn’t stop the water. I think I need to be replaced. I We have informed the receptionist though but nothing could have been done during the time our staying which is fine. I wish they were checked and fixed before our arrival. Oh at least they changed a new standing fan for us because it was broken as well. Apart from these issues, we are happy with the room for the money that we paid.

Great location and low price but exceptionally noisy . Tiny toilets with macerator flush units were extremely noisy. In addition paprt thin walls and a crèche opposite alongside my room being beside the cleaners store room made for a not very restful stay. Do Not Disturb notices would also be useful instead of the cleaner constantly knocking on the door to see if the room is empty. Breakfast was juice, coffee, a croissant and half a rustic baguette with butter and jams. Given the price of coffee locally , it was probably worth it for the coffee on its own

Nice small hotel with small, clean rooms, nice, clean bathrooms. Excellent continental breakfast. However, the reception area is on the second floor, rooms are on floors above, and there is no elevator. Be prepared to climb narrow staircases, carrying your own luggage.
